Acer On-track to Beat Asus

While Asus has a massive collection of netbooks to parade in today’s market, Acer has just one to its name, and it’s the Aspire One that is slowly creeping up behind the lead of the EeePC. How successful has the Aspire One been since its debut? Good enough that it could snatch the lead from Asus in the netbook segment of the market.

Acer Aspire One could beat Asus EeePC

Shipments for the Aspire One for this year is expected to reach a high of 6M units outnumbering Asus’ 5M. That’s pretty impressive considering that it was introduced at a later date as compared to the EeePC and rival products popping out of the woodwork when it became available. I guess the low price complemented by a decent spec sheet and stylish design helped propel it to the upper echelon of the market, but will it be enough to upstage Asus and stay at the top? I think they’ve done enough to take the lead, but to stay there, that’s a completely different story.

With HP, Dell, MSI and Asus coming out with their next set of netbooks to flood the market, it would be wise for Acer to introduce a more feature-packed netbook come 2009.

its haft baked, actually, theres nothing in it.

its a pure non sense

the article doesnt give any sense.

ON THE BASIC QUESTION.

DOES THE ARTICLE ANSWERS WHY ACER IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK?

my dog can do a better article on why acer (if its true) is on track or at least racing against asus

im not rooting for anything here, it just after i read the article, it just waste my 2 minutes.

PLEASE DELETE THIS OR CALL THE ATTENTION OF MR. REYES

thanks

steve

totally agree. the article is a total waste of time

Good Day ! I agree with Steve’s comment , bec. you the comparative advantages and feautes of ACER Aspire product. I am in the sales and mktg. but i know the specs and features given to us by the Distributors or our Business Partners.

The projection is based on sales/shipments for 2008 which Acer is dominating at the moment. Currently, Asus is still no. 1 based on total units sold, but Acer is at no. 2 and based on the projected and scheduled shipments up until the year ends, they will have the numbers to beat Asus.

Shipping is not equal to actual sales to consumers.

You totally should have included the info/facts above in your original article. Should have made it longer and a more worthwhile read. I’m done with external blogs from the Inquirer site: poor articles, self-referencing blogs (like this one), and a host of other negatives.

Can’t you guys read, the reason was already stated in the post.

Way to go Acer! I love the aspire one, I just wish they had it had a bigger screen then that would just be perfect :)

This praise release is classic Filipino pr - portraying oneself as better than the other, and the same time trying to bring down the other. Talangka talaga!

This is pure self-serving ejaculation from a latecomer trying to catch up with the market leader. Pathetic!

guys,

i tried to be constructive on my comment regarding the article.

I did not dreamed, nor planned that this “snowballed” to a state like this one.

It may not be good, but let not turn it UGLY.
