HP Mini 1000 now Available for P21,950

Maybe you’ve already bought yourself that dream phone or laptop you’ve been lusting for the past couple of months, but for those who still have some money left over from their Christmas bonus, you might be interested to know that the HP Mini 1000 is already available locally.

HP Mini 1000 now available locally

This bit of news is courtesy of Yugatech, and based on the provided info, both Villman and PC Corner have this second generation netbook listed on their respective websites already. PC Corner is selling it for P21,950 while Villman is offering theirs for P21,948. Other retailers might also be offering this new netbook already though I have yet to actually see one in the local stores. The specs of the HP Mini 1000 includes an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 10.2-inch display, 1GB RAM (single slot, max 2GB), 60GB 4200rpm IDE, Bluetooth, WiFi, webcam, 3-cell battery and runs on Windows XP Home SP3.

While I love the over-all design and cheaper price of this new HP netbook, I just can’t get past the thought that it only comes with 60GB 4200rpm HDD. I don’t exactly mind the average capacity, though I would have preferred it to be bigger, but the 4200rpm will definitely take its toll in performance. Nevertheless, it should be functional enough to meet the average PC user’s needs and its stylish and excellent design is surely a winner.

So if you’re still looking for a decent gift to give yourself this Christmas, this is one netbook that’s worth considering. Merry Christmas everybody!

Just right for average or light users like you said whose main purpose for having a laptop is to surf the net. Much suitable for students to help them with school projects like reports and essay writing. Might want to have one for when I travel. But I think Acer Aspire One has better specs though.

I thought so, I’ve had 2 HP laptops, the other one was sold to a friend and the other is defective; both got the same defects this time, the keyboard and CDROM. While this doesn’t have CDROM, i hope the keyboard fare well enough, am now tempted to buy Dell or Acer, might as well consider NEO, buy PINOY! :)

the netbook is best suited to kids and not to adults, tried it once, the keys are so cramped i dont know why HP produced such, maybe they are targetting the 12 and below age bracket. i suggest investing in the regular laptop.

I bought this for my mom yesterday, and I’m thinking of getting one for myself. Though I still haven’t tried MS Office in it (still for installation). But the design is awesome.

@john

I beg to disagree on this matter especially with regards to the HP Mini 1000. This netbook has one of the best-sized keyboards in the market making it by far the easiest to use netbook to date. It could be ideal for kids, but adults particularly those who need a very portble laptop to lug around for internet and other basic usage will certainly appreciate the great form factor of the HP Mini 1000.

Sir, with all due respect, please do not talk about things that you have no knowledge of. The primary purpose of netbooks is to provide a relatively inexpensive solution for users that require a light, highly mobile platform for primarily surfing the net (hence the term netbook) and for writing / editing documents.

The HP Mini Note and HP Mini 1000 in particular have huge keyboards for netbooks, a full QWERTY setup only 8% smaller than a regular keyboard, sans the numpad of course.

Wow, thanks for the info! :) Do you know how much the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition costs? :) Thanks! :)
