Sony Ericsson announces C510 Cybershot, W508 Walkman phones


Sony Ericsson fans will be happy to know that a new Cybershot phone as well as a Walkman phone are confirmed to debut this year.

Sony Ericsson C510The Sony Ericsson C510 is a 3.2-megapixel Cybershot phone that comes with a 2.2-inch TFT scratch-resistant display, Bluetooth, Google Maps, direct YouTube upload, slide-in lens cover, and 100MB internal memory. It likewise features Smile Shutter, Face Detection and Photo Fix. It’ll be available in the 1Q of this year in two color options: Radiation Silver and Future Black. Price is yet to be known, but it expected to be more on the affordable side.

Sony Ericsson W508Meanwhile, the W508 is the new Walkman phone to watch out for. It’s a clamshell that features a 2.2-inch internal scratch-resistant display, a 1.1-inch monochromatic OLED external scratch-resistant display, 3.2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, NetFront browser, 100MB internal memory and a 1GB Memory Stick Micro as part of the package. Of course, since this is a Walkman phone, you can expect TrackID, Mega Bass, Shake Control and SensMe to be present as well. It’ll be available in Q2 of this year with a yet to be known price.

While these two may offer very little in terms of groundbreaking features, they certainly have the looks and styling to succeed in the market.

I’m still waiting for the price, if this device could categorized by high value for money? How about Wi-Fi feature? I believe this stuff could play 3d java game very well (sorry i’m a gamers) :)

me to, cannot wait for the released of c510; should be cheaper than k810i hehe! i searched on the web and price will be around 11-12k (not sure); let’s just wait and see. btw, i went to some sony ericson stores and reps said that they don’t have any idea when will it be announced. woah! should be released 02/23/2009 based from other websites.

i bought a c510 just last may 2009, now, its in the service center. its already two weeks since it started to malfunction. until now they still can’t fix the fone

The C510 features a typical Sony Ericsson’s look. It looks compact.

There are Cybershot and Cybershot in the market now, i just cann’t find out which one is the real professional one for photograghing lovers like me who want to snap the pleasant moments in the daily life while keep connect and be connected. Friends told me the 3.2MP camera equipped with the Sony Ericsson C510 did a bad job at night although it comes with a LED flash. The Sony Ericsson W508 is not in the list as i prefer a good camera to a good music player. BTY, its clammshell design is really brilliant, if Sony Ericsson will strengthen its camera capability in the next lineups, i will consider getting one.

when will W508 be released? I’ve been waiting for months for it to be released so that I can use my phone for internet and MMS stuff. I bought mine from Singapore and it works perfectly with Globe’s services, except for the internet thing…
