@Trevor: It’s a dock adaptor that allows you to use your iPod touch in older accessories where the touch wouldn’t fit the dock. Useless if you don’t have dock-enabled gadgets to use it with, like iPod speakers or something. Leave it in the box or something.

At the risk of sounding like a dumbass… In that third-to-last picture — what the heck is that white plastic piece with the slit in the bottom of it for???
I and a couple friends just got an iPod Touch and are completely stupefied by this mysterious piece of plastic.
