A local telco eventually snagging the iPhone is a no-brainer -- either Globe or Smart will eventually get it. The bigger question is this: Does this also mean that the iTune Store will also be available locally?

Remember that a connection to the iTunes store is needed to activate the iPhone. If this is so, how long before we get to actually purchase music, movies and TV shows from iTunes?

OH, I forgot to give the connection to how a Macbook Air could become a writer's best friend: because its aluminum chassis makes up for the defects of the polycarbonate macbook, I won't need to worry about wristrest edges chipping when I'm writing. :)

As for the eeePC, I deem it an essential ultraportable for writers who need to go out to the Metro..

I think the Macbook Air and the eeePC are synergistic, not mutually exclusive, especially if money were not a factor, eheheh!

Thanks for the space!

hallo, kinda stalking you over your blogs, heheh. :)

Just my two cents': I think that a Macbook Air is not something you could ever substitute with an eeePC. An eeePC is really just for a short just-in-case-i-think-of-something-to-write thing.. On the other hand, the Macbook Air could become a writer's best pal..

My own Macbook already has a chipped right edge, on the wrist rest area. The left wrist rest is also starting to crack.

In terms of a dream computer suite, I sure would like:

A Macbook Pro for a workhorse, an iMac for the "mother ship, and in case I would crave for a larger screen real estate, a Macbook Air to use when going out, an eeePC as another rig to use when I am going out and I feel uneasy about passing through rather dangerous areas, and a desktop computer with a funky HDTV monitor..

Heheh. I do want to have all these dreams fulfilled. :)

But back to eeePC's.. I think they could be a paranoid writer's essential ultraportable. The thought of lugging a Macbook around already makes me feel un-secure; how much more the Air?

An eeePC, on the other hand, would make things easier for the writer who goes through hell and high water (i.e. the streets of Manila), because it's nary the size of a real notebook. :)

I love free speech!
