If I were money and I have more than 500 million pesos, I’ll invest them to the following items:
1. Gold - I believe this is one way to safely store wealth instead of cash.
2. Real Estate - Buy a big land and build his own subdivision or mall in it.
3. Foundation - Create a free school or college for young people who are less fortunate.
I assume he already has college plans for all his current and future children. I heard him say he wants a dozen kids.

on politics. spending all that hard earned cash on campaigning is the surest way to lose it in one sweep!

pacquiao should NOT enter politics…he’s being used. he should focus on boxing and promoting fights and filipino boxers…
btw, I also earned money from pacquiao, from blogs…my highest so far on a single day

If i am Manny Pacquiao, having that 547million at the palm of my hands, im going to gather all the engineers, researchers, scientists and other specialists here and abroad to formulate and invent a gadget to filter the smoke coming out of a “tambucho” of public and private vehicles and convert it into pure oxygen. If its going to be a success, it will be proposed to the LTO and hopefully require every motorista to have this gadget installed to their own vehicles. I will of course finance this project…

Unless I have a solid idea of a sound investment, I would rather leave my money in the bank. A big chunk of it would be “time deposit” with the biggest percentage of interest possible.
The rest would be in a checking deposit which has also the biggest interest.

Instead of giving dole outs to people to aid them , I would establish a microcredit/lending facility for the poor so they will be encouraged to work and earn for themselves over the long-term. This can be patterned after the Grameen Bank.
The rest of the money can be invested in stocks, mutual funds and possibly buying out companies that have growth opportunities.

Half to charity and half to himself. He can diversify his funds both in PH and in US. CDs and Treasury Notes in the US are performing well.

I would deposit half of it in a Swiss Account and donate the remaining half to a charitable institution.

I am going to hand money at PGH pediatric ward and set up foundation to help the poor children.
I will invest some money in real estate.

With that money, I’ll just keep most of it in a conservative investment that earns fixed return (bonds/tb), sit back relax and keep my lifestyle modest. I’ll give some to charity and keep some for my children’s trust fund.
547 M - Assuming this will be deducted by 35% tax, I’ll be left with 355.55M. At a conservative investment that earns 3.5% per annum, I will have an income of about 1M/month. This type of investment will not beat inflation but hey, 1M per month is more than enough for my needs and I can re-invest most it. I think with that money and the power of compounding, I’ll have more than enough to live comfortably for the rest of my life. I might invest some into a venture that will earn some passive income (e.g. apartments). I don’t want to venture into high-risk investment anymore. Why risk if you already have enough. But then this is just me, an ordinary person talking. I’m no financial expert

If I were Manny Pacquiao, I would buy a house in Tuscany Italy for R&R, then put most of it into savings. I would put up a business like microfinance or that can help boost the Philippine economy, by teaching Filipinos how to fish, instead of just merely giving them a fish. Definitely, I will not enter politics, since this will just finish up my Php 547million, which I worked and trained hard for !

Fixed income 75%, Real estate 10%, Gold 5%, Equities 5%, Business 2.5%, Luxury 2.5%

You can actually live on the interest
alone so why invest as I am sure he
have a huge portfolio of investments already inplace.
The question is… what car is he going to purchase next?

If I were Mr. Pacquiao, I would diversify my investments into agricultural products (so we can increase the standards of our local products and lessen our dependence on imports for rice and other basic necessities), investments in the fishing industry (because he lives in Gensan where the fishing industry is very active and his capital can give it the opportunity to compete heavily in the world market), and set up a nationwide boxing camp where I can develop the talents of Filipino boxers from all provinces in the Philippines so that they can have a chance to become like me. Actually, the first two suggestions are meant for our Philippine government but since they don’t seem to be interested in really improving our economy, maybe Mr. Pacquiao can help us out instead.

If I had that load of cash, i’ll definitely invest a fraction of it developing General Santos City. Tourism, Entertainment, Technology, Agri-Industrial are some of the many areas that Manny could invest in and that the city could benefit, generate sustainable jobs and uplift the lives of people in that area. He could help improve General Santos similarly to what the Ayala’s have done to Makati.

(kibit balkat)

if i were manny… i would put up a school (elementary, high school and university) for the the poor free of charge. Teachers and other staff will be given above average salary so that only the best will be teaching the students. The only condition would be for them (for university-bound students) to serve the country in return. These will slowly change the socio-economic condition of the Philippines. If i were Manny, i’ll forget about entering Politics …. it will only ruin his life and make his money disappear in no time.

If I were Mr. Pacquiao aka “Packman” I will built a SM Mall type in Gen. San. Let say “Pacman supermall” something like that! It will benefit and create stable jobs for my constituents. And definitely stable income like billionaire Mr. Sy of SM Mall. If there’s still left, I will invest in a real property.
leela
if i were manny, i WILL NOT invest the money in sabong and casino. i WILL NOT invest in anything that chavit singson will advise me. hehehe!
hachiko
Diretsuhang payo kay Pacman:
“divvy up your windfall”: wisely and responsibly. To whom more is given, more is expected. Learning to keep and invest it is a huge responsibility, lalo na’t sabi mo gusto mong makatulong sa nangangailangan. If you can learn to invest aggressively in equities and / or give worthwhile / profitable employment to the needy but deserving, so much the better.
“How should you NOT invest or spend that money?” PLEASE LANG HUWAG KA NANG BUMALIK SA PULITIKA!!! And watch out for opportunists around you! I dunno if you learned your lesson from Darlene Custodio. Sana naman.

I agree with nina. We don’t need to take high risks if cash flow generated from low risk investments is enough for one’s daily needs.
I’m now excited to see what those “experts” will recommend.
I have this hunch that our “experts” doesn’t have that much expertise in risk management.
melvin banzon
if i were manny i would not below
1) run in politics :
2) watch all those leaches surrounding him
3)study /reflect the lives of other great boxers who had nothing right now or almost down the drain i.e : iron mike, bad boy of dajiangas etc just to name a few

may kasabihan tayo:
“hindi lahat ng oras ay araw.. mayroon ding gabi”
FAMILY FIRST, MANNY….
chris
let’s see…… if i am manny p , with all those money…. first, i buy or set-up a rural bank and let the money earn…… then built a hospital to cater to the needy in gen san with money earned from the bank….. then build schools for the children in gen san who are bright but poor from the dividend of the bank

If I were him, I will use my money to invest in some business. Boxing is not a permanent career. Time will come he will fade and will just remain as a big name in the history when he aged.
I always believe in ubus-ubos biyaya, bukas ay nakatunganga.
He should invest some of his earnings as early as now not just for himself but also to provide jobs for his fellow kababayans in Gen San.

If I were Manny Pacquiao w/ my P547 million…
I would:
1. Don’t go into politics…. (watch out with those people and politicians who took advantage of my popularity (namely: Atienza, Singson, Arroyo, etc)
2. franchise Jollibee
3. invest on Tuna business (it’s abundant in Gensan… )
4. expand my previous acquired businesses..
5. business…business…business…. (this would do more help to the country and the Filipino people rather than going into a dirty and useless Phillippine politics.)

The thinking of most pinoys is no different than that of pacquiao’s. That politics is the be-all end-all sure ticket to heaven, fame, riches, accomplishment, and respect.
Well, they are all wrong.
If i am pacquiao, i would deposit my money first to a safe instrument while investing in educating myself on the realities of life and politics here in the Phils. I would also ponder on myself: will i be as popularly loved as before as i am when i am in politics?
but preferably i would buy an island with a self-sustaining community complete with renewable energy sources such as solar panels, windmills, etc. I will set up a country within a country. lol

If I was Manny I would watch out for freeloading wolf friends in sheep’s clothing. I am quite sure there are a number of them around him.
Entrepinoy
Manny alwasy tells us that he want to help needy Filipiinos. Now, if I were Manny, I’ll invest my hard-earned money into the following:
1. Building housing projects for the homeless Filipinos
2. Helping training and promoting potential boxer who has the caliber to succeed him as a world champion and a great boxer
3. Expand his Manny Pacquiao Foundations to offer scholarships for bright students.
