oh well, all banks are heartless! hehehehehe kaya yong recommendation to talk to your bank/credit card companies for loan/credit card payments medyo mahirap :) I hate banks...
It is just unfortunate that there are banks, if not most, would not even take an extra effort to help their clients during hard times especially now. Suffice it to say, I admire clients that know their business predicament much earlier and their effort to arrange with their banks to mitigate the business problems. As what is commonly said " Banks will readily give you an umbrella during sunny days but will take it away during rainy days". Better if this particular bank be known so as to caution their clients and also those expecting to deal with them.
now we will know which among these banks are really serious and who are just paying lip service when they say that they are "customer friendly." these heartless banks need to be named to warn future depositors of the kind of "partnership" that they would be getting into if they decide to avail of the "services" of these banks.
sadly, that is true. banks wouldn't really raise a muscle to help a client who is into a financial rut.
the most they would do is try to look at your assets and see what they can get as payment for your loan.
I think it is already a given that banks are "heartless" and that bank name dropping is but an immature way of dealing with it. Get over it!
Dear Ruel,
Please file a customer complaint through our Customer Care Hotline: 898-8701, 898-8702 or email us at customercare@metrobank.com.ph. As an employee, it pains me to read this kind of service that you've experienced. This action does not reflect the values practiced in our bank. It is our commitment to always address the needs of our clients.
Thank you.
making it a blind item doesn't really help us avoid these "bad" banks, so better just disclose who it is don't you think?
It really helps to consult a financial expert when dealing with loans nowadays. Someone who has the time to discuss everything and answer your "what if?" . By the way,I agree with one blogger here, the bank that says you're in good hands, I believe I'm not. Better be with BDO,as I've read from this credible site, they are now the country's largest bank. Definitely worth emulating. See their history.
I would have to agree with Ruel about Metrobank. Many years ago, I wanted to open a Metrobank account and I was dismayed by the rudeness of Metrobank Fairview branch. Because of that one experience, I never bothered with Metrobank again and just remained loyal with BPI.
Another sucky bank is BDO especially BDO Greenhills. Read my blog na lang about our experience with that arrogant BDO Greenhills branch head:
http://pinayandmoney.wordpress.com/2009/01/15/bdo-greenhills-branch-head-sucks/
James, just visit online discussion boards like Pinoy Money Talk and FemaleNetwork's GirlTalk and read about horrible feedbacks about your bank. I'm really not sure if your Customer Care replies to feedback kasi most of the time, the Customer Care is outsourced (like SMART) and wala ding pakialam yung mga CSRs sa ganyang complaints.
Leela, I'm not surprised with BDO. Poor service and incompetent people. Dito sa BDO Ortigas (Taipan building), nag tatawanan at naghaharutan yung mga employees kahit ang haba ng line. Yung Manager no reaction. Same with Metrobank, very slow service.
My bank is BPI. BPI family Ortigas (beside orient square) super okay and service pero ang BPI podium haba na ng line sa pinto walang action pa rin yung Manager at iisa lang ang teller.
If you have enough money, mag HSBC na lang kayo. BPI is good pero not all branches.
They don't care how they serve so do you think they care about helping you with your debt?
Sharing my banking experience as ordinary Pinoy and as Pinoy OFW...
One time, I went to Metrobank to open an account - after waiting for along time and filling up many forms, I was told I can only open cash-basis account. Same with Equitable-PCI, cash-basis account only. I don't why and if Metrobank still do that today. It really sucks! Why can't I deposit checks? Surprisingly, BPI which is more strict than Metrobank and Equitable PCI, does not impose such limitation. If you open a BPI account, you can deposit checks.
Like any OFW our dream is to have our own place. If you buy from a developer, usual requirement is to issue post-dated checks and banks require at least 6 months of banking relationship and certain balance to open an account. So I have an account in Equitable-PCI, average daily balance is fine but they want me to go to my branch to open a current account or get a referal letter which is quite inconveniet 'coz at the time I'm already living in the opposite side of metro manila. Plus I was told, they can't issue check books because the BDO-Equitable merger is in transition. (New BDO checkbooks hasn't arrived yet). Duh? I can't imagine banks running out of checkbooks!!!
So, I was forced to open account in HSBC even if the maintaining balance is very high because only HSBC will allow me to open a current account without other prerequisite except the high maintaining balance.
Dear Leela,
Thank you for giving me suggestions on where to look.
Our customer service desks do give feedback from customer complaints, though I think not all queries are immediately responded. but please do report it anyway. In reality, this kind of events are deeply not tolerated especially by higher management.
Your inputs are highly appreciated. In behalf of the bank, I deeply apologize for all the unpleasant experiences you've encountered with our people.
Thank you.
actually, Im an OFW and have had two account at BDO, one is dollar savings and peso savings, also a peso savings at METROBANK. however disappointed regarding those comments, Still I opt to continue patronizing those banks partly because they are doing well here in the middle east.
In lieu with savings account opening at METROBANK and BDO here in Saudi, it is very easy to make one, just bring your passport copy, fill up the application form and pay the fee, then you're done. it is really a contrary to what is happening in METROBANK-BDO pinas branches.
no offense to anyone, only my humble experience. :)
actually... the long lines are mostly for paying utilities and such..... some branches of metrobank are not that crowded and the manager know you on a first name basis
bdo and metrobank branches in the middle east don't have to deal with other add-0n services of the bank.... that's why the service are prompt
