HERE’S a video of Mitsuko Horie singing “Borutesu Faibu no Uta” (”Voltes V” theme) during a concert in Japan.
She’s the singer behind the theme songs for a number of anime shows, including another one that was also very popular in the Philippines back in the day, “Candy Candy.”

wow sure brings back memories of my happy childhood! i remember candy candy well, also voltes v, mazinger z (gma7 wasn’t able to bring it back becos i heard it’s till popular in europe i think, there4 d price is too steep), aphrodite a, kimba the white lion. back in 2000 or 1999, i always rushed home to watch it on gma7! my younger cousins found it weird when i screamed when i saw it flashed on tv that it was being shown again. a catchphrase i remember back in the 70s was my cousin yelling “I LOVE YOU ERICAAAAAHH!!”" frm Daimos.

Hi Gally thanks for dropping by. Was a bigger fan of Voltes V than Daimos, but yeah, I loved Mazinger Z. Next to Voltes V, Mazinger Z was my favorite. Kahit low-tech at may makikita kang spring pag na-damage si Mazinger haha
And I’ll never forget that episode with Minerva X.
I have a friend na mas gusto si Daimos, ‘coz action na nga, may love story pa hehe. Yup, that will always be part of my childhood, hearing “Richard!” “Erika!”" over and over again
And my friend was right, the great thing about Daimos is magaling sa martial arts si Richard, and talagang binubugbog ni Daimos ang mga kalaban. Who needs fancy weapons?

wow, thanks for posting candy candy’s opening theme, i hope you will post more. we cannot buy dvds/tapes of this cartoon because there is still an ongoing (?) battle on its rights.

wow! nice timing…was just in a conversation with a couple of my officemates about 2 weeks ago at nagre-reminisce nga kami ng mga cartoons/animes of yore…when i mentioned ronron, ayaw nila maniwala na merong cartoons na ganun…well, syempre i lead them to your blog, hehehe…hope you can feature also my favorite robots aside from voltes v…sina mazinger z, ufo grendizer at mekanda!

Galing!! nangilid ang luha sa mata ko. Our TV then has powerlock to keep us from watching too much cartoons but I remember “borrowing” (ok, ok, stealing seems to be more the apt word) from my mom’s purse the powerlock key to watch Voltes V
