WHY should you let the candidates do all the talking?

Make your voice heard. With the launch of the Eleksyon 2007 Philippine Elections Blog, we are reserving virtual space for you to tell the whole world what you think are the important issues that should decide the outcome of the Philippine elections in May 2010.

What do you think of the candidates? Which issues should be tackled? How can we improve our ongoing coverage of Eleksyon 2007? Listen to our Eleksyon 2007 podcasts, and tell us which questions we should ask candidates in future sessions, or what points you would like them to expound on in future articles. We don’t want to just read your feedback. We want to give you the opportunity to keep the conversation going, not just by posting comments but also by writing your own entries on this blog.

To post Philippine Elections Eleksyon 2007-related entries here, you’ll have to register and create a user profile. Please don’t give out your username and password to other people. If you’d like to use the WYSIWYG Visual Editor when writing your blog posts, don’t forget to select this option in your user profile page.

All blog posts you write will not be published immediately but will instead be saved as drafts and subject to moderation. We hope you’ll understand our need to moderate posts, so please keep the conversation meaningful and your language clean. We hope you’ll respect the opinions of others, just as you expect others to respect what you think.

We’ll also feature Philippine election-related posts in the blogosphere and other online resources, so if you have an election blog or site, post a comment here so we can pay a visit.

Now tell us what you think.

    Jeff Says:

    With the entry of Noynoy, choosing whom to vote for president this coming 2010 election is rather very easy. My personal rating for the probable candidates are as follows:

    Lakas/Kampi of Gloria = Most evil.
    Erap = Lesser evil
    Manny = Least evil
    Nonoy = No evil

    John de Guzman Says:

    Manny Villar television campaign commercial is repeatedly been aired on ABS-CBN TFC channel middle east. We believe this is illegal because campaign period is yet open according to COMELEC. Wondering why ABS-CBN allowed and tolerate it?, maybe because of MONEY…

    Irritated Taxpayer Says:

    i am asking for a legislation where on the last year of term, the president has to ask for permission before going on trips abroad.

    what’s the point when the election is near?

    and the travel budget would best be well used by the incoming president.

    Wilfredo G. Villanueva Says:

    The Single Most Important Reason I am for Noynoy: He Knows He is in for a Crucifixion

    When Ninoy stood up from his seat
    in the China Airlines plane,
    flanked by military men sent to pick him up,
    he didn’t know that he would be shot

    When Cory said yes to the clamor
    to run against the dictator,
    she didn’t know she would be faced
    with seven failed power grabs,
    and an unappreciative nation
    right after her term

    When Noynoy today accepted
    the challenge to continue the fight
    his parents started,
    he knows he’s in for a crucifixion

    Cheers will turn to jeers
    when he takes sides,
    he will have enemies he didn’t know existed
    he will have many sleepless nights
    wondering how he can ever satisfy
    a nation in the cusp of progress,
    yet unwilling to let go of its culture
    of pakikisama, utang na loob and such

    Noynoy knows what he’s in for
    That makes him doubly courageous

    That’s why I’m for him
    He wanted the cup to be passed to
    someone else, but he looked around
    and there was none
