I WAS shocked and aghast at Batangas Governor Armand Sanchez’s comment that it would take Vilma Santos-Recto three hours to apply makeup before being able to face people.
I am a married man, and I think such a comment before his loyalists and constituents was an insult to womanhood. I couldn’t believe I was hearing a politician say that in this 21st century, when there are successful women politicians all over the world. How politically incorrect!
Obviously, Sanchez needs better education, and obviously he needs to apologize to Ms Santos-Recto and to everybody. Such a blow below the belt, against a woman at that, has no place in our civilized society.

SANCHEZ was really wrong from all angles. I was born in Cebu, I grew up in Pangasinan, and I worked in Bohol. I have been to places in the Philippines, and nbow in the world. Just try to see Lipa city and you will know what Vilma Santos Recto did. If you are not contented, then you are free, establish a residency there and run for public office and we will see your worth!

I’m not prejudiced against actor and actresses. You just need to ask a very simple question to know whether she is effective or not.
What action has she done during her term as local government officials that created positive impact to her constituents. What i mean is not changing of street names or beauty contest. But HARD evidence that under her leadership something great had happened. I guess NONE . PLEASE tayong mga PINOY, matatlino tayo but we don’t use it. GONE are those days that we live alone in this world. GLobalization is not POPULARITY, it s about COMPETENCE, INTEGRITY and MAN/WOMAN OF ACTION. If you want your livelihood to remain at its dismall condition, GO ahead and vote without your brains.

I agree. Such statement of Sanchez should never be tolerated.
I’m no Vilmanian nor a Batangas resident but this should be enough to prove that at times it is even better to vote for someone who have had background in the entertainment industry and had the initiative to get herself educated to aid her legislative or administrative functions than someone who makes the whole entertainment revolves around himself.Enough for those elected officials who are better of (or worse) than real actors.
