I THOUGHT I’d support Alan Peter Cayetano’s senatorial bid. But, after hearing that he would vote for abolishing the Senate), I’d say the people should not waste their votes on him.
We need an even stronger Senate, and the least we could have are senators who believe in having two houses of Congress. It is bad enough that the House of Representatives sold us for the price of their pork barrel. Now, the last thing we need is a Senate with members who do not believe in the importance of its role in the checks and balances that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has weakened.
Let’s have senators who will serve our people and our Constitution well, not senators who see only the political title and power that come with an elected position.
As Cayetano has shown his real political color, I am hoping that the Genuine Opposition (GO) will drop him from its senatorial slate.
The senatorial race is beyond fighting Arroyo and the First Gentleman, although that is a collateral benefit and a necessary and almost inevitable result of going for GO.

I hate to disagree with you guys but amongst the platform of government of all the senatorial candidates, only alan peter cayetano’s which I found very concrete. The way he planned to fight corruption and how to uplift the living conditions of the filipino people is very concrete and precise and very “doable”. Unlike (chavit) singson’s, very general. Just by listening to him (singson), you would easily know that he is one of those traditional politician that keep on promising things just for the sake of promising. With regards to cayetano, there are really a particular procedures on how to attack the problems.
I believe cayetano is serious on whatever he is saying. I just hope that people will give him a chance to serve on the national level.

Your right, Estrada and GO are fooling the ‘masa’. The ‘masa’ should know that these are the people who should be blamed for the country’s misgivings, instead of cooperating for the economy’s sake, they do more media stunt to discredit the government more and worse, some of their allegations are not true.

you just take a look at the composition of the “GO”… maceda, john osmena, binay, and the young guns like cayetano. wow! and they talk about “tanggalin ang nakaupo!” para sila naman ang mabalik sa kapangyarihan at gumawa ng corruption? para lalong maghirap ang bayan? wala na silang tiwala sa justice, army at ano mang sangay ng gobyernong ito na hindi nag-oopose. ang gusto nila yung umaatake sa gobyerno… na nagiging dahilan ng lalong pagkasadlak nating masa sa hirap… para tumakbo ang natitira pang investors na nagbibigay sa masa ng trabaho… gusto nila mabaon tayo sa utang para maeron silang mapag usapan.. gusto nila ng gulo dahil sa kidnapping, election killings, ang mga ofws na naiipit sa ibang bansa… para may maisisi sila sa gobyerno… sabay-sabay silang natutuwa at nagagalak kung ang ibang bansa ay nababahala sa mga pangyayaring masama sa ating bansa.. doon sila nabubuhay at sumisigla.. tignan mo nang matagal ang grupong “GO” at ang kanilang among si erap at isipin… ito ba ang papalit para tayo ay makabangon? wag naman po sana!
God bless us!
