“IT was just a courtesy call,” said the actress Vilma Santos, mayor of Lipa City who wants to run for governor of Batangas province. “I hope it will not be misinterpreted. I went to see the officials of Iglesia ni Cristo just to pay my respects.”
This is another “trapo” [traditional politico] talking, and she’s beginning to show her colors.
Anybody who goes “mano po” to the Iglesia ni Cristo is a turncoat and a coward, does whatever he or she can to get a lots of votes.

With all due respect, it is difficult to mix Religion and Politics.
We should seek to answer the fundamental question of WHAT accomplishment she made during her stint as Mayor, because good and bad accomplishment transcends beyond religon , everyone is affected.
If i could find a solid evidence of her past accomplishments and her new flatform of governance will provide opportunity for her constituents to have a decent job to pay for childrens education, social services within her district. I will surely vote for her regardless of her religous orientation.

Vilma Santos deserves to be elected as Governor of Batangas after successful 9 years of service as Lipa Mayor…As a member of INC, I urge my beloved INC to vote for Vilma not because she is an actress but she did a lot of good things for Lipa. Without INC, Mayor Vi will still win but INC will help a lot too! Those critics must give something constructive not destruction crticism…vote wisely

Vilma Santos has my vote, but sorry, I’m not from Batangas. I will trust my province to even an actress if it means better governance and delivery of basic services for the greater good. And if she fails me, I could always say no to her the next time around. She has proven her mettle in Lipa; she deserves a crack at the capitol. At least, she isn’t like other politicians who have to act their spiels in order for voters to recognize them. She doesn’t have to, becasue she wears her badges up her sleeve. Her mayoral stint bears them out.

this is so true! I admire Ms. Santos as an actress but never as a government official. This character shows that she is a TRAPO and so defensive of her actions. In fact, during the days when she was not so sure yet of running for the office she is making a political drama so as to win the emotions of the people. Nad now as for the EVAT thingy she is proud of his husband? GOOD LUCK for her! EVAT is not the solution to allocate the necessity of the people especially the masses —- GOOD GOVERNANCE would be the solution!
Vilma Santos pang drama ka lang hindi pang politika!
