PEOPLE are so angry — and that’s what scares me about the elections. My mom always told me nothing good ever came out of anger. I don’t understand who came up with the opposition tagline “Plan Co Revolt,” but it certainly doesn’t bode well for the future if those angry oppositionists win most of the Senate seats up for grabs. We’ll have rallies everyday, no law will be passed in the Senate because they’d want to do endless investigations and privilege speeches, they’d invade the evening news with endless complaints. All the more that the Senate will be useless as an institution.
On May 14, let’s vote with sobriety and good sense. Let’s review the candidates’ records in legislation — if they passed good laws, or if they did zilch.

Ha ha, I reserve the right to hold my electoral choices in secrecy. Let’s just say some of my Senate choices are not the “popular or famous” ones; and even then I was clutching at straws. The list was not really filled up.
In any case, the analysis I have been doing for years now are based also in the historical experiences we had especially during the Marcos regime.
For several years I had predicted that the Gloria administration was slowly creeping towards a try at dictatorship as her administration’s actions were geared towards roughly the same strategies of Marcos to attain dictatorial rule only with a different color and twist.
Right now, I believe that Constitutional Change will still be pushed via 3rd parties and when the opportunity is ripe, the administration will support this in every way they can.
Other predictions would be the increasing propaganda regarding “growing leftist influence” to justify cracking down all that oppose the Gloria administration and labeling everyone including their Rightist enemies as colluding with the leftist.
Continuous harping on the victory by the administration in the local level will also be promoted in order to save face and rally allies who are starting to become afraid of the anti-administration sentiment.
Attempts will be done shortly on or before 2010 for a last hurrah in extending her administration’s rule. The military and the police will increasingly be involved in this as Gloria is easily tempted to extend her term.
The non Kampi political allies of the President will be eased out or kicked out if they can. What happened to Joe de Venecia is just a manifestation of their intentions but actually not yet the real thing. This will also happen to other lawmakers who thought they are allied to the administration but actually are in danger of being booted out if they are not Kampi.
This is just a sample of events that would likely come.

With the shenanigans that Gloria has done in the recent past, I doubt if she is considered the lesser evil. Only now did Bunye tell Mike Velarde that they would still pursue the Charter Change initiative. They once again would want to open the ugly possibility of an unlimited term for Presidency or Prime Ministership.
Accepting Gloria as a lesser evil while there are no one else around? That would simply give her room to manuever to change the Constitution for unlimited term to install herself in one of the top positions. The possibility for someone to replace her would be moot as she makes a modified “constitution” power grab.
If it takes an unknown quantity or person to replace someone who twists the law for an unlimited term and a penchant for dictatorial tendencies, I would take that alternative anytime. It is not a question of personality; even leadership is only secondary.
The primary thing that a President must have is to have high moral standards, integrity, honesty, love of freedom and democracy, transparency and accountability; all of this are found wanting from the one presently holding the reins of power.

Pa’no niya matupad ang pangarap ng Pilipinas, ni pangarap ng kanyang distrito hindi niya natutupad. To the author of the blog. I agree with you 100%, I second the motion. Sana naman itigil na nila yong maraming daldal at walang kwentang pagmamarcha kung saan saang lansangan. Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit wala sa mga GO ni isa akong ibuto dahil sa walang klarong plataporma ang inilalatag nila sa publiko. Isa akong OFW na nakakaramdam ng paglakas ng piso, dapat magagalit ako dahil bumababa ang naipapadala ko sa Pinas, pero hindi mas taas noo ko dito sa ibang bansa kompara sa ibang lahi na sasabihin ko na mas malakas ang piso namin sa kanila. Though there are a lot of Filipinos who mis interpret this. Tama lang ang sabi nila na ang pag-aabroad in the near furture ay maging option na lang, kasi kung susuportahan natin ang ganda ng ating economic momemtun, hindi rin malayo sa katotohanan na maging competitive ang local job market compara sa abroad.

Kung maganda leadership ni GMA hindi sya papayag dto alam nya dahil babalik din sa kanya. Pero wala talaga ako maisip na lider. Hindi manalo ang opposition sa CEBU! Kahit ayaw namin ang ilang UNITY TEAM candidates. Bakit? Ayaw namin maulit ang nangyari noon. Makalimutan ba namin ang sinabi ng isang senador na GO? “MAGPO-ASA KAYO(magtiis/maghirap kayo) ng si ERAP ay nanalo at natalo sa Cebu. Isa pa walang matino na mga candidato ang GO sa Cebu, para itaguyod sila. Sa tingin ko ito lang ang GO na manalo dito dahil sa sariling sikap: LOREN (dahil nasa sample ballot ng BO-PK), VILLAR (dahil sa Advertisement & TUCP), LACSON (dahil sa mga kaibigan @ performance dito sa Cebu ng siya ay nasa PNP) at baka dahil siya ay Cebuano or awa si Sonny O.

I can imagine if tuta ni Gloria wins this election. All the corruption will be swipe under the rugs. Its because the so call opposition will be lose again because of the cheating just like what happen in 2004. Presidential election.
I rather see the opposition wins most of the seat’s in congress atleast we have somebody can check all the corruption. Its bad enough that they’re checking on it but yet there is still so much corruption because Gloria Arroyo, And her supporter’s are covering it up! Just imagine if nobody going to check it up.

Ano ba tong nangyayari sa mga taga oposisyon? Gusto laging gulo. Di ba dati naman na silang nangurakot like ERAP kaya nga nakakulong. I dont really consider this oppposition people as our savior because they dont seem to know the meaning of PRINSIPYO!!! Si ERAP na kurakot, maraming babae, maraming mansyon at may jose velarde account, ngayon parang ang linis linis niya kung magsalita. Grabe ang dating pinatalsik nila sa pwestong si ERAP ngayon ang nagtataas ng kamay sa kanila??? Nasaan ang logic don? Nakakahiya kayo!!! Ano to laro laro lang. Tapos dagdag pa ang mga taong may Messianic Complex, Trillianes, Gringo, Lacson at kung sino sino na akala mo hindi nakakasuka ang mga pagmumukha sa TV. Parang sila lang talaga ang pwedeng magsolve ng problems ng bansa natin, mahiya naman kayo sa bansa natin. Grabe they throw conscience to the wind as easy as that maging senator or congressman man lang. Ang taong walang prinsipyo, walang pagpapahalaga sa bayan. Dont grandstand, file a case if indeed may katiwalian sa gobyerno. i am for choosing the right candidate based on their credentials and what they have done in the past. but with this “Plan Co Revolt” espoused by the GO opposition, i am afraid and hope that they will not be supported. their plan for the masses is based on hatred, fear, hopelessness as they continue to bombard us of what are bad in their opponent-candidates and not what they can do to uplift the masses and solve our problems; they do not trust the judiciary.. they mistrust our peace-keepers and branded them supporters of election cheaters… they mistrust the voting masses na sinasabi nila na bibilhin ng kalaban nila… they mistrust the capability of our country to get out of the economic woes (and they are just too happy when our economy fails)… they are happy when more people eat less and are sheltered less mainly due to their oppositionist stance scaring whoever investors still trust our country… i will never vote for them but am afraid that if they lost in this election they are again ready to paint a grim picture that they have been cheated and get the people to the streets to get hurt while they are in they are in the safety of their palatial homes as they did before… please naman!

I concur, the opposition’s stand is not good for the country. If you will think everything through, the current situation came upon because of their actions. Plus their mind conditioning through the media has went through the ‘masses’. Sad because I’m just one of the many voices that cannot be heard because people has accepted their accusations against the administration as fact. Thus, giving more room to their political war to continue..leaving our economy down.Not to mention that the party list has well adopted the oppositions accusations as a way to wage rallies everyday…which I think they do not understand what they are rallying against.
