Comparing the Philippines with Afghanistan

THE FOREIGN observers’ comparison of the Philippines with Afghanistan is really an insult if not biased.

They were allowed to observe anywhere here in the Philippines which I think they were not able to do in Afghanistan. I wonder if they were allowed to observe the polls in the villages of Afghanistan or just in the hotels.

I would suggest that they leave the Philippines immediately after they get what they want here and go back to Afghanistan where they feel safe.

I think we should accept the fact and take this criticism constructively. Our country is plagued by pests & corrupt public officials in general. Why should we pretend to the world that we do not live in a dusgusting country? I know the real truth really hurts and we are being compared to Afghanistan by foreigners. I accepted that as a challenge for me to work hard initiate the change even just for a little. I love my country, the Philippines, even though this is not healthy place to live, to raise a family, to exercise my basic rights and to fulfull my dreams. It is only a place for dreams to remain always as a dream. So Mr. Greg Saavedra, wake to the reality! You are just merely dreaming like those actors running for senate posts.

Hello! How are you, I hope everything with you is okay. And I hope your dream will come true! As we all have a dream.

Yes, We should except what the foreigner say because its true, Truth hurt. But, Thats the truth we can’t deny it. This should teach us a lesson. And try our best to work for better Philippines!

Like you said you love Philippines because that is the only country you know to live and rise your family. Some of us already left Philippines to find a better life abroad because we know that the Philippines is hopeless.

The problem is we don’t have a true democracy since most of the voters (belonging to the C,D) are manipulated by some greedy politicians.

You right, that’s the problem with too much democracy, its too much that people forgets about it like SALINA, she is exercising her democratic rights by saying that there is no democracy. Yan ang mga taong Galonggong.

    SALINA:

    Ms. Ott Says:

Democracy cannot be too much. It can only be perfected…kung hindi pa sapat. That is why included in Democracy is civic responsibility and part of this responsibility is the education of the masses, who are the voters and partakers in the governing of the country through their votes. I don’t think so.

It is not a myth that democracy will allow for freedom to triumph because embedded in its constitutions are protections of their inalienable rights….kung hindi diyan, mamamayani ang mga ulupong at mga sinungaling at mandaraya sa pamahalaan, lalu na sa mga local. Democracy thrives when people are actively participating because that’s the only way we can learn from one another. Even though we may not be all in agreement, somehow, we can learn something, unless otherwise, we are so tunnel vision that nothing can move us from where we are.

The rule of law, when promulgated by the true representatives of the people (kung hindi nanalo dahil nandaya lamang sila)…is the system that will allow democracy to work, that is if there are no groups who will intentionally disobey those laws, such as violating the terms of the constitution willfully, which I suspected as what happened during the EDSA 2.

Civic education is the key to helping our fellow poor kababayans to become full thinking participants in our democracy…but, first this administration must pay those teachers in Davao who are now demonstrating dangkasi hindi pa sila sumasahod magaapat na buwan na.
