IF we look at the results of the recent elections, both at the local and national level, I can’t help but see a tiny glimpse of hope budding up.
That is if we have to believe the analysis of the press of the circumstances surrounding these results. We are witnessing an upsurge trend of protest votes not only against GMA, but also against the system as a whole.
If for that alone, there is reason to begin investing our hopes on better politics ahead…

Ano ba talaga???

The way I analyzed the comments of some people, many are hopeless, because of this government and the system… (Some mentioned (g)od is dead…, etc…)
I think the result of the last election really shows the tide of PROTEST VOTES against GMA and some of her allies, and maybe against the system. Because whoever is in power will again encounter the same problem.
We NEED Change NOW!!!

TO WASTEDBRAIN
Just came across your blog dated 26May and I felt it imperative for me to correct your statement saying God is dead. Of course not, the reason why we celebrate Easter as GOD’S RESSURECTION FROM THE DEAD. Like what he said prior to His suffering, My kingdom is not of this world. We, as creatures, were created in the image and likeness of God, we have the faculties and appointed to be caretakers of Mother Earth. Man may have evolved from apes, but only man has an INFINITE soul which has 2 destinations depending on how you live your life on earth. Remember, that destination is INFINITE.

The fact is you’re able to post messages opposing the government as well as the likes of Salina indicate our freedom to oppose the government. And don’t tell me that post-Marcos babies suddenly became courageous, because there are too many of them around.

E.O. 464, monitoring and closure of the presses, warrantless arrests, destroying the right of free speech and public assembly, CPR, Garci cover-up by prosecution of Marine officers telling the tale of events in Lanao using via a midnight executive order, arrest of people wearing Tama na Sobra na T-shirts, …. ay talagang mahirap gawin ang ginawa ni Gloria.

Diego K.Guerrero:
Wag mu sanang isali ang Cebu where GMA cheated in the 2004 election. Cebuanos deliberately voted for her and I think most of us gave one voice to the nation at that time. The opposition’s witnesses presented in the media where drug addicts in Cebu, and they had criminal records. When those witnesses were paid, they were followed by one mediaman and were even reported to have bought drugs for their price. Where is the credibility in that?
I am voicing out as a Cebuano, I would plead that you respect out vote at that time and not brand our clean province as a cheating place. It would be better to brand Cebu as GMA’s bailwick. Cebuanos are just mature voters and does not go for allegations which the opposition cannot support in their presented evidences.

Philippines bogus President Gloria Arroyo has consistent negative trust ratings since the power grab in 2001. In fact she was rejected by the majority of the Filipino electorate in 2004 presidential election. The rubber stamp Philippine Congress proclaimed her the “winner? contrary to massive and systematic electoral fraud in Mindanao, Sulu, Cebu , Pampamga, Pangasisnan and Ilocos Sur. All protest and anomalies by the opposition were merely NOTED by her political allies in the joint congress vote canvassing. The repeat of 2004 electoral fraud is happening in Maguindanao, Lanao, Sulu and Cotabato. The resignation of Comelec Commissionaire Abraham Sarmiento as Maguindanao poll investigator can be interpreted as he can no longer stomach Malacanang’s dirty works. He cannot produce thru hocus focus millions of votes in favor of losing TU bets.
The result of the senatorial race in favor of the opposition reflects the true sentiments of the Filipino people. Filipinos want her out. In her own turf, Pamapanga province two of GMA allies were castigated and rebuked by a crusading priest. Malacanang and the Comelec are desperate to change the outcome of election results in Moslem Mindanao regions thru massive and systematic electoral fraud in favor of Gloria Arroyo’s Team Unity. Evil Gloria Arroyo and her trusted dog Benjamin Abalos are inviting people’s uprising. Rebellion is justified if discredited and abusive government force their agenda against the will of its citizens. It’s not right to send senators in the halls of congress without a popular mandate. Filipino patriots must protect sacred votes at all cost.

A nation fights back? FIghts back against what? Electing new set of politicians who will be same? Who will begin the stealing from scratch? You know how we can fight back? Simple.
Behead those that are corrupt. Get two or three and make examples of them in luneta with full radio and television coverage. That will send a chlling warning to those who will do the same.
That will be fighting back.
Anything else is useless- fighting words but without substance.
And then when the new breed begins their hurakot, we will spend time again writing complaints on these blogs.

Whoever will win after counting all the ballots would think of himself as of service to the country.I hope he/she won’t be a problem to our beloved nation. It’s quite hard to think about after previous elections that there were some good leaders whom we voted but where are they now? People voted for them thinking that they can lead the country well. Now that we voted for new lawmakers, I wish and hope that our laws(myriad laws) would be strenghtened and implemented wisely with the spirit of nationalism. I hope there was no big mistake of exercising our suffrage. But they are in jail na masarap ang buhay! Isn’t it unfair? Is this provision in our constitution still applicable to what is happening now? I hope we did understand with the real meaning of this word - VOTE!

The election results clearly show that Filipino people are deviating from the present administration. Positive or negative? I have my reservations. All that is certain is that after the elections, and senators are validly declared, our struggle for unity and prosperity does not end there. We can only watch and pray that voters were right in choosing there candidates.

A nation fights back
——————————————————————————–
BY MINGUITA PADILLA, MD
The stage was set, the agents of darkness with their vote shavers had been strategically deployed, the grotesque machine that worked so well in the past to thwart the people’s will was again brought out and oiled; and even before the voting began it was all over save for the tainted canvassing. Or so they thought.
A gross miscalculation; one brought about by blind arrogance; this is what the administration, Mr. Abalos, and the seasoned Comelec “operators” trained in the dark art and science of election fraud in the ‘School of the Garci’; committed. Even months before the midterm elections, all the signs of the planned cheating were there for all to see. Many writers have documented these in the weeks past, but some are still worth mentioning. From reports of stolen election returns which were nonchalantly dismissed by the Comelec chairman as “nothing to worry about’’; to the blatant attempts on the part of Mr. Abalos to hide the truth about the party lists, to the brazen sabotage of Alan Cayetano’s candidacy and the insane pronouncements of “Justice” Secretary Raul Gonzales” for their votes for his chosen candidate; the list was enough to make one physically sick with disgust.
While we had hoped our fears would be proven wrong, the entire country and much of the world now know that the wholesale cheating that went on, and is still going on during this last election, is the worst, most brazen,

Magulong halalan
——————————————————————————–

How do they knows that? If they’re not cheating. In fact there is solid evidence against them. Just like in May 10, 2004. Presidential election. The only problem is even though you present your proof that they’re cheating these idiots in Malacanyang palace et al. Just cover things up! so that their candidates will wins a seat. This time around don’t let them. we must fight tell the end!

Anong klaseng paglago?
——————————————————————————–

Truth of the matter is the Philippines economy deteriorating under her stolen administration. And thats the truth.

************
Fr: Salina.
All I can say about Joker Arroyo, is he’s a joke! paano hindi siya manahimik eh most of his wednesday group laglag sa kangkongan. Dapat laglag din siya. Sukat akalain mo na he’s protector of Mr. & Mrs. Pidal’s. Thats all he’s going to do in the next congress, Start protecting Mr. & Mrs. Pidal’s. Lets watch him. He was saying kong “BAD KA LAGOT KA” Is not true! kasi bad yon amo niya but he’s the one protecting them. In my book he’s the protector of the crooks!!!

Oil price hike sumirit pa
(JB Salarzon)
“We’ll increase prices of gasoline, kerosene and diesel by 50 centavos per liter and liquefied petroleum gas by 50 centavos per kilogram effective 12:01 Saturday morning,” ayon sa mensaheng ipinaabot ng opisina ni Kanapi.

Many trapos still won and the system will stay for a along time. If we ever shift to a parliament or federalism, same families will hold the key positions.
In some of the election surprising outcomes, I do not call them protest votes. People are just exercising their freedom to vote for people who they think embodies their beliefs.
May 27th, 2007 at 5:33 am
nothing new in the Philippines…Political Dynasty are still entrenched in Philippine politics…members of political dynasty just exchange places so they could maintain their hold on their place….Massive vote buying still exist…no matter what the candidate personality trait is it’s the money that counts when getting a vote…the only good thing that came out of this so called election is that no celebrity was voted in the Top 12, kudos to filipino voters for that…it’s a sad state for our country…election is not for electing good candidates but getting to be business for the candidates, voters and comelec officials. The more money you give out the great chance you get elected.

Aside from that if they’re not going to sell their votes, Nanakawan naman nila. So, whats the different. Mabuti pa ipagbili mo nalang may makain ka pa. But at the same time, vote to somebody who you think can run this country better. tapos ang usapan! Oh, Di ba?…..Ayos, Ang buto buto, Ika nga.

I am contemplating on the current trend of the senatorial race. Antonio Trillanes and Gringo Honasan will most likely make it as senators. If this is an indication of the peoples sentiments, then their (Trillanes and Honasan) actions are justified and they have been vindicated by the public’s approval. It seems that there is a strong support to oust the current head of state by whatever means. Mike Velarde is right, the current occupant of the seat of power should listen to the people’s call, “vox populi, vox dei”. We can only pray that the transition will be peaceful and lawful.

I cannot blame those Filipinos who show their righteous indignation over the maladaptive governance by the Arroyo Administration ranging from its failure to stop the killings of journalists, rampant machinations of political votes, and to the point of compromising our revered values in the aspect of forging for unity and progress of the Philippines. While it is true that one may have disenchantments, disillusionments and
disappointments in the lack of moral ascendancy of La Gloria to govern, the system of democracy that we behold is not all the causative factor. Nevertheless, there is nothing wrong with the system that respects the individual right of political suffrage. But, if the man sells his votes, the man, not the system, is to blame. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with the system that upholds one’s elective position, but if the man abuses his authority and runs away from his responsibilities, the man, not the system, is to blame. Nonetheless, I hold democracy faultless, but, it is imperilled. The signs are clear. And, like they say, “blowing in the wind.”
What can we, the young Filipinos, do in order to restore our country back to the folds of the true democratic principles?
Why are there no more trees in the forests and no more waters in almost all
of our rivers?
Why are the rich so few?
Why are our doctors go abroad and work as regular nurses, if not ordinary caregivers?
But, still, I hold democracy faultless!

In most countries abroad, we won praise for being a democratic and freedom loving people, a nation of tribulations and trials and yet remained surviving and kicking. In South east Asia alone, we rose up as people with talents, skills and flexibility and our workers are one of the best, wether in the Middle east or America. I hope this qualities that we had as a great nation, would continue to inspire our leaders and people to make our beloved Philippines fully developed, peaceful and poverty-free.

People said that Filipinos under the Marcos regime are cowards, but at least people showed up and took the fight to the streets, boycotted elections and refused to rubber stamp the dictator’s initiatives. This so-called “text generation” that we have now on the other hand, would go far as to toy on the way they exercise a fundamental right of suffrage out of mere spite and so willingly propped up people like Lacson, Trillantes and Honasan. People who say that this is a success for democracy are naive and ignorant of the meaning of the word. Democracy is only realized when it is used for the ultimate gain of the country. It demands responsibility from people who have the right to exercise it. And you are irresponsible and accountable to future generations not only because we have to pay these criminals you elected out of our tax-payer money but also because of what this country will become after they have served their terms!!

Why do we protest by bringing in people who would be the objects of future protests? We are going around in circles. Many are doing their best but the tribe of those who do their worst is also increasing. Oh, self interest disguised as patriotism!! Out of this thicket now appears a fresh face: Fr. Panlilio. Let us see. I love it that nobody from the world of make-believe made it to the Senate.

on one point i agree with you - our nation has excellent resources.
but on most part,i dont.
1. forget about hell - this country - because demons - GMA along with her minions and some lousy anti-GMA,non of them are actually better - here have just expanded their territory.
2. stop praying for this country, there is no hope for those who are in hell, besides, god - the defenders of our constitution - is dead.
3. there is no good in most of our people, although there some who are, they are outnumbered…and outgunned. come to think about the pathetic muslim people in mindanao with their blind obidience, with a little cash you can hire them.
the phillpines is greatmesoecially in mocking it’s own laws. so if i were you,i rather not get back here, besides, thats the reason why you left, right? to search for a greener pasture - heaven.
oh sweet, the country has gone crazy, totally crazy…oh yes,i remember, our system is democrazy, right, right.

Palace hits Pimentels over ‘unfounded’ accusations of fraud
ADMINISTRATION officials on Friday accused Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. and his son, Genuine Opposition (GO) senatorial candidate Aquilino III, of conditioning the minds of the public that they were cheated off their possible victory in the elections by threatening to file criminal charges following alleged election sabotage and election fraud.
Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) spokesman Sergio Antonio Apostol said the threat of Aquilino Jr. to file the charges is aimed at saving face in case Aquilino III loses.

“In the first place, what the hell is Palparan doing in Lanao? The people there are already terrorized by warlords. They don’t need a berdugo to terrorize them some more into voting for GMA’s candidates,” ayon naman kay Bayan Muna party-list Rep.

Arturo Lomibao at retired military Gen.
Sa panig nina PNP chief Director General Oscar Calderon at AFP chief of staff Gen.
It can make or break a candidate from the 9th position down to the 12th slot.”
(Rose Miranda/Tina Mendoza/Al Jacinto/Nilo Marasigan

What protest vote? If the people really wanted GMA removed, they could have easily voted all opposition candidates in the local level.
Do not forget that impeachment is initiated in the Lower House and not the Senate. What will the preponderance of opposition senators do good to the country? They can whine, whine and whine but GMA remains the President. What will be the victim? The country and the people at large.
What the results in the recent election point to is the continued stalemate in the legislature. The victim is the legislative agenda of the Administration for the next 3 years. Maybe, we will be seeing a re-enacted budget year in and year out until 2010. And we expect movement in the economy?
The problem is we dwell too much on GMA when all she’s got is 3 years and she’s gone. We want to punish GMA not knowing that by being too personal, it is not GMA who is the victim but our country.
What? Electorate has become discerning? Come on. Come 2010 when at least 3 of the GO senators will run for the presidency and tear one another apart, we will see the same spectacle of voters selling their votes, candiates out-spending one another.
The problem is not GMA but the system and the people. We are quick to blame others specially GMA but we forget that as citizens, we are even worse. Just look at the streets everyday how we as a race behave.
May 25th, 2007 at 7:47 pm
Protest is not enough! There are protest after protest every election cycle. How long will you people continue to protest? The result will be the same (you all should have realized that!). Protest, vigil prayers, novenas, masses will not change the result of the election. I hope you all agree so far. What’s the solution? Let me share my two-cents approach…
Those who felt they were cheated, which all of the losing candidates and their supporters, should force the adminstration to resign for not guarding/protecting/holding a fair election. Let me add also, that even those who said they were the opposition, will not help you find the truth if there were any irregularities in the election process, since they already “won” and are eagerly situated to get their “payback” through corruption in lieu of their position. Civil disturbances is necessary even if it ikamatay ng tao. Freedom is not free- as we say it here! You will never understand what freedom, liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness means, unless you have it….
Unless, again, you are all satisfied with the status quo, then do nothing…Would you always be satisfied if your nieghboors keep on cheating on you? Would you do nothing if your freedom, your children’s freedom, your grandchildren’s freedom was/is/will be taken away from you/them? Would you just keep dreaming of a better life, instead of pursuing it? If you answer yes, to even just one of the above question, then do something. DO SOMETHING. Blogging will not change anything!

The 2007 mid-term elections showed the Filipino people’s resounding rejection of the Macapagal-Arroyo government.
The votes garnered by senatorial aspirant LtSg. Antonio Trillanes IV, in particular, flies in the face of an administration which continues to face a crisis of legitimacy.
While the Senate is headed for an opposition-dominated chamber, Malacanang has lost no time in trumpeting their continued hold over the rubberstamp House of Representatives through their 195 elected lackeys in the 14th Congress.
Mrs. Arroyo continues to ride on the crest of an illusion that the elections are peaceful, that the reforms she has in place can be pushed through her puppet Congress despite an opposition-dominated Senate, that the country can move forward.
Mrs. Arroyo has failed and has failed miserably.
Together with the mercenary Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), she has unleashed all the might and resources of the state to thwart the electoral victory of both the opposition and the legal Left.
Never since the Marcos regime did we see an AFP brazenly engaged in partisan political activities by campaigning against and vilifying militant party-list groups like Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Kabataan and Suara Bangsamoro. Note that Bayan Muna alone has suffered the fiercest attack of the state as evidenced by the killings of 131 of its members since its entry into the electoral arena in 2001.
Despite this, Bayan Muna is still poised to win seats in Congress.
Mrs. Arroyo and the de facto president, Eduardo Ermita, have gloated over the entry of the 195 minions in the Lower House who are set to block any moves by the opposition to unseat the illegitimate president.
They couldn’t be too sure. The people can never be underestimated. The massive electoral fraud being launched by the fake president and her cabal of generals during this elections may just trigger a broad and popular uprising Mrs. Arroyo has so desperately prevented from materializing.
There is hope. It starts with removing the illegal occupant in Malacanang.

Isolate the local results as these depended on local conditions, let us assume that the national results are reflections of the national sentiments (that is, that there was an election and people actually voted).
Focus on the Honasan and Trillanes votes. One is an independent and the other is detained even tho he is affiliated with a party. Do the number of votes they got count the number of people who believed in their stand? It is now 8 million and counting.
I have the feeling of a boiler about to reach its breaking point if this much people would agree that to solve a problem, the extra ordinary way is the right way. I believe we better start to listen with a clear mind what they are saying. 8 million and counting!!!!

Protest vote against what? GMA? But who did people vote for? The so called genuine opposition seems to be another bunch of obstructionists presidential wannabes. For example, Mr. Trillanes said that the first thing he plans to do as senator is to start up another impeachment drive. I’m sick and tired of it all. I say let GMA finish her term. The economy is just starting to take off. Give it a chance. Another impeachment/coup/edsa people power will set us back again. Let’s all work together to help our country, not destroy it. Say no to Genuine Obstructionist and Genuine Opportunists!

I don’t have a bet each way on Philippine politics. I am an Australian thinking of investing in South East Asia…From what I can see, the result of the Philippine election will be an opposition dominated Senate and an administration dominated Congress. There will be a gridlock on passing important economic bills. So I don’t think anything will be done economically for the next 3 years and I for one will not put any investment in the Philippines during this time. It is still too risky politically. On the other hand, I am happy for those investing in hope for a better politics for your country.
May 25th, 2007 at 11:53 am
i dont see the results although dominated by the opposition as a “protest vote”. i think it’s good that senate is opposition dominated while the house and local government are administration dominated. there is therefore check and balance. i have said it before and repeat that Pro Go does not necessarily mean Pro ERAP or anti-GMA. the people voted based on performance or at least perceptions of good previous performance. plus we as a nation traditionally goes for the opposition, who are usually the underdogs. however, lately it is not easy to identify which are really the evil ones. most in the opposition now were our enemies too during the times of marcos, cory and erap. after all, weather weather lang iyan.
May 25th, 2007 at 11:23 am

i agree with you… there are lots of reasons to be apprehensive… but then we can’t just wallow in the “crisis of hope” that the filipino now suffers. if there’s any major compliment to the culture of corruption, that would be it.
May 25th, 2007 at 10:11 am
Only the first step, and it deserves a pat on our backs. Our goal should be to break the systematic corruption in all the elective branches of gov’t by subjecting our “public servants” to constant public audit.
However, this first step might even not complete its cycle if the Administration loses its grip in the desperation to strengthen it. It is what is called a saturation point. Comelec is still at it. The proclamation of the top 9 has been called off.

May 25th, 2007 at 9:07 am
I felt sorry for Marie Gonzales, just like the opposition candidate Jose “Pepe” Santos of Orion, Bataan, whom I personally both know and dear to my heart, lost to the incumbent mayor due to massive cheating, fraud and tampering of ballots because I was there and witnessed it. I thought that we can count on the local enforcement (PNP) but then found out during the canvassing period (3 days and nights) were actually aiding in these kind of malpractice, even firing shots in the air to scare the people. I am out of the country already and still try to comprehend what happened. I was disgusted by the election turn out. Not only that, the incumbent mayor was even posting on his web site that he was vindicated by the black propagandas against him and his family. Hello! Get real! If there’s no smoke there’s no fire. You’re as good as your pigs.
May 25th, 2007 at 8:57 am
The Filipinos efforts to rid our nation of election cheats within and outside government is heartening. We must not let our guard down though, we still have a long way to go and more trapos to remove.
May 25th, 2007 at 8:34 am
Wish and hope all the best for those davids in pampanga, n.e., bulacan, isabela, who defeated the incumbent whose on power for a long period of time but not accomplished good enough for the people. hope they will do well and provide good service fo the people and maintain their good intention of service and satisfy with what they supposed to receive and not be corrupted themselves, so that many more new faces will come in to replace the trapo (basahan man pag matagal ng gamit pinapalitan ng bago), to these neophites dont fail your countrymen who is hoping and counting for you. otherwise these small glimpse of hope will come into nought. Also a good sign for actors/tress/sportsman unless you have proper eductional and proven good service credential, not to run anymore for public office which are not meant for them. To the senators and congressman elected avoid dragging each other, not unless you can prove otherwise and stand by your principle, but kung papogi points lang wag na lang nakakasira lang lalo sa masama ng reputasyon ng ating bansa. It didnt’t make our country any better but brought shame on us, be sensitive, the first impression in our election here is that it won’t make any changes for good whatever the outcome. kilala na tayo na bansa na walang patutunguhan kundi pababa, that is why we need to do something to gain the respect of our people and other countries as well.
May 25th, 2007 at 6:38 am
It took some time for most people to look at reality in the face and say this can’t go on forever. But still it is heartening. Many people waited for 14 years before toppling Marcos (14 years I say because his first term was credible).
This marks a time that peoples’ vigilance is quite remarkable. Now, if only Abalos and his henchmen are shown the door….

Did the people of Pampanga choose wisely?
Inquirer
Last updated 04:11am (Mla time) 05/25/2007
Given the state of the Philippine government, I cannot blame the people of Pampanga province for electing a priest as their governor. But is he really the answer to their problems? That remains to be seen. We don’t have to go far down in history to remind ourselves of what happened to our nation’s affairs of the state when an “artista [movie star] was elected.
Think of what former president Joseph Estrada did to our country. Are we repeating the same mistake? Catholic Philippines may not welcome my skepticism, but must I be blamed for it?
I, too, am hoping for the best for our country. But what will a Catholic priest do about our population problem? Will he be tolerant with our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters? What will be his stand relative to wives being abused by their husbands? What about those “pillars of society who finance illegal businesses and make large donations to Catholic Church projects? These are simple questions from an ordinary Filipino who is hoping for the best for our country.
How I wish the people of Pampanga had asked themselves these questions before casting their votes.

If they’re just going to set and do nothing then they all deserve what they’re getting. You have to do something even if you’re risking your life if you want change!
You’re be little Erap! Erap, Has not finish he’s term in the office. If he given a chance to finish he’s term he could be a good President. But, Gloria Arroyo, Et al. Kick him because they say that Gloria Arroyo, Can run the country better because she had a doctorate degree on economic.
Look where the Philippines today. Its been tag the number one corrupt in asia. Number two human violention in the entire world. Next to Iraq. Aside from that there is more filipino people are starving. So, Where is the booming economy they’re talking about.
Sabihin mo, Gloria Arroyo, Are lying to her teeth. Just to make her look good. Its the filipino people fault for letting her get away with it. Therefore we all deserve what we’re getting.

Obviously, elections are always an opportunity for change. Change for the better or for worse. It is for the better if the people elected makes it his personal agenda to improve the economy and the quality of life for everyone, young and old, rich and poor, opposition or administration. For me, it is simple enough and it starts with jobs, housing, peace & order, a clean environment, an efficient government and less destructive politics. However, worse if the people we’ve elected spend their time mud slinging, ganging up against one another, plunking “pork barrel” into pet projects to recover election expenses [sic], junkets abroad and a lot of talk and zero action. Remember, you just gave each elected official the right to disburse your hard earned taxes (if ever you paid any). We expect no less than excellence during this tenure.

This was not just only a tide but a tidal wave of protest votes, 8 against 2?! Because of the “Hello Garci” controversy, people became so vigilant in watching their votes and carefully study whom they will vote. Sabi nga, “the penalty that good men pay who are not interested in politics are that, they are governed by men worst than themselves”.

Let us count the cheating ways
FRONTLINE
Ninez Cacho-Olivares
05/25/2007
Here’s yet another way for Malacañang, through its discredited Commission on Elections (Comelec), to go into full-scale cheating for Team Unity (TU).
While it sounds like a harmless move from the Comelec to proclaim the nine senatorial winners, there is a harmful side to doing this, because once these winners are proclaimed, even when there would be more opposition candidates declared winners by the Comelec acting as a national canvassers’ board, given the tallies, it stands to reason that their votes would no longer be canvassed.
And this is where the danger lies. Since their votes will no longer be canvassed, the administration’s cheating machine can then work on these uncanvassed votes, and give them to the TU bets who have already been caught cheating too many times to get into the Magic 12 Senate slate.
*******************
Fr: Salina.
I agree with Ninez, 100% that the TU cheating operator’s will use the candidates votes that is not being counted anymore because they’ve pro-claim senator’s elect. Talagang garapalan na.

The tide of protest votes
05/24/07
Posted under Readers’ Blog Posts
IF we look at the results of the recent elections, both at the local and national level, I can’t help but see a tiny glimpse of hope budding up.
That is if we have to believe the analysis of the press of the circumstances surrounding these results. We are witnessing an upsurge trend of protest votes not only against GMA, but also against the system as a whole.
If for that alone, there is reason to begin investing our hopes on better politics ahead…

in as much as i would like to be optimistic on the future ahead i still think that there is still much hard work to be done not from the officials we voted this election but from us citizens ourselves. you see, they are only as good as how much we cooperate with them and do our part.
what im afraid would happen is that, the moment a certain senator would try to be a hero for all, the rest of the upper house would find a way to distroy his charater coz they very well know he would be a threat to their political career.
i think that is where the problem is, most politicians if not all sees public service as a profession rather than a vocation. The differens is the former is paid to do his work while the latter works because of love irregardless of pay.
another thing that im afraid would happen again is this “so-pinoy-mentality” where we vote for who we think is superman and when that superman sits in office we expect that he will solve all our problems by himself while we go on with our routine, i.e., disobeying traffic rules, litter, cheat taxes, engage in blackmarket, and when that superman is found to be not so super at all after a year or two we then start to mobilize our barkadas and have picnic in EDSA. then we sleep thinking we did our part as citizens, we’re the new heroes.
yeah yeah, mabuhay ang mga bagong bayani!
