The tide of protest votes

Posted under Readers' Blog Posts

IF we look at the results of the recent elections, both at the local and national level, I can’t help but see a tiny glimpse of hope budding up.

That is if we have to believe the analysis of the press of the circumstances surrounding these results. We are witnessing an upsurge trend of protest votes not only against GMA, but also against the system as a whole.

If for that alone, there is reason to begin investing our hopes on better politics ahead…

The way I analyzed the comments of some people, many are hopeless, because of this government and the system… (Some mentioned (g)od is dead…, etc…)

I think the result of the last election really shows the tide of PROTEST VOTES against GMA and some of her allies, and maybe against the system. Because whoever is in power will again encounter the same problem.

    We NEED Change NOW!!!

Just came across your blog dated 26May and I felt it imperative for me to correct your statement saying God is dead. Of course not, the reason why we celebrate Easter as GOD’S RESSURECTION FROM THE DEAD. Like what he said prior to His suffering, My kingdom is not of this world. We, as creatures, were created in the image and likeness of God, we have the faculties and appointed to be caretakers of Mother Earth. Man may have evolved from apes, but only man has an INFINITE soul which has 2 destinations depending on how you live your life on earth. Remember, that destination is INFINITE.

    TO KABAYAN
The fact is you’re able to post messages opposing the government as well as the likes of Salina indicate our freedom to oppose the government. And don’t tell me that post-Marcos babies suddenly became courageous, because there are too many of them around.

Oo nga mahirap tularan ang ginawa ni Gloria… E.O. 464, monitoring and closure of the presses, warrantless arrests, destroying the right of free speech and public assembly, CPR, Garci cover-up by prosecution of Marine officers telling the tale of events in Lanao using via a midnight executive order, arrest of people wearing Tama na Sobra na T-shirts, …. ay talagang mahirap gawin ang ginawa ni Gloria.

i blame myself too… because i can’t find myself in the position to inspire our fellow kababayans to invest hope in our country instead pointing fingers everywhere… we treat politics like a soap opera… politics shud be a vehicle for ordinary citizens to make their will be emobodied by the state and not a passtime to be carelessly churned over inuman and tsismis corners.
