The Capampangans made the right choice

Posted under Feedback

I AM writing in response to Mr. Escano’s letter to the editor dated May 25, 2007.

I recommend that Mr. Escano visit Among Ed’s website to get to know the character behind the person. He is likewise welcome to read and participate in our forum to get to know the people supporting Among Ed.

In response to your questions and concerns:

1. Among Ed is definitely not like Erap. In his 26 years in his priesthood, he never sired children from different women and he did not enrich himself even if he had access to millions of pesos as the head of the Social Action Center of Pampanga.

2. On population control. Population is not a problem in Pampanga. However, this issue will be tackle by Among Ed when he addresses the problem of poverty. Poverty is one major cause in the ballooning of our population.

3. Gays and lesbians. Among Ed has gay and lesbian supporters and he does not shun away from them.

4. Donations from illegal funds. To my knowledge, even as a priest, he didn’t knowingly accept any donations coming from illegal sources. One thing you should have tried to understand Mr. Escano is that Among Ed did not run out of his ambition to become famous or powerful. You should understand that we Capampangans did not have a viable choice for governor before he joined the campaign. One is the wife of an alleged gambling lord while one is tainted with graft and corruption borne of the quarrying activities in Pampanga.

Were you in our position, Mr. Escano, what would you have done?

Just because you vote for Koko thats don’t mean he already win. In fairness to Zubiri. Why don’t you just wait the result of counting all the ballots. To my theory Koko win this election.

Not atleast the comelec succeed on their cheating operation. If that happen Koko well be planting KAMOTE in Mindanao. Make sure to watch all the ballots counting to make sure there is no hukos pocos going to happen.

Its hard to believe even the comelec operator doing the cheating for Gloria Arroyo, They did the same thing in May 10, 2004. Presidential election. How can anybody forget when this problem has not been resolve yet. Because the comelec and Gloria Arroyo, Just swipe everything under the rug.

For as long as Gloria Arroyo, The one in power nothing good well happen. All the corruption that is happening just going to trash it into the pasig river.

im one of the many kapampangan who long hope for a new and brigther dawn of my beloved province, but i keep on wondering when i read and hear about the outcome of the recent election in my province, im not against Gov. elect
Ed Panlilio just because he a man of church or whatever, what i wonder is being a priest is more supreme than any other office on this earthly life cannot undo the moral decadance engulping the the life of the people including the youth and even the people who govern the province when in fact almost all of them belongs to his fold, can he now being a governor with only earthly power can perform the miracle, unless we believed that earthly power is supreme than heavenly one, never the less i one of the many pray for his success.

why don’t you give him a change on what he can do. The reason kapangpanga vote for him because they want change. Change for the better pangpanga. This is no alternatives.
Don’t judges him. Give him a change on what he can do. And pray for the best.

Ed Panlilio cannot do it alone, for major reforms to be implemented in Pampanga, the power of the PEOPLE and citizenry is needed to achieve this. It will be a battle galore between those who wish to stick to jueteng and other corrupt practices as a livelihood and with those who want change. I hope the people of Pampanga does not expect immediate miracles to happen because if they want real change the power is in THEIR hands.

Fr. Ed is simply a catalyst and a rallying point for these efforts. The people should understand this situation and likewise I hope that Fr. Ed would tap the citizenry and NGOs in this fight for change and reform in his area. His true power is in the decent people and organizations around him willing to help him every way they can.
