Reader reacts to ‘A class act’

06/01/07

Posted under Feedback, Mike Defensor

I LIKE best the last paragraph of your editorial especially the second sentence: “the need for vigilance continues…”

I always make it a point to read your editorial everyday when I come to work and that line hit me hardest. You inspire your readers.

I pray people like you will continue to be like you… doing their work with the highest integrity. Thank you.

It’s hard to forget Mike’s role in being an apologist for the wrong decisions of Gloria especially those which trampled Philippine democracy.

Yep! He never thought he’s going to loss because Gloria Arroyo, Spend plenty of money so that her candidates surely win this election. They understatement the filipino people.

The reason the opposition won this election because the filipino people had enough with her bullshit. They can only take so much. They have a choice do or die!

We don’t need to go to mindanao to find out whats going on. Talaga ang mindanao ay ginagamit every election for their cheating operation. If we ever held another election they should hold election in mindanao first so that the people who’s making plenty of money on this cheating operation finally go out of business.

And the politician who is using the padding shaving operation well think twice before running in office. We don’t need that kind of people in the office. We need somebody who can do their job they suppose too.

    Kim, hi!
Yes, it was nothing else but Defensor’s desperate attempt to make a “graceful exit”. In my book, it is more of a loser’s pragmatic act of salvaging whatever honor he has left. The way he did it, using his children as props was even more deplorable.

    Ms. Ott, hi!
Yes, I know of many friends, fellow nurses and relatives of the so-called “Sentosa 27″ who campaigned NOT TO VOTE, and did not actually vote for Defensor. When he chose to intervene in the Sentosa 27 nurses’ POEA case, he thought these nurses did not know how to fight back, he was dead wrong.

    Israel and Diego, hi there!
Yes, if only Defensor now comes out and exposes the irregularities in government (especially of those he was once a part of or even privy of), that would be a class act. He would, of course, earn the ire of those in power. But he would be forgiven by the sovereign people of his previous collaboration with the present dispensation, and who knows, his political life would be resurrected with a clean image.

    To Mike Defensor,
You have been co-opted. Once upon a time (during your student days), you mouthed slogans to protect the rights of the underprivileged. How dare you chose Sentosa Recruitment Agency and its foreign owners over our migrant workers who were duped by this agency? For your senatorial campaign fund? Nakakahiya ka/Shame on you! And now you talk of “honor”. Please spare us your “palabas”.
