Erap: ‘I have no intention of running’

Posted under 2010 Elections, Joseph Estrada

WILL he or won’t he?

Deposed president Joseph Estrada is now saying he has no intention of running for president in 2010.

Here’s an excerpt from the INQUIRER.net Breaking News story:

Estrada said that statements coming from his camp that he would run anew were aimed to challenge the opposition to be united and put up a common candidate in 2010 to ensure the opposition’s victory.

“Bakit sila matatakot, wala naman akong intensyong tumakbo [Why are they afraid. I have no intension of running],” he said. “I have no intention of running … I want to give chance to young leaders, to their advocacy, their idealism.”

He said he did not want a repeat of the 2004 presidential race when the opposition had other candidates other than the late actor Fernando Poe Jr.

He added he believed 2010 would be an opposition year, more so if they would unite and support a common presidential candidate.

As long as the pro poor gimic slogan prevails, we will always stay poor. Those winners can easily dupe those poor by giving them a little of this and a little of that while they get the bigger pie and they become more richer and the poor poorer. Kaya wag na kayong paloko !!!

Erap is yesterday and Gloria is today. Yesterday and today we are still the same hopeless people. Let us think for tomorrow for tomorrow there is hope.
    Para sa ikauunlad ng Bayan,
    Isang BAYANI ang kailangan!!!
Do I need to say more???
The current crop of aspirants fall way short to solve the country’s gargantuan problems. All of them don’t have the political will to institute reforms to bring about meaningful change in Governance, especailly graft & corruption except for Bayani Fernando. Villar is a Shrewd entrepreneur and Trapo, Roxas, an elitist who cleanses his hands with alcohol after every visit to the public market, Legarda, the obssessive senator, Pingky- his support comes from “nervous” Chinese businessmen, Noli- don’t have enough intellectual capacity, Erap, who doles out rice and sardines as exploiter of the poor, the others are all dreaming for the moon.
    Go Bayani Go !!!!

educating the voters on who to vote does not mean that the only criteria for voting is one needs to be an intellectual giant or that one should belong to the elite….look at the roster of those who were voted, they were voted because they are “sikat, artista, anak/kapaatid ng politiko, pogi raw, etc.” how can we convince the people to vote based on performance, esp. when the candidate of choice is not known(bec. he is not on tv always). ex. mayor belmonte….can he win? no, bec. he is not in the news, he is not given chance to be interviewed , but he is doing a lot for q.c. mayor robredo of naga…doing well in bicol. but will people vote for them? no, bec. they are not sikat, they are not newsworthy…if i am their image consultant, i will advise them to appear on all the channels everytime there is an issue, just like what some candidates are doing now….except for joker arroyo, all the senators were always on tv, loving every minute being interviewed, kahit walang katuturan sinasabi…
how do we change all these? i think the media can help us a lot. and we, in our own small way, can educate family, friends, neighbors. huwag natin iasa sa iba. tayo din, dapat magumpisa na, 2010 is near..
if i may borrow the battlecry….kung hindi ngayon, kailan pa?

Let’s educate the voters, abby, you and I. Let’s tell them to vote only for intellectual giants. Or, for member of the Elitist Society only.
