CHECK out this video taken by INQUIRER.net reporter Veronica Uy, which shows Senator Manuel Roxas II evading political and personal questions at the 777 Media Forum in Pasay City, Philippines.
Here’s an excerpt from Veronica’s article:
MANILA, Philippines–Senator Manuel Roxas II, who has been reported as the standard-bearer of the Liberal Party in the 2010 elections, has evaded all political questions regarding the presidential polls.
At a press conference in Pasay City, Roxas finished off all political questions with a presentation of three items on his legislative agenda: cheaper medicines, removing the value-added tax on petroleum products, and exempting minimum wage earners from paying income tax.
“[The elections] is still far off. We need to respond to the everyday needs of Juan Dela Cruz†was his response to questions regarding his presidential bid in 2010, the reported talks between the administration party Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats and his Liberal Party, and former president Joseph Estrada’s intention to run again in two years.

sometimes by evading we attract people’s attention. it’s a classic PR move by Mar Roxas. by the way, Roxas’ capacity to lead is evidenced by the sad state of Capiz and Roxas City. yeah, it’s the seafood capital of RP pero ang mahal naman. and Capiceños and their leaders are mere vassals of the Roxases. sometimes, what you see is not what you get all the time.

It is easy to attack someone like Mar right now, he evades questions about 2010 and his personal life, he is evasive and if he talks about 2010 he is too excited to run. Catch - 22! Personally, 2010 is a long way away, let the man focus on what he can and should be doing now and judge him if and when the time comes on what he actually did and the propriety of what he did. Can someone say he should have acted differently? Of course! But in that case, lets be consistent and look how everyone else acted in the same situation and at the same time. (Attention seeking opportunists especially). Simply put, when and if the time comes, can Mar be a good president? I would say that he has good credentials and currently untainted by any accusation of corruption (which we have really had enough of). For me, at the very least, that is a good start. Hope you keep it up Mar and prove your capacity to lead us, if and when.

When the birds were winning the war the bat said, “I am a bird, see. I have wings.” After a while, the tide of battle shifted, and the animals were winning. Said the bat after a thorough analysis of the situation, “I am not a bird. I’m an animal, see my sharp, sharp teeth?” And the war rages on and on, the tide of battle shifting intermitently, the bat never failing to declare his favored grouping for the moment. The King of the Jungle, being wise as any king could be, and the Lord of the Wing, being as eagled-eye as any lord, finally noticed the shifting declarations, took the wings of the bat from opposite sides then speed away to opposite directions.

From here till 2010…all candidates for president will have the flatforms , programs and solutions to be presented to the people ….like all the candidates(wanna be’s) Mar Roxas for a start can concentrate in these three following agendas…it touches the low income filipinos and he doesnt have to prove if he’s clean (politically) or not….somebody else has to do that!
