Migz or Koko?

01/14/08

Posted under Aquilino Pimentel III, Juan Miguel Zubiri

AQUILINO “Koko” Pimentel III has a “long way to go with poll protest,” according to Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.

Here’s an excerpt from the Philippine Daily Inquirer article:

Zubiri, whose 12th-place victory in last year’s senatorial election is being contested by Pimentel, said he was certain of serving the entire six years of his term despite what he termed the “mind-conditioning” by his rival in the ongoing recount of votes being conducted by the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET).

Zubiri was reacting to Pimentel’s claim that the empty ballot boxes from Sultan Kudarat province negated Zubiri’s 31,000-vote margin in the area, giving Pimentel a 12,000-vote lead over Zubiri in the national tally.

How about you? Who do you think really won?

Perhaps the anwser may lie eventually in the desire or maybe the capacity to handle the truth (ala X-files ba) on three sides: the comelec (with or without pressure from the Political warlords); the local voters; the candidates & their alipores. Hence, it appears that right now, it is only Pimentel who is interested to find out how things took place ( or did not happen) so he is a power of one. do you think he can constitute or puff up enough collective desire, interest, or leverage to push the process to move along a lil bit faster ? in short da Pinoy has nano-memory and is wont to wawsh their hands and in the dark recesses of their mind … hu cares ba talaga cept sila sila rin prang an enigma within a puzzle with chaotic problems at every turn …………. ngiyok

Obviously Zubiri, benefitted from cheating in Maguindanao, as masterminded by Lintang Bidol et al. Whether he had a hand or just benefitted is anybody’s guess. He will exhaust his resources, connections to maintain his seat.
Koko will be facing an uphill battle. But we can never underestimate the human spirit. Hopefully, he continue with his protest, because obviously it is the right thing to do.
