Why Filipinos should support Gov. Ed Panlilio

By Harvey Keh

For the past two weeks our group, Kaya Natin! A Movement for Genuine Change and Ethical Leadership released a stand supporting Pampanga Gov. Eddie Panlilio on the recall petition filed against him by his political opponents in Pampanga.

Since that time, several political leaders led by Vice-Governor Yeng Guiao and Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo have come out in media telling us to stay away from this issue since we are not from Pampanga.

In an interview over a national radio program wherein Vice-Governor Guiao and I were interviewed one after the other, Vice-Governor Guiao said that it is wrong for people outside Pampanga to meddle in issues such as this which should only concern the people of Pampanga.
As such, I have taken the initiative to explain why Filipinos from all over the Philippines and the world should support Gov. Panlilio. While I agree with Vice-Governor Guiao and Mayor Pelayo that at the end of the day, it will be the Kapampangans who will decide the fate of Gov. Panlilio, I do not agree with them that discussion and concern about this issue should be limited within the confines of Pampanga.

As we very well know, what happened in Pampanga during the 2007 Elections was a testament to the will of the Filipino people for good governance triumphing over traditional politics of guns, goons and gold.

With his victory over well-entrenched politicians Mark Lapid and Lilia Pineda, Gov. Panlilio and the people of Pampanga became symbols of hope for every Filipino who longs for ethical and morally upright leaders that will efficiently deliver basic services and address the needs of the poor and powerless in our society.

Thus, while Gov. Panlilio remains as the governor of only one province, his electoral victory coupled with his continued fight against illegal gambling and corruption in Pampanga has made him a symbol of new politics in our country.

It is with these reasons that politicians with vested interests are trying their best to oust him so that they can resume their money-making ventures at the expense of the welfare of the Filipino people.

While Gov. Panlilio has his own shortcomings as governor, I believe that compared to his predecessors he has done much more towards promoting transparency and accountability in the provincial capitol as evidenced by his remarkable 1000% increase in yearly quarry collections.

I distinctly recall during one forum I attended, a foreigner who works at a international institution here in the Philippines told me that the main problem of our country is that we cannot seem to get good people to consider running for public office and to become part of government.

Now, we were already blessed with someone like Gov. Panlilio who despite much hesitation to take a leave from the priesthood has decided to answer the call for well-meaning people to serve in government. The least that we can all do now is to support and help him so that other good people can be encouraged to also consider to serve in our government.

We have to remember that if Gov. Panlilio is recalled and removed from his position as governor of Pampanga, it will not only be a blow to good governance in Pampanga but more importantly, it will be a big step backward towards the fulfillment of every Filipino’s dream of having more government leaders who will effectively and ethically serve our nation. As the old adage goes, the only way for evil to prevail is if good men do nothing.

Sir Gov. Ed,
We’re all the way for you. Lolita Hizon turned her back on you. But that is the way it is. You can’t please everyone. What matters is that majority of well-meaning Kapampangans believe in you leadership. But also please take cognizance of the advice of other people outside your realm of comfort. Pray for your triumph.

Andres Hordista

The issue is a clear battle between good and evil. We have been cheering over the victory of Gov. Panlilio and the expose he made during the malacanang meeting earned the ire of dirty politicians. In case a recall election is called, his opponents will make sure he is ousted. The two losing candidates will for sure join forces and combine their resources to keep him out. Of course, they have already started and finalized their evil schemes before this issue was raised. Finally, a connivance between the two former losers will give one of them a majority margin. Please let us give good, sincere and politicians a chance. Pres. Cory Aquino should rally by his side. I still trust Madame Cory and she was one of the most honest Filipino leader. Lets pray for this is a great spiritual battle. Godbless.

Gerry Bulatao

Good governance anywhere in the Philippines is the concern of all Filipinos. Mabuhay ang Kaya Natin!

Toti

Among Ed has a lot of shortcomings - too much arrogant, feeling too good, feeling righteous, and so on. While his intentions and commitment to serve are undoubtable, his ways are.

Friends, let us learn from this event - the recent recall move against Among Ed. Sabi nga ni Fr. Gerry Orbos, it is not enough to be good, let us also be NICE. We may have all the good intentions in the world, but we must also be nice in showing in deeds these good intentions.

There’s still much time for Among ed to amend. Remember that we do not have monopoly of righteousness.

Remember, this is about governance and politics in which everything is in gray. What is good for some may not be good for others.

It needs much humility for our Among Ed to amend, and so do most of us.

Selo Cruz

WELL SAID MR. Keh…Gov Panlilio, Mayor Robredo, and Gov Palaca should be one of the next president.

Villar, and the rest should try to run against Cov Panlilio, Robredo or Palaca before entering to the national scene and let us see if they could even garner enoguh votes FAIRLY!!!

Linda

Filipinos and people from Pampanga should support Gov. Panlilio. It’s the only chance to have a clean gov’t. and stop illegal jueteng.Show support.Don’t exoect a miracle overnight to be able to improve a gov’t that has long been wanting of leaders with a heart for the poor. I’ts time for a change now or never.

JM Brosas

It happened in Isabela with Gov. Grace Padaca. Now, it’s Pampanga’s turn. It’s a soothing drift, an undeniable force to be reckoned with. There is still hope for my beloved country afterall.
It is now inevitable for another awakening of every Filipino; all eyes, ears and heart to that province that I believe would be the microcosm of my future country where leaders are leaders.

And I’ll be home soon.

Ed Dabbay

Harveh keh,

I agree with you a million times. It would be a shame if we let scum of the earth politicians to triumph over Gov. Panlilio who had shown the right way to governance.

What will happen to the Lapids who as clear as daylight misused the quarry collections? Are there legal actions? Keeping mum on this issue would allow
and encourage corrupt politicians to pursue similar oust action . Could you be as vigilant prosecuting the Lapids and allies as well.

corrupt politicians
to pursue

knightcross

YES for Gov. Panlilio…

Vice Gov. Guiao and the rest of board memebers, wala na ba kayong kick-backs from quarry and jueteng?

Kapampangan ku!!

Every Filipino, not just our cabalens, should be aware and give their opinions on this issue.

We are all connected and everybody has the right to participate, discuss, ask, involve, etc. because we live in a democratic country. Kung may karapatang magsalita at makialam sa provincial governance ang SP or si Guiao against Among Gob, other people are also entitled. That is the essence of democracy. Salita sila ng salita against Among Gob, sila ba may ginagawa aside from criticizing, attacking, denouncing, etc. Among Gob’s style of governance.

Quarry Lord or Jueteng Queen?? Good governance or corrupt governance??

Tama na ang (tranditional) politics and please think about the welfare of the people hindi yung sarili n’yong wellfare at pockets!!

I don’t want to pray for evil things to be done to evil people, kahit Catholic ako, I believe sa concept ng “KARMA” ng mga Hindus. GOOD KARMA TO GOOD PEOPLE at BAD KARMA TO EVIL, SELFISH, CORRUPT, and SELF-SERVING provincial/local officials, este PEOPLE pala.

Tamaan sana kayo ng kidlat, humaba ang ilong, at masunog ang upuan n’yo everytime you tell lies on television and radio…

Sabi nga ng kapatid ko, “HINDI LANG MANGURAKOT SI AMONG GOB, SOLVE NA KO!”

Be strong Among Gob, we are praying for you and our province/country…

Lee

Harvey,
Well said. One of the most important thing Gov. Panilio did is remove corruption.
What we need is MAKA-DIOS AT MAKA-TAO.

myepinoy

If that is the attitude of Vice-Governor Guiao then he should not ask anything from the national government.

He must remember that anything that the national government extends to Pampanga comes from the taxes we paid as a citizen of this country.

Mario Tesorero

Its time to support the movement for good governance in our beloved country. Its been our prayer that the good Lord will raise up leaders with a passion for good governance like Gov. Panlilio, Mayor Robredo, etc. God bless the Philippines!!!!

Eterio

This Governor Ed Panlilio is the person who recieved 500thousand supot bag and exposed who has really given it to him. HE is the good guy who is originally a priest, he represents fight against Jueteng and corruption, where he has generated quarry funds that was corrupted, down with jueteng up with moral integrity.

John Ignacio

count me in! what the kapampangans did in electing Panlilio is truly remarkable. they struck right at the belly of the beast and slew it(guiao, pineda, lapid and co.). everybody knew that this recall movement is nothing but a hopeless desire of the above crook politician to reclaim Pampanga as their cash cow and nothing else.we know also that this brazen act of stupidy has the blessing of Malacanang and part of a grand design that if cha-cha happen, arroyo can easily run and win in the Congress without Panlilio as an obstacle.

AJIEm

Gov. Panlilio reflects as there still a chance for the Philippines to have a good governance if the leader will think for the benefit of the people…we should have a president like him…trash those corrupt politicians who only think for themselves…we should stand with his side and his beliefs for a clean leadership…

Gov. Panlilio mabuhay ka!!!

jojo

Hello Harvey,
Thank you for this article.
I agree with you and the rest of the Filipino people to support the governor.
Mabuhay ka Governor

wonderwoman

Gov. Panlilio is a slap on the face of our corrupt PGMA.

The public knows that Fr. Panlilio was looking for someone with unblemished reputation to fight against traditional politicians in Pampanga during the last election. He failed to get one, so he himself posted his candidacy against a formidable odds. Fortunately, the NGOs, the Civil Society, the Progressive organization, those who wanted a change in the traditional politics, rallied behind him which was instrumental in his winning his candidacy.

Right after his winning, the Jueteng group, the PGMA group, and other vested interest didn’t wait to discredit this lone winner. His distracters were vent of looking for anything that would besmirch his reputation with the intention of removing him from continuing his role as Governor of Pampanga.

The Lady Pineda, a known associate of PGMA, his contender, lodges a protest right after her defeat. Fortunately, she failed.

On his term as Governor, he was able to bring out in the open, the corruption regarding the quarrying of sands committed by the former Governor, the son of Senator Lapid. Before Fr. Panlilio’s term, the revenue was approximately 110 million pesos a year, and on the other hand, Fr. Panlilio was able to collect 110 million in just one month! This means that over one billion pesos goes to corrupt government officials.

Just like the time of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the priest during His time, seeks for His downfall. And they convinced Judas to lie. There is a parallel to what is happening right now. We have these “Judas” among the traditional politicians, particularly, those close to Malacanang who are vent of removing Governor Panlilio ones and for all.

wonderwoman

People of Pampanga! You know pretty well that the record of PGMA administration is predominantly corrupt. Would you feed Gov. Panlilio to the crocodiles?

This is your last hope to redeem your reputations as “kapampangan” that you are not all dim-witted. Support your beleaguered Gov.

Ariel

Mabuhay si Among Ed.

mervin

We support you Gov. Panlilio, its a shame for those supporting and organizing the recall .
Governor Panlilio should run for President , and to change the way politics and governance in the Philippines, who are mostly run by people with business, political interest. Corruption is the root of all evil, poverty in the Philippines, because Government officials are not thinking for the good of the country but for the god of their pocket.

Evelina A. Villareal-Banyon

As a local of another town headed by a corrupt and greedy local executive (from Montalban or Rodriguez, Rizal), I would like Pampagueños to realize the loss their are facing if Gov. Panlilio is recalled from his position. You people has a lot to thank for having a courageous and fighter leader in Panlilio, facing the brazen corruption committed by ‘trapos’ against hapless Pampangueños.

Like your resopurces, we too in Montalban has many quarrying sites which too have become ‘oilwells’ of our corrupt and selfish local executives. While fattening their
bellies with unaccounted for money, our ‘trapos’ have never thought about preparing for the future so our economies do not depend on quarrying operation money.

Same thing goes in the case of jueteng. This should be stopped.
Only dedicated people in the likes of Gov. Panlilio, Mayor Jess Robredo, Gov. Padaca and she from San Isidro, NE can do it at this point. Let them stay. Let their leadership be replicated.

Ben Tambling

Go on to the Snap Elections !!!
and the whole nation will see…

don’t be afraid…
Among Ed will prevail.
the truth will prevail

(just don’t let the votes be corrupted, that’s another issue, well, we’ll see)

Loila

True. That also means continuous learning - like knowing the dynamics of evil so you won’t get caught in a trap…

I was a witness to one of the disappointing issues about PELCO 3…and a lot of things got really distorted.

Nonetheless, the nation needs visionaries!

marlon

I think he is a remaining beacon of hope for countless millions overseas who still believe that the Philiipines can be made better. I believe we can with people like Among who still care.

nick

Jun Bucud

I Praise and salute you Harvey Keh for your outstanding support to Gov.Panlilio and to the people of Pampanga. I was deeply touch with your courage despite not being a pampaguenos you are showing your political concerned to our province. I encouraged other God fearing citizen who needs changes in our governing arena like you to show their will support now…

Youth Leader from Oton Iloilo

Vice Gov.

People of the Philippines must support the Good Governor, Governor Panlilio…

Sa bawat pelikula naman may bida at laging kontrabida, the Good against the bad or God versus evil…

freedom

I will support our governor if he can show us his accomplishment from day 1 to present. If you notice a lot of Governor supporter back out. I agree with him because he is against the illegal jueting in pampanga.

lomwell labrador

Yes, we need good men in this country to get involved in changing for the general welfare of our people. We are in the same country. Let’s love it. Issues that confront in the Province of Pampanga, affect the whole Filipinos. I believe this saying: Ang sakit ng kalingkingan ay damdam ng buong katawan. Let’s support Gov. Panlilio!

gregory panting

I don’t know what vice gov guiao and mayor pelayo and the board members were thinking but i think these bunch of politicians are self centered non-patriotic filipinos that instead of helping gov panlilio for the betterment of pampanga ,they’re tring to block all his noble intensions for the province of pampanga.where are you guys when the gov was mark lapid and the quarry collection was way way below compared to present one,eh bakit walang recall noon?dahil ba sa porsyentuhan? at ngayon ay walang porsyento.itigil nyo na yang mga recall nyo at mahiya naman kayo sa sambayanang pilipino kung meron pa kayo nun.kung gusto nyong umunlad ang pilipinas we need more leaders like gov panlilio, dahil kung puro katulad at kalahi nyo ang mamumuno sa pilipinas kahit dalawang daang taon hinde tayo makakaahon sa kahirapan. kailangan natin ang isang leader na may konsensya at takot sa Diyos at hinde nagnanakaw ng kaban ng bayan..huwag tayong maging makasarili, konting sakripisyo para sa kapwa pinoy and especially kabalen..

Lea

Let the silent-too-long majority spoke
in Pampanga: trapo time is over.

Let their voices be heard and echoed
all over the country, and let us join our
voices with theirs and together let us bring down the walls of Jueting and root
out entrenched corruption.

God bless and protect Govs. Palaca and Palilio, Mayor Robredo and all good people who risk their lives for a better Philippines.

lea Dizon

I think we should support Governor Ed. I know how it feels to have a bad local government with me as its victim. With people like Engr Flordeliza Alampay ( former chief Drafting and Survey ), Engr Saturnino Disu ( former Office of the building official ) Engr Andres ( present city Engineer ) of Manila, in local term pina-ikot ikot nila ako for 4 long years ( as Ted Failon says helo, helo na ako ). Even though they knew we are 100 % right and still dont care if your family lives are put in harms way. This makes you lost hope in how the local government should be run. That’s with honesty and integrity.

PinoyKano

Harvey,

I agree 101% with you. I fully support Among Ed and say no to the recall. But further, as a governor, Among Ed, must fulfill his election battlecry to bring capitol services to the poor in the barrios. He must also fulfill his “word” to the BALAS boys. As a kapampangan, Among Ed is a cut above the rest but there is a lot of work to do. He is a governor first before a “Kaya Natin” member roaming around the nation to preach good governance. He must walk the talk and spend less time with “Kaya Natin” and spend more time with bringing basic services to the kapampangans. He may not be perfect but we want a governor in action.

Len Simbulan

HK! Thank you for motivating all filipinos.Without any good changes in the Philippines our people will stay poor. I just pray “Karma” to all currupt officials.

Jerry

Somebody should tell him that he is following the step of the devil!

Let us all support Gov. Panlilio, this is the last chance that we can start changing politics in the Philippines.

M Regner

So in the short time that Gov Panlilio thay have already judge him as incompetent. How come no one was heard from them when the Lapids were governing the province?

No need for an Einstein to figure this out. It all boils down to “partehan”. Now that Gov. Panlilio is running the office in a transparent way, these vultures have lost their “share”.

Please Pampangueños lead the way and show the whole country that people like Gov Panlilio is what we need and his constituents are all strongly behind him and will not be fooled no more by the old TRAPO strategies.

PinoyKano

Bakit na delete comment ko on Among Ed needs to attend to his constituents before going around speaking about good governance? Explain!

Tom

Why is it that the Council of Catholic Bishops is mum on this issue? It is baffling that the bishops do not give a damn to Father Panlilio who needs support from every quarter. I believe one reason is that they support and benefit from the jueteng racket. Mahiyahiya naman kahong mga obispo.

Jerome

My support goes to Panlilio…Keep up the good work. Trust in God…

Nick Gonzales

Vice Gov.Guiao for one, is a very very good “actor”. For all the convincing that he is trying to do to show that his intentions are “well-meaning”, he cannot deny the fact that he is obviously affiliated and connected with the losing trapos that are you-know-who.

Pls. Vice gov., stop all the pretensions. Mag paka totoo ka nga…

And for all the other trapos(who are again obviously connected/affiliated with their losing governatorial candidates), SHAME, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you….

Do not underestimate the will of the Kapampangans (metung ku kareta) to do our share in fighting for good governance in our province.

I did not vote for Among Ed, but i believe in his sincerity…and I, together with the other Kapampangans in Pampanga, in the whole country, and all over the world (I’m here in Singapore) who believe in good governance, truth, and sincerity will do our share to uphold these values.

I cannot say the same for the rest of these trapose who, obviously have a vested interest other than for “good of the people and our province”

God bless Among Ed and the Kapampangans, God bless our country…

Let us fight for good governance…Kapampangans or non-Kampangans, we are one as Filipinos.. This is crusade as one nation… Let us support Among Ed.

God bless Among Ed and the Kapampangans, God bless us Filipinos, God bless our country…

Pastor Eric

How can we say that this issue is limited within the boundaries of Pampanga?

Jueteng is a national menace and one of the reputed gambling lords reside in Pampanga, his wife even running for governor against Among Ed.

So, the whole nation will be affected with what’s happening in Pampanga.

Also, Among Ed’s achievement of raising the quarry collections is a shining example of what happens when corruption is dealt with.

Among Ed, we are praying for you! Never give up.

carlo

yeah mabuhay ang administration ni gov panlilio. Shame on those who wants him removed!

Robert

I’m from Pampanga and I fully agree with Mr Keh, recall is not needed and it is a waist of time and money and the promulgators of the recall are the same old gang who want to dislodge the good governor.
Mr. Guiao if you want to pursue your political career just cooperate with the Governor and not prosecute him, as you know the Pampanga silent majority are not dumb as you think.

Sot G. Conde

Without the blessings of the Godfather I don’t know where this recall would lead to
it may end up a mere hearsay.[Maniwala ku keng kabiyasnan at tapang da reng kapampangan anya nung alang pwersang makialam keng pisasabiyan a iyan sigurado kung eya magtagumpe.] for those who believed in good governance ‘LET’S PRAY FOR GOV.”

Mike

Panlilio’s coverage is a symbol of the stupid sensationalism that the Inquirer promotes. He hasn’t accomplished anything that makes him the hero you seem to insist on painting him as.

cris macapagal

Amung Ed epitomises true leadership and deserves all the support he can get. this isnt his battle, its Kapampangans and it is ours. If we Filipinos ever wanted to see our children and future generations enjoy a good and better life, this is now our chance to make a difference. Let us not allow greed rule over national interests.

Jojo

angelo

let us support gov. panlilio. we need people with integrity to serve our country. real change in our government will only be achieved if good people like gov. panlilio will step up. and let us also be united in prayers for him.

wil

mabuhay si gov panlilio.
he should be the next president

eugene24

I support Among Ed….this recall is a political harassment iniiated by politcians with vested interest..

Tom Says:

You hit a bulls eye. You hit the nail by its head.

“Why is it that the Council of Catholic Bishops is mum on this issue? It is baffling that the bishops do not give a damn to Father Panlilio who needs support from every quarter. I believe one reason is that they support and benefit from the jueteng racket. Mahiyahiya naman kahong mga obispo.”

Our Bishop has lost their credibility to defend against the wrong doings committed by our government. The corruptions, the human rights violation, the lies, the squandering of billions of pesos on superficial projects, etc., all these are being ignored by this hoodlums in robe.

When these Bishops start accepting donations from what ever source, they commit adultery. Our Bishops now are entirely different from those of Padre Burgos, Gomez and Zamora. There is so much pretention, so much deceit. These are the kinds that our Lord Jesus Christ denounces during his time when he went to the temple. He noticed that the priests were deceiving their flocks.

The Bishops censors our government’s policy because of slow implementation of Land Reform, yet, they do not donate their land in Naga, to the tenant farmers. Hypocrites! Their Universities, their hospitals, and other investments, are all exempted from taxes, yet, at the time of needs of their people, they only give pittance to help the poor.

They commit Blasphemy every time they bow before the altar; for charity, purity, divinity is not in their heart.

Long live Gov. Ed Panlilio!

lakay

all filipinos behind you gov. not just the kapangpangan we need leader’s like you. i’m an ilocano…mabuhay ang pinoy

koronadal1300

to all kapampangans, you should not allow yourself to vote against Gov. Panlilio coz if you does, there is something wrong being a Kapampangan. Just take a look at our president/s.

Araceli

I went home in Lubao Pampanga in Sept 2008 eh, rampant parin ang jueteng. ano ba yan kahit na ba kung sinong nakaupo hindi na mapigilan yan??? bakit ba ang mga pinedang yan hindi na tumangap ng pagkatalo??? gusto parin nilang magpayaman at hawakan sa leeg ang mga kapampangan??? pwede ba mga kabalen magsigising kayo!!! at yang judge sa Lubao …galing pa ako sa america para umatend ng hearing , tapos cancel. and they won’t bother to inform you. mga walang kunsensya!!!

Jio

To Angelo, I would like to know if you’re living in Pampanga or just read the issue and made comment. to know the guy you should be living in the province. The guy is more talking words than actions and not thinking the benefits of Kapampangans.

NJT

I’m not from Pampanga, but I fully support Gov. Panlilio because he represents a new breed of politicians that the Philippines so badly need now. His platform of good governance and service is not actually a new idea. It just so happen that he is only among the very few politicians in the country today who practice it.

I hope Pres. GMA joins her kabalens too in helping Gov. Panlilio do his job to improve the lives of Pampanguenos. I’m sure if she does that, all her political allies who are giving Panlilio much headache, will follow suit.

Juan Gonzales

All those Pampanga politicians who are trying to pull down Gov Panlilio are “korians” like their cabalen Super GreedyGloria and her entire family. They only know one dialogue for all projects, “magkano ‘KORIAN”.

I agree that Among Ed has good intentions, let us wait first if his good intention is enough to chenge Pampanga. As of now we dont need a saint to lead our country, we need a leader with political will to solve our ills, yung may balls para sa ipatupad ang batas para sa lahat. It needs hard work, hindi mga speaking engagemtns, hands on leadership ang kailangan natin at nakita ko lamang iyan sa isang tunay na Bayani na kahit batuhin ay tuloy tuloy pa rin sa kanyang sinimula, Wala pang naipakita si Among Ed maliban sa collection sa quarrying. Good and I admire him for that but ot say among Ed for president is ill timed. papuntahin mo siya sa Metro manila at subukan natin kung malinis niya ang mga sidewalk which requires balls and stone wills. among Ed is for Pampanga ang Padaca is for Isabela, ayusin muna ninyo iyang lugar ninyo ha, then I will vote for you for president but in the meantime it is BF who has record of performance in cleansin his town, kaya I will go for BF for President, He is not a saint, yes but he has the political will to make things done para sa lahat. Go BF, go Among Ed !! Go Grace padaca, I love you all !!!!.

rannie m rubin

we need more Gov.Panlilio in our Goverment for us to to regain the trust of our people in our Public officials.lets pray and support among ED.more power and God Bless!!!!!

Nick Gonzales

Dear Sir PinoyKano,

On your below comment:

“Bakit na delete comment ko on Among Ed needs to attend to his constituents before going around speaking about good governance? Explain!”

Pero obviously, I can tell you are not a believer in Among Ed.

That’s ok…

He has not even completed his first year in office and yet we are too quick to judge him…

When some misguided elements roam the streets doing their dirty tricks and black propaganda to our fellow Cabalen, I think it is only proper that Among Ed do something about it to counteract them….

In the fight between good and evil, there is no such thing as a “referee” or a “neutral” party. There is no gray area…

Make your stand…

And dont’ ask me which parties belong to the good side and evil side…

That will be a big insult to your intelligence..

Thank you Sir.

d deserves the support of filipinos whose only wish is for our country to rise from the destruction brought about by traditional, corrupt and patronage politics. Look at those branded political dynasties from the senate down to the congress, the same dynasties kept on cropping in the political arena for several decades, yet the philippines is going from bad to worse. Well, thanks to the expertise of our overstaying trapos and political dynasties. The Philippines is in need of a new brand of of politics, a new breed of leaders, a new batch of visionaries and builders who could inspire our people to make change happen. Gov. Ed showed us that change could happen. But taditional and corrupt politicians are moving heaven and earth to stop anything that should lead our country back to the right track of development and moral recovery. Let us rally behind Gov. Ed and all leaders who are for CHANGE and get rid of all forms of corruption. Let our voices be heard, tama na, sobra na, garapalan na ang ginagawa ng mga trapo sa pagpahirap ng ating bayan.

Kapampangan ku!!

Mike: “Panlilio’s coverage is a symbol of the stupid sensationalism that the Inquirer promotes. He hasn’t accomplished anything that makes him the hero you seem to insist on painting him as.”

For us Kapampangan, he is not a “symbol” but a concrete and living example of “hope,” and, he is not a “hero or messiah,” he is an exemplary person with courage and faith.

We, Kapampangans, are living more peaceful and happier because we trust and love our Governor. Siguro para sa’yo wala pa s’yang na-accomplish to be considered as a hero, pero he is a living hero for us kasi he gave us hope na pwedi palang linisin ang sistema.

Take note, di pa kilala ng maraming tao si Among Ed non ha.. On the first place, he never was your Governor di ba?? Nagproclaim na kayo ng sariling n’yong gobernador before the final provincial canvassing, paano kayo mawawalan ng confidence kung hindi n’yo naman siya tinanggap as governor??

Sana dumami pa ang mga katulad ni Among Ed at pataasin natin sa presidency like Ex-bishop Fernando Lugo of Paraguay. Mga selpos (selfless politicians) at hindi mga trapos ang kailangan ng bansang Pilipinas para bumaba ang ranggo natin as the “Most Corrupt Natin in Asia”!!

Harveh Keh, keep up the good work at do you have the lists of the mayors, SP, or local officials (former or present), na nagpaparecall kay Among Ed?? So that, we will know who to vote next time to get rid of trapos… thank you!!

al dela

(Vice-Governor Yeng Guiao and Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo have come out in media telling us to stay away from this issue since we are not from Pampanga).

What a harebrain thing to say, especially coming from two government officials.
This is the result jueteng money addiction, given cold turkey treatment.
Governor Panlilio will prevail and will be the trend setter of good governance the country was waiting for.

Pinoyshowbizcentral

Politicians who wanted to hold or maintain their power cried like a baby when Gov. Ed receive the Governorship of Pampanga. Why they wanted a recall?, because Gov. Ed is making an effective good governance that affects the coffers of Pampanga’s gambling lords.

mvp

To Vice Gov. Guiao and other greedy politicians of Pampanga. The fact that Among Ed collected a lot fro the quarrying operations is a big reason for all Kapampangans to be happy and be proud of him.

Regz

The Kapampangans should already be proud of Among Ed. Show yourselves… speak up and stand up for him. Its a one in a million chance to have an honest and sincere guy like Among Ed. Help him succeed in Pampanga para naman mahawaan ng good governance ang mga karating probinsiya. Doing nothing means you deserve the jueteng lords and all the crooks creeping in to lord over Pampanga.

thom

I’m a campampangan that’s why I don’t really understand what the corrupt officials of our province tryin’ to impart on the minds of our cabalens, it is obvious that self interest is the main objective for what they are figthing for, come to think, what the said officials have done in Pampanga, NOTHING as in NOTHING at all. Go to Candaba, or to the town of Vice Gov. Guiao and try to ask the people what they have done, for sure the answer that you will get is a simple smile which means are you asking how much they have pocketed so far?….these are the kinds of people serving our province….

Ardie

Malino naman pu ing agenda ra deng manyad “recall” aren.

Ala lang pikabsyan deng dipa ning alting mangatako’t mapanakong aren.

Please help us (capampangan). Support and pray for Among Ed.

NONATO NUQUE

My only question to Vice Gov. Guiao, Malabo ba ang Mata mo?Ilan taon ka na sa Pampanga , hangang ngayon sinusuportan mo ang Mga Pineda, A kNOWN GAMBLING LORD, KILALAMO NAMAN SILA KABALEN, OT MAKANYAN KA ABE, YOU SHOULD BE A TRAILBLAZER FOR CHANGE AND IMPROVE GOVERNANCE , BUT DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES FROM WHO ARE YOU WITH. OR MAY BE YOU FALL ON THIS SAYING, BIRDS OF THE SAME FEATHERS FLOCK TOGETHER..

Tina G.

I was dissapointed with the trapos of Pampanga, specifically VG Guiao, he should be the one to lead the way of a good governance, young politicians should change what the old trapos did to our country. Yes Among Ed may not have that expected accomplishments, but did they gave him the opportunity to bring his kind of service, did they support the programs of the Governor or VG Guiao have to payback those people who supported him during the election. Please bear in mind that we have God, people may not see what they are doing, but nothing is secret to God.

dino

hadz

i am from pampanga and im working in angeles,,I have seen how governor PANLILIO WORK HARD FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE and many politicians with the leadership of MR, Guiao are trying to the everythin in their power to block any attempt by the governor in leading the province to prosperity. SOMETMES the governor has to beg to the munivipal mayors to fund for the meantime some of the provincial projects in their area because the SP is blocking the funding..Yeng GUaio and his constituents must be shame for themselves for dragging pampanga to ruin…shame…shame..shame…

leo delosreyes

i dont know what stupid sensationalism you talking about mike.marahil ay mga kalahi mo itong nagpaparecall.mangilan ngilan na nga lamang ang matinong pinoy dito sa mundo.kawawang bayan .sayang lang ang pagbubuwis ng buhay ni rizal at ni bonifacio.gising kabayan, baka balang araw ay maging huwaran ang pampanga at gayahin ng ibang probinsya na walang hweteng, walang kurakot at maunlad ang pamumuhay ng mga mamamayan.

RD

We should convince Among ED to run for President on 2010!!!!!

Among ED for prEsiDent!!!

yenggay

I had a talk with my student yesterday who happens to live in Porac, Pampanga. He said that people in Porac are not in favor with Among Ed because of the quarry issue. These people should realize that Among Ed is doing his best effort to save the country from corruption and wrong governance. I salute him for his devotion not only to his job but also to God who made him as an instrument to heal our sick country and save it from its disgrace. Let’s pray for him.

Migising ta na kabalen!

jim lachica

I do believe that Gov. Among Ed must be supported all the way. What is happening in Pampanga is part of the birth pangs. In introducing changes, resistance is expected.

Vice-Gov Yeng Guiao and the other trapos in Pampanga should wake up.
I will boycott all the Red Ball Products and the the team that Guaio is coaching and will ask my students and friends to do the same.

jim lachica

I mean Red Bull products and the Red Bull Team. (sorry for the misspelled word)Vice Gov Yeng Guiao and Coach Yeng cannot be separated. He should be a model to all especially to the youth.

Jo-an

Guiao and Pelayo and their ilk are on the wrong side of demographics, democracy and nationalism. Their efforts to oust a historic figure, Fr. Ed, affect Filipinos in Pampanga, the nation’s borders and abroad. Apart from the moral questions of their recall act, they cannot expect Filipinos beyond the province not to react and meddle. Fr. Ed’s election speaks volumes of the potential for the nation’s will for good governance. Also, I’m certain Pampanga depends on material support from outside the province, especially from the OFWs who help their relatives’ there. Therefore, it should expect and welcome criticism from “outsiders” in the interest of free speech, democracy and nationalism.

San Fernando

I support Among Ed….this recall is a political harassment.

Bonbon of Bukidnon

Gov. Panlilio is not yet “too late to be a hero”. He is a new semblance of a true leader that should be installed higher than a Governor, in order to further influence other Filipino people who has of the same attitude as with the Governor. Transparency, accountability and good governance must also be initiated with a grateful heart. One must posses a grateful heart to attain the basic rule to rule a good Philippine government, that is TAGG, stands as Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance. Mabuhay ka, Governor Panlilio! Sana dumami pa ang mga followers mo. Isa na ako duon.

crisostomo_ibarra

At the end of the day, it is still the people of Pampanga, who will decide on Gov. Ed Panlilio recall election.

De los Reyes

Barely has this ex-priest served even half of his term as governor and his political enemies impatient to restore jueteng lords in Pampanga are all set to remove him.

And what’s the charge against Gov. Panlilio? He ignores them daw, does not cooperate, does things all by himself. In short, the Gov is not a team player. Makes me think they mean “jueteng team player”.

The charge sounds screwy to me. First time some complain about not being a team player. So what if he’s not a team player, that’s no reason to remove him if that’s his style of doing things. If he makes a bad governor let the people of Pampanga remove him in an election and not through manipulative efforts of those whose motives are suspect.

I am one eighth Capampangan and I feel great shame to see those who go along with the recall initiative allowing themselves to be used by unscrupulous poliiticians.

When the Lapids were making tons of money from the lahar scam why did these so-called do-gooders not push the same recall against the father and son governors? I give the reader one guess why they did not!!!

al dela

I have a sinister advice to these status quo individuals who are perpetrating this inane recall movement; it goes like this, cancel the movement under a false pretense that you have finally come to your senses yielding to Gov. Panlilio’s crusade for good governance. Come next election the oblivious and the few vigilant populace (masa) are back to old ways they are conditioned to and where you always want them to be all along— ——Bingo!! –YOU ARE HOME FREE, because by then you have convinced and outsmarted Ed Panlilio to vacate the Governorship for a higher national elective office. One of you, either Guiao/Pelayo/Henson or Lilia Pineda will already be occupying the throne in the provincial capitol————subtly crawl back in to the hole that you are used to. The process will take a wait of a few months to fruition. Hey guys———-even cockroaches submit themselves to starvation waiting for the lights to turn off before raiding the stew pot.
If you proceed with this recall and prevail, you will subject yourselves to scrutiny by every citizen in and out of the country just like there is no tomorrow.

tey

I am from Pampanga and my family supported the governor’s candidacy last year. I agree with Kaya Natin not to support the Recall Movement against Gov. Panlilio. I agree that the governor should finish his term until 2010. But please, let his political career end there. Don’t push him for another term or to seek a higher office after 2010. Let him go back to the life he so cherished before politics. There is a reason why Canon Law has a division of Church & State ruling. Let’s not be bullheaded about it. Empower the citizens instead and groom other potential leaders. If we found a choice last year, am should there will be other God-sends in the future, but please spare this one.

Li

We have seen how things changed when a righteous leader govern. Should we allow the wicked to grab the power again? I’m not a Kapampangan so I’m sort of jealous of them since they already experienced some sort of restoration in their local government.
2010 elections is is pretty far but what I’m excited about is the posibility of Villanueva - Panlilio tandem. Probably this time he (Panlilio) will become a team player since he will now have a teamate in erradicating the wicked in Philippine government.

== Villanueva - Panlilio ==
in 2010 Elections….whatchathink?

Cesar GARCIA Guardiano (Rizal)

SpEditor

May I ask, does anybody have the current numbers of the recount?

In the last report (as of my info thru PDI online), Pineda was leading, but numbers weren’t given… It was won by a very narrow margin of 1000 votes, so it would be helpful if everyone had access to the current count or at least an updated weekly count.

Thanks and I hope Ed Panlilio comes out clean here.
