SI was stunned when DA handed over a check for P150,000. DA wanted to surprise LL with a baby Birkin. Nothing fake or cheap for LL! After all, she's had to endure all sorts of nasty intrigues since hooking up with DA.

Insiders are upset with Hunky Actor who, they allege, has been abusing the kindness and generosity of Controversial Celebrity.

CC apparently gave HA full access to a personal ATM card and the guy has been withdrawing like crazy of late.

CC's pals are livid, asking: "Why does HA, who has wealthy benefactors here and abroad, need to extort moolah from CC?"

Maybe HA wants to be a billionaire... really bad.

Blast from the past

Perplexing, this. According to Reliable Source, TV5 is thinking of teaming up new recruit Aga Muhlach with Willie Revillame, John Estrada and Richard Gomez in a sitcom reminiscent of the old ABS-CBN show, "Palibhasa Lalake."

Ah, boys will be boys. But isn't the concept a little too retro for comfort?

Undue influence

Supporters of Popular Star are worried that Famous Celebrity is pulling strings and that, as a result, the latter's film got the bigger share of the studio's attention in the marketing and promo department.

Not that PS needs help there. She can very well bank on years of goodwill. Unlike FC, who has earned only ill will.

Who the Puck?

Spotted in a PAL flight to the country was hot young Hollywood star Mark Salling, or Puck on the show "Glee."

Fellow passengers were charmed by the singing hunk who "was low key and unassuming."

Giving back

Gerald Anderson threw a Christmas bash and gave presents to his fans as his way of thanking them, "Showbiz News Ngayon" reported on December 27. "Sobrang thankful ako na nandiyan sila," Gerald said.

Angel stays

On the same "SNN" night, Angel Locsin brushed off rumors that she is transferring to another network soon.

"May kontrata pa po ako sa ABS-CBN. Hindi ko naman po siguro hobby na lumipat ng istasyon." (Uh, we didn't know that.)

Empress Schuck - still on the same "SNN" night - said she waited a long time before her career took off. When it did, the young actress took full advantage. She just gifted her family with a new house.

These days, it's as quick as mixing instant coffee.

One day, II set a meeting with TE for an upcoming project starring Young Love Team.

When TE heard, all hell broke loose. TE was overheard screaming, "Ignore II ... who has no time for us and is busy with CP."

Three Beautiful Stars are allegedly on the verge of leaving Top Channel for Revitalized Network.

There is a fear that BS may be put in the freezer because of their Big Boss' alliance with TC's Sworn Enemy. The BS are Popular Singer, Pretty Host and Sexy Starlet.

Dolphy's last?

The pneumonia that struck Dolphy while filming "Father Jejemon" recently was his third attack in the past several years.

The Comedy King recalled his doctor telling him that he almost died the previous time--while working on the ABS-CBN show, "John and Shirley."

Pidol is thankful that he has pulled through and got to finish "Jejemon," an entry to the coming Metro Manila Film Festival for his own RVQ Productions.

He's 82; he said this could be his last movie. He used to work 44 hours straight, Dolphy said, but obviously he can't do that now.

ABS-CBN talent Piolo Pascual shot down persistent rumors that he will soon be moving to TV5.

Rocker leader

MOSCOW--Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sang praises to Elton John after the latter's concert in Moscow on Sunday, writing on Twitter he was impressed with the British pop icon's show, RIA Novosti agency reported.

"Very serious work, of very high quality--almost three hours of live music," wrote the president, who cultivates the image of a modern leader and rock music fan, often referring to his love of Pink Floyd and Deep Purple.

LONDON--Liz Hurley and her husband have separated, the British actress announced on Sunday, as a newspaper reported she has been having an affair with Australia cricket great Shane Warne.

Shocking! EM qualified the harsh statement: "They have disengaged. Seems the nonexclusive arrangement doesn't work at that level."

So P-Noy is getting another stylist? "Not necessarily," said EM. Hmm, interesting.

Ended too soon, perhaps, but it was good while it lasted, wasn't it? we asked. "Well," EM said, "Liz Uy has at least one endorsement deal coming up."

That is not an answer, we said, walking away. EM's parting shot: "She does have Boy Abunda as consultant for endorsements, doesn't she?"

She wants out

Glamour Girl is reportedly scared out of her wits. GG hooked up with Top Politico in spite of the raised brows in their respective circles.

It was not all that serious for GG, but TP wanted to take the relationship to the next level.

"It was a joke," Fanny related. "Before the show, Aga and [wife] Charlene Gonzalez dropped by Sharon's dressing room to greet her. They talked while I was doing Sharon's makeup."

MANILA, Philippines--After being linked with female TV reporters, Top Politico got involved with Sexy Starlets.

SS1 was reportedly showered with hush money to keep mum about the love affair. Is this the reason that Rushes often sees her shopping in an upscale mall in Ortigas Center?

TP's younger ex-flame, SS2, is now married and has a child.

These days, TP seems back to eyeing media personalities, if rumors are to be believed.

An insider told Rushes that he wasn't really interested in newbie TV Reporter, though.

TP just asked for TR's name because he wasn't impressed with her question at a press conference, said a mole.

Could it be that the marriage of Drama Actress to Political Scion is on the rocks?

In her latest projects, DA engaged in some daring scenes that no happily married woman would do.

Could she have called it quits with PS, whose family life is troubled to say the least?

GMA 7 fetes Pacquiao

Last Sunday, Manny Pacquiao shuttled between studios 6 and 7 of GMA Network for his production numbers in "Party Pilipinas" and to grace a thanksgiving-victory luncheon held in his honor.

The world's best pound-for-pound boxing king was the star of a special episode of "Party Pilipinas" and was feted in the luncheon for trouncing Mexican Antonio Margarito and winning his eighth championship belt.

On hand to welcome Pacquiao were his fellow Kapuso stars, members of the press, advertisers and GMA Network officers led by chairman-CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon and president-COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.

Wrapping up the tribute for Pacquiao was the telecast of his homecoming concert at SM Mall of Asia in his Sunday show, "Show Me Da Manny."

MANILA, Philippines--Remember last Sunday's Fading Star? She has been having cash-flow problems of late--like most Pinoys.

FS reportedly pulled out hot-ticket items from an upscale boutique that she used to endorse ... and held a garage sale.

Bright idea. Except that FS sold the expensive items at P30 to P50 a pop. Quite obviously, business is not her calling.

Prima donna, reinvented

Pretty Singer has earned a nasty reputation. Mole says she is a prima donna who likes making people wait in her gigs. She has lost jobs because of this.

Then, she suddenly reinvented herself into a trouper. This is why PS is very visible on the boob tube these days. She wants promoters to know she's reliable ... and available.

Floating devices redux

Hard-Hitting Host is in a quandary. Seems HH is reluctant to accept home studio's current offer. Unhappy, HH started "floating" rumors of opportunities from rival networks, according to a colleague.

Concocting "piracy" rumors apparently worked for Controversial Host, who landed HH's old job.

Going downhill

Acclaimed Veteran had high hopes for new Media Company. AV thought MC was a viable alternative to the current scene, which is far from ideal.

Alas, AV found out that MC was offering more of the same dubious and disappointing fare from AV's previous studio.

To illustrate: AV noted that Notorious Manager is currently lording it over at the MC--having disturbingly strong influence over matters that go beyond talent management.

Spotted on the catwalk

Backstage at the Folded and Hung show during Fashion Week, Influential Gay was spotted being escorted, with queer VIP pals, to the best seats in the house so they'd have the best view of the scantily clad hunks on the ramp.

Unfortunately, one of the studs on the catwalk was IG's Former Ward. Their parting had been far from amicable.

Did sparks fly? Was there tension in the air? Nah. Too many biceps as distraction.

WASHINGTON-- Mark Twain dropped by Kennedy Center Tuesday night to honor Tina Fey with the nation's top humor prize that bears his name.

A mustached Alec Baldwin playing the American author said he thought he would be remembered for being a tender lover and was surprised to learn the prize honors top comics.

He said he was shocked to hear it was a woman who had won because "their brains aren't shaped right."

A hundred years after the author's death, the woman famous for her Emmy Award-winning impression of Sarah Palin on the TV comedy "Saturday Night Live," accepted the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. She thanked Palin for her success. AP

Fire damages Neil Young memorabilia

SAN CARLOS, California--A fire at a San Francisco Bay area warehouse early Tuesday damaged a vintage car and other memorabilia belonging to singer Neil Young, authorities said.

The 10,000-square-foot building in San Carlos contained only items belonging to Young and his family, including six vintage cars and paintings, said Belmont-San Carlos Fire Chief Doug Fry. AP

LOS ANGELES--The first single from a posthumous Michael Jackson album was released online Monday -- but was immediately clouded by questions over whether it was really the late star's voice.

Record label Epic Records issued a statement saying it was confident the album including the single, "Breaking News" was indeed Jackson singing, after fans and La Toya Jackson questioned its authenticity.

"We have complete confidence in the results of our extensive research as well as the accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael that the vocals on the new album are his own," said Epic, in a statement cited by James Bates, spokesman for Jackson's estate. AFP

A pictorial was set in the home of Seasoned Singer.

SS, however, failed to hide incriminating photographs in the living room. Among the supposedly scandalous snaps is a framed picture of her with Singer-Actress whose gender has always been suspect.

MANILA, Philippines--Friends of Popular Celebrity are upset that Controversial Starlet is planning to upstage the former on her wedding day.

Out of the blue, CS set a big event in the same month.

Concerned pals insist CS should give way and avoid stealing the limelight from PC.

But then again CS has recently gained a nasty reputation as scene stealer and show biz pariah. CS should just bear in mind that her sweetheart is a friend of PC's.

Culprit or victim?

Rushes received an e-mail warning gays about a certain Handsome Model who is allegedly a danger to the community.

The tipster went on to accuse HM of a number of sins--from spreading a sexually transmitted disease to being the accomplice of a kidnap-for-ransom gang.

HM also has a sex video in the offing, according to the source who offered photos that seem suspicious at worst and filched (from Facebook) at best.

The stolen video would allegedly make Hayden Kho look like a choir boy.

Is HM a hateful criminal or just a victim of cyber slander?

Rascal boy

Speaking of warnings, Talent Manager would like to alert people to be wary of a certain Rascal Boy who has run away with her money.

TM said she trusted RB when she lent him P20,000--which he supposedly needed for a small business. He also promised to repay her in a week's time.

But TM complained that it's been a year since RB has been giving her the runaround: "I wonder how many people he has duped aside from me? He even had the gall to issue a bouncing check!"

RB is said to be working in the Program Management Department of GMA 7.

Faking madness?

Gifted Character Actor left not a few friends and colleagues either stunned or worried.

CA has been seen in public behaving in a bizarre manner.

CA would arrive at gatherings disheveled, would mumble incoherently or rage loudly against unseen enemies.

Concerned peers shook their heads and surmised CA was going bonkers.

An Observant Coworker, however, noticed that even though CA wore dirty clothes, his fingernails were newly clipped and his hair smelled of shampoo.

"CA had time to groom himself," OC noted. "I don't think he's going crazy. Maybe it's all part of an acting exercise."

Demise of 'Idol'

ABS-CBN's musical "Idol" will soon end its short run.

A lot of ink has been spilled about the cause of its abrupt cancelation. (It originally had a 10-week run, but it was announced that it would wrap up on October 22 after eight only eight weeks.)

It was a shocker, considering that it had been hyped as a local version of the worldwide hit "Glee."

The official word from the Kapamilya station is that "production and schedule constraints" spelled the show's doom. Rights to each song (performed on the show) cost a bundle, said an insider.

Alas, it didn't help that the show had been struggling in the ratings game.

Scent of a scandal

Here's to a whiff of notoriety.

Controversial doctor and videographer Hayden Kho was reportedly asked by a Paris-based perfume company to endorse its line of fragrances.

The name of the scent? Hayden, what else.

Perhaps the brand name Voyeur was already taken.

Stylish Awards

"Star Studio Magazine" celebrated its 10th anniversary by holding the first Star Studio Celebrity Style Awards.

There were three sets of winners chosen for the People's Choice, Technical and Celebrity Awards.

Curiously, some categories were quite unique: Agot Isidro winning as Most Stylish Kontrabida (for "Tayong Dalawa"); and Vice Ganda as Most Stylish Comedian.

According to tattletales, however, GS was spotted in a five-star hotel, where she spent a romantic evening with Moreno Hunk who had similarly parted ways with Notorious Starlet.

Fiery Oktoberfest

Rock stars and other celebrities from film, TV and sports added glitter to the launch of the annual San Miguel Oktoberfest held recently at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.

Among the performers were the Bloom Brothers, The Dawn, Freestyle, Slapshock, Spongecola, Mayonnaise, Gloc-9, the Mocha Girls, Kitty Girls, The Manoeuvers and The Philippine All-Stars.

SMB endorsers Marian Rivera, Isabel Daza, Georgina Wilson and Sam Pinto acted as program hosts; they were joined onstage by the PBA's San Miguel Beermen and billiard champs Efren Reyes and Django Bustamante.

Highlighting the event: A 3D light and sound spectacle, a 15-minute fireworks display and a fire dance by former actress and SMB commercial model Rachel Lobangco.

Walk to Fame'

"Walk to Fame," a talent search for new ramp and commercial models, is being mounted for a larger cause--provide assistance to homeless, abused and sick children in Nayon ng Kabataan in Mandaluyong.

"We're not just looking for typically attractive faces," says Jojo Victorio, whose Victo Rio modelling agency is behind the event. "We want the complete package, models who can talk and have good moral character, and most of all those who have the passion to help poor children."

Thirty aspirants were presented to the media on Saturday at Hyatt Hotel and Casino in Manila. Finals night is on Nov. 19 at Tanghalang Pasigueño at the back of Pasig City Hall.
