CC was spotted, with good friend Singer-Actress, lighting a candle in Baclaran Church.
Perhaps CC and SA are praying that the latest scandal that hit them would soon blow over.
But then again CC also brought along a nanny and five bodyguards to the church —the nanny to carry an expensive Hermes Birkin croc skin bag and the bodyguards to keep the hoi polloi away.
Or is the beefed-up security meant to shield CC and SA from their latest enemy—a rather Outspoken Personality?
Pulled out
After much speculation, GMA 7 issued a statement on Thursday saying that “it has pulled out Sunshine Dizon” from the afternoon soap ‘Tinik sa Dibdib’ due to health reasons.”
GMA 7 said that “Dizon’s condition would make it impossible for her to perform as an actress” and that the network had “advised her to rest in order to fully recover.”
Although the statement didn’t address the rumor, a network source denied that Dizon is pregnant. The insider said it could be due to Dizon’s “severe migraine,” the same reason that forced her to quit an earlier soap, “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan.”
Kapuso talent Nadine Samonte will replace Dizon on “Tinik... ”
Smear campaign
Word reached Movie Director 1 that Movie Director 2 was on a war path.
MD2 was allegedly badmouthing MD1.
MD1 was unperturbed because MD2 supposedly engaged in the smear campaign for business reasons.
MD1 knew that MD2 just got insecure. A high-profile client chose the former over the latter, that’s why.
Manager’s complaint
Talent Manager is fed up with a certain Movie Insider.
Seems TM’s Prized Ward is perennially short of cash because of MI.
TM thinks PW is spoiling MI. Every time PW goes abroad, MI expects expensive gifts as pasalubong.

Most winners in the game show “San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest Barkada Challenge” (Mondays to Fridays within GMA 7’s “Rosalinda” time slot) are reportedly from flood-hit areas.
Recently, 17 winners shared the P1-million cash prize. One of them, a father from Marikina, said he will use the money to fix his house. Another winner, from Pasig, said she will save part of the cash and use some of it to replace her kids’ uniforms and school supplies damaged by Tropical Storm “Ondoy.”

Kenji Williams tonight
This should be interesting. Ayala Malls has brought in Kenji Williams, a filmmaker, music producer and violinist who performs tonight with guest singer Nina at 6 p.m., Greenbelt 3 Park, Makati, and tomorrow, 7 p.m. at TriNoma, Quezon City.
According to his website, Williams bridges the worlds of music, visual arts, science and philosophy. He has collaborated with international DJ John Digweed, evolutionary philosopher Ken Wilber, world famous painter Alex Grey, the Gates Planetarium Dome Theater (Denver Museum of Nature and Science). His work has likewise been heard in music festivals around the world, mainstream television, film soundtracks, and institutions such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
His performances are said to combine music and visual media to tell a story of planetary consciousness and spiritual evolution.
A star named Frencheska
Before emerging as winner in the female category of GMA 7’s “Are You the Next Big Star” singing contest, Frencheska Farr admits she didn’t think she was going to be a star. Although she recalls having joined talent shows in school at St. Paul’s Parañaque, the songs she sang then were limited to ballads. She also didn’t believe she could dance.
Competing with thousands of applicants in the GMA production changed all that. GMA executives noted that, along with male category winner Geoff Taylor, what set Frencheska apart from the rest was confidence.
Frencheska and Geoff each won an exclusive management contract with GMA Artist Center, a record deal with GMA Records, a build-up package including regular guest spots in top shows, P1 million cash, and a studio unit at Avida Towers New Manila, Quezon City.

One of the interested buyers is High-Profile Tycoon who is rather “fond” of movie queens and handsome celebrities.

According to the gay rumor mill, Reality Hunk, who’s a small-town athlete, can be booked for dates for only P3,000.
RH’s equally Macho Brother is also in the same trade and charges a similar rate. Thing is, RH and MB are now instant celebrities.

Heart is Mega’s daughter
It’s confirmed. Heart Evangelista will play Sharon Cuneta’s prodigal daughter in the Metro Manila Film Fest entry, “Mano Po 6.”
The news was relayed to Rushes by Jun Lalin and Regal producers Lily Monteverde and Roselle M. Teo who met with Heart’s mother Cecilia Ongpauco and manager Annebelle Rama last Thursday. The family drama directed by Joel Lamangan, will shoot scenes in China.
Making his mark
Singer-TV host Mark Bautista was looking forward to his regular duties on ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show “Asap” when Tropical Storm “Ondoy” struck. Moved by the tragic images he saw on TV, Mark rushed to the ABS-CBN studio and helped in manning the telethon phone lines.
In the days that followed, Mark joined the distribution of relief goods in Quezon City and Marikina. He said he felt so sad that he kept calling friends to talk about how they could help some more.
One of those who responded was the owner of Mang Inasal, the fastfood chain which Mark happens to endorse. Mark said he was so touched that Mang Inasal donated cash and sacks of rice for the storm victims, even if a number of its branches were suffering as well from the floods. “My respect for the owner and management deepened,” Mark said.
