KC CONCEPCION will soon start her show biz career with a television special on ABS-CBN. Part of her entry into show biz is, naturally, the onset of intrigues. First, the long-time rumor linking her to film-TV director Lino Cayetano. Then the controversial statement of singer Billy Crawford that she was a “good kisser.”
Amid all the intrigues, however, KC remained poised and unaffected, still beaming that affectionate smile when reporters continue to bug her about these so-called issues. About Lino, she politely gave not really a showbiz remark but a response anyone could give: it’s something personal and should remain as such, without confirming or denying the rumor.
As for Billy, she immediately said that the comments made by the international Filipino singing sensation was understandable and would not think of making them to undermine her person. With his public apology, KC did not waste any more words: “Apology accepted.”
She comes into show biz without any sign of antagonism or indifference — a fresh breeze amid a polluted set of pretentious souls. Here’s hoping she remains as wonderful as she is once the real challenges of a show biz career becomes evident to her. I’m sure she will.

There’s an interesting rivalry on Philippine TV. No, not really the continuing ABS-CBN vs GMA-7 network wars but the international reality television producers apparently joining the protracted battle.
Dutch giant Endemol, which has partnered with ABS-CBN since 2003 for the Pinoy Big Brother franchise, is now faced with a formidable opponent: the British Fremantle empire that spawned the “Idol” phemonenon around the world. Things will come to a head in February when Endemol-backed ABS-CBN talent show “Pinoy Dream Academy” faces the Fremantle-produced “Philippine Idol,” which is now part of the GMA-7 stable.
We should expect more of their international hit shows to enter local airwaves as the intense rivalry now reached the Philippine arena.

It seemed Pops Fernandez made her revelations to YES! Magazine to prove that she gave Martin all the chances in the world to save their marriage. Well, the rest is history.
But Martin has a point in his desire to move on. Another painful attack, he says, but chuckled and remarked he has gotten used to it. He was hoping that he would soon be spared from all of it. Actually, this whole brouhaha would not have become “showbiz talk” again if the issue of the “jumping like monkeys” remark had not emerged.
Did Pops overreact? Or has Martin failed to act properly?

While I sympathize with Pops and the painful ordeal she must’ve gone through, I see no point in rehashing events that happened long ago solely for the benefit of a gossip-hungry public, especially when the only outcome is to open old wounds among everyone involved (especially Robin and Ram). I mean, c’mon, does she really owe anyone a full accounting of what really happened between her and Martin? I read the article, and like everyone else was intrigued and titillated by the details, but at the same time I couldn’t help but wonder why she’s still bitter after all these years. I loved the whole Martin-Pops loveteam like everyone else and remember vividly his announcement during Penthouse Live of their engagement, but my God, wasn’t that a million years ago? They both have moved on since their annulment nine years ago and now have separate lives. They claim to be doing all they can to be good parents to their children, which I’m sure they are. However, to reveal the details of what surely was the most painful event in their lives will do nothing but open their children up to more intrigue, more gossip, more heartbreaking public excoriation. I think at this point, Martin is within his rights to be shocked and dismayed that something he thought was in their past has been revisited for no good reason.

When you are “wronged” by your man and you have been traumatized by it, maybe its cathartic to speak about it once in your life then to truly leave it all behind and move on. You cannot move on until you have unloaded yourself of the burden. I guess Pops, more than defending her children, would really want to speak out to put Martin and his girlfriend in their rightful places.
Martin is much luckier than any men because he has always been loquacious and open about his affair while Pops may have been shrinking in humiliation.
For me, it was a necessary act on Pops part.

MARJORIE: You don’t know the events that led to this YES! tell all. This didn’t happen overnight, it didn’t happen on a whim. You don’t know anything about the subjects so you don’t have any right to judge Pops and her reason for coming out. You don’t know anything to reduce her speaking out to mere “bitterness”. You’re just a person outside looking in.
As for Martin being shocked and dismayed about the revelation, he shouldn’t be! He brought it all upon himself. He should have expected this! He knows everything that happened before this tell-all. In fact, he should be thankful to Pops that she opened up only now. If Pops spoke 9 years ago, Martin wouldn’t have enjoyed an image and career to this day. Nun pa lang, tapos na sha. Pops protected Martin for 9 years and obviously couldn’t protect him anymore. ABUSADO kasi si Martin. Yan ang hindi mo alam. He miscalculted Pops and thought this was the same Pops 9 years ago who would keep quiet and wouldn’t squeal on him. Well, he’s wrong! The Pops he knew then is not the same Pops he knows (or probably doesn’t know yet) now.
Martin and his family should even be thankful to Pops for not spilling everything. The YES! interview was not even half of it. There’s a lot more!
This is the first time Pops spoke. I say, give it to her. She has every right to speak whether it’s 2, 5, 9 yrs. after. It doesn’t matter. And it’s none of your business. If you didn’t like the idea, you shouldn’t have bought the magazine in the first place.
Pops’ public deserves to know what kind of animal Martin is. For her sanity and ours. And I’m sure that public is now satisfied to know who and what exactly Martin is.

i hope more people from the industry can take some lessons from kc as she is showing some sense in the movie world. we need more people like her as she is a true person.

I think Pops just wanna be on the news again. Lately she’s not that popular as she used to be. But for me she made the wrong decision. Kung wala silang anak na maapektuhan tungkol sa gossips ok lang. But his 2 boys will be more affected on her revelations. It has been 10 years since she and martin parted ways and they have been in good terms for the past few years. she shld. have let it that way for the sake of her 2 kids.

No matter what they say about Sharon Cuneta, you can’t deny that she is a very good mom, she raised kc well, other daughters whose parents are wealthy are spoiled brats. Sharon is a celebrity and she must be a very busy person, yet look at KC now, very responsible and educated. Makita mo talaga the way she answers interviews, may breeding talaga!

At first, I couldn’t get it why people as popular, moneyed and smart as Pops is would hop in from one relationship to another. Then, I started rethinking about her situation and those of others who seemed to be sharing her tendency. Now, I understand her more. She deserves to have her wounds healed. If that means letting it all out, then let her do it. We can only react and reflect on what others do but, we will never be in their position. We might find outselves in similar shoes, but the pain and our endurance to it would not be the same among us. As for Ram and Robin, they can’t be forever spared from the pains of life. Pops deserves to have her story told just as Martin and Katrina deserve to take the consequence of their actions.

we read in last sunday paper about abs-cbn execs torn between kc concepcion and angel locsin during their production planning meeting in bagui city. looks like it’s unanimous decision that they’ll push for kc’s tv career more than angel’s. a lot of kc fans will appreciate that cuz mega’s daughter is really such a lot more pretty and talented than angel locsin. feel happy for kc and so sorry for ms. angel!
