I believe that the case filed by ABS-CBN against AGB is a desperate act to malign the credibility of AGB Nielsen and GMA 7. A dirty tactic which might have repercussions on the credibility of ABS-CBN that has already been tainted by the Ultra Stampede and the Wowowee Controversy; allegations which might backfire to them. Filipinos are not dumb and I for my part believe that ABS has lost its credibility due to the controversies it has faced.

ABS-CBN, with all its resources and journalism experience, should have complemented their allegation with sound statistical evidence and video/audio data to back-up their claim.

They are both liar pag dating sa survey result, Nakakahiya kayo, wala naman kuwenta palabas ninyo mga tele drama at serye, you just teaching the pilipino people to be came immoral or promoting immorality base on the story of your useless show business.

ABS-CBN is leading on a nationwide measurement of TV ratings, GMAs leadership is limited only in Mega Manila.

I think the main concern here, is not about the two warring netwrok, but the way ratings are measured. If there’s really a manipulation, certain network gained already from it and people had already accepted its results.

Reaction in this issue should be based on facts and not on what network we prefer to watch.

this is pretty much obvious. the latest brouhaha over these TV ratings is a ploy. some parties here simply want to hide a bigger controversy: the wowowee “kita nyo” cheating rehearsal. it has happened a lot of times in politics. and now it’s happening in showbiz. may i ask who has ever said that there is a thin line between showbiz and politics? let the people talk: how many times have they ever experienced not being able to watch cable when there’s a big TV event in one of these local channels? i for one could not help but curse this dirty political TV “tacticians” every time my cable service is sabotaged. so who cheats and who does not? let the people speak for themselves.

Only ABS-CBN can come up with crap like that. But what can expect from a crappy station but all kinds of dirty, rotten crap.

It only shows dos is paranoid.
They also are showing that they really fill threatened by siete.

I don’t believe that GMA 7 can do that kind of tactics when obviously they’re reigning nowadays because of the effort and productive of making good quality shows. It’s really a desperate move on the side of ABS-CBN,they just can’t accept the truth that GMA 7 is the most viewed station now.

I was formerly an ABS CBN viewer, pero nakakasawa na yung programming nila kaya I decided to try GMA7, that was 5 years ago and until now, my television is always glued to GMA 7 the whole day.

That is correct! Yan ang hirap sa ugali nating mga Pinoy, hindi tayo tumatanggap ng pagkatalo. If we are defeated, let’s try to accept the fact that we lost and we will try our best to do better next time, hindi yung sisiraan natin ung nakatalo satin para lang makuha lahat ng gusto natin. Masahol pa kayo sa mga politiko na sinisiraan nyo e! Kung makapanira kayo ng mga politiko akala nyo pagkalinis-linis nyo. Ngayong natatalo kayo, lahat ng dirty tricks gagawin nyo para lang masira ang credibilidad ng ratings na minsan nyo na ring pinakinabangan at ipinagyabang. ABS-CBN, kayo ang dahilan kaya marami pa ring tangang Pinoy!

It is the responsibility of a network to guard its ratings. There’s nothing wrong in making sure that data used to get ratings is accurate and not tainted.

Why react to this comments on inquirer.net? Syempre lahat ng mga tao magcomment dito biased and pro GMA since inquirer and GMA had a tie-up. Second, syempre mag file ng libel suit ang GMA to protect din ung pangalan nila, if they wont act on it, mahahalatang guilty sila kaya they insisted on filing a case suit sa ABS. I cannot understand why all of a sudden GMA has a guts to file a case against DZMM. GMA 7 should be ashamed doing these things becoz at 1st they were the one playing dirty tactics for everyone to watch their shows. For me, shows of GMA 7 are boring. we live in seattle and we only had abs/tfc for the longest time until 2006. then gma pinoy tv was available to us in 2006. since then, we only watch gma shows. their shows are funnier, more original and they have a better signal thru direct tv. they may not have the stars but i feel stories and concepts are more important.

i’m not surprised by the allegations of abs. you come to expect these things from a company who gave us the ultra stampede, the wowowee cheating and biased 2004 elections reporting. because they have been able to get away with these things, they have become arrogant to the point of making up this ratings scam. if they put their creative efforts into their shows as much as they did on this supposed scam, their shows may rate better.

I know this is too late but I saw one episode of Sharon Cuneta on her show about plastic surgery and I think she is PLASTIC! She innocently pinches Kitkat’s nose asking her what a noselift feels like. PLASTIC! If you see her old pictures you can tell the difference. How come she still has a show?
And by the way, she interrupted the doctor during the interview. Who does she think she is? I do’nt know why ABSCBN still has her.

I’m just a 13 years old student but I could understand what is around this issue.

First of all, I believe that there are many things to tackle on this fight due to the fact that the 2 big stations in the Philippines are involved.

Let’s face it… Filipinos doesn’t know how to accept loss. But, we fight for the right. If these two networks ask for the real truth, then better if they listen to what each other is saying. It is clearly said by Maya Reforma; general manager of AGB in the interview in ABS-CBN that “the allegations pertained to GMA and the breach has done to these homes”, even though if GMA will say that it was not stated in the affidavit and the interview was not been delivered by ABS-CBN completely because basically, you can understand the part of the interview, if ever, in one instant. On the other, the attorney of AGB said to an interview in GMA that the name of GMA was not stated in the affidavit of Maya Reforma. The question, why would GMA filed a case to ABS of deformation if the two networks got different sides of the story from AGB? Why not if GMA too filed AGB who proved that 79 of the 536 homes were exposed to the efforts of GMA if they want that their name will be out of this? The DZMM headline was only based on what Maya Reforma said. If these allegations are founded guilty on GMA then they should always remember that they were not filed by ABS but it was AGB who proved it. If ever GMA is founded guilty, IT IS because ABS-CBN GOT THE EVIDENCES AND AGB PROVED IT AS STATED BY MAYA REFORMA but ABS is out of this because they didn’t file against you and maybe also not on AGB. Thank God no one filed to you. Always listen to each others sides because some people now are wise enough to judge what is right. ABS-CBN and GMA wanted the truth then don’t be dumb-headed, listen to each one’s sides… I don’t point who says the truth but one thing is sure…

The issue of the alleged ratings manipulation was blown out of proportion. ABS-CBN sued the research company so that it can ferret the truth. This was due to the fact that the agency continued to publish the results of a tainted survey. It was meant to stop and prevent the agency from giving results that are not reflective of the general viewing public. I just have a few reminders to the people that is so quite animated about this.

1. ABS-CBN sued AGB and not GMA - Precisely because its the agency that is supposed to uphold the integrity of the survey. It was not the station’s job to uphold this. For this ABS is right

2.ABS-CBN has in their possession the signed affidavit of Ms. Reforma - This was the basis of the report given by the station’s radio and TV report. It was with basis unlike what GMA is saying.

3. GMA sued the wrong party - If GMA wants to know the truth it should have also sued AGB so that the agency will be compelled to tell the truth. Instead GMA sued the wrong party.

4. AGB’s admission that the survey was tampered - By their admission, through Ms. Reforma’s affidavit, the survey was tainted they should have refrained from publishing the results.

5.AGB’s admission that “another network made promotional jobs” - Promos must be made on a area-wide scheme and not on a selected few. AGB also told the media that it is up to the court to decide if the promos were indeed material to cause a rigging in the ratings.

People should look into it with both eyes open and listen to it with both ears open. ABS-CBN has made the statements because they have in their hands evidence. GMA on the other hand has nothing to show to counter it otherwise. Their lawsuit serves as a smokescreen on the real issue - ratings manipulation. ABS never tried them in public, they are the ones who tried themselves by being too critical on what the evidence was telling the public.

when i watch the delayed telecasts of tv patrol here in california it has come to my attention that almost everyday they would report on this issue. now it come to bore me. if a case has been filed in the court why not wait for results instead of sensationalizing it everyday. just report a brief update, if there is an update. almost 1/4 of the newscast covers this issue and its indeed boring. since i am still interested to hear the rest of the news, what i do is i change the channel and put it back when i see it has ended.

i hope they stop this network wars and focus on giving good quality entertainment to the filipino people.

abs cbn staff try nyo pumunta sa guinpanaan, moises padilla at sa cabacungan, la castellana dito sa negros at mag interbyu kayo kung ano ang pinanood ng mga tao dahil lahat dito ay gma ang pinanood. lahat ng shows ng gma number 1 dito…abs cbn wala… zero… kaya wag nyo sabihin sa buong negros ay number 1 kayo…of course marami pang lugar na gma na rin kasi gumaganda na signal nila… just like sa proper ng la castellana at la carlota… and even sa murcia….

I’m not bragging any of the 2 station….i just wanna make a little objection about the way on how GMA7 appeal in the public…the issue is only for them to resolve…di n dapat nanddmay p ng iba…at isa pa…is an interview caught in video is not a concrete evidence? Medyo naguluhan lang ako s sinabi ng legal counsel ng GMA7…or he’s just trying to say that maya reforma was lying before the cameras?kasi kinonfirm pa ulit nung nag interview eh…and she confirmed it by saying “THE Network”….

Abs-cbn way back was the ultimate network, the greenest pasture of those who thrive on TV.

BUT THAT WAS BEFORE. GMA7 had taken-over as the network to run and die for.

Its a blessing that emanates from GMA-7’s FAIR AND HONEST company policies especially on news reporting.

What’s the make of ABS-CBN these days?
Spin network for those people with agendas, justified immoral acts by management of their personnels in the entertainment section, practices of dishonesty and boastful stance are evident in its news anchors and commentators.

ABS-CBN should change its ways before it sinks in hell.
