Just over three months since signing a five-year talent management deal with producer “Mommy” Rose Flaminiano, Gabby Concepcion is now seeking to end their professional ties due to claims of non-transparency and contractual discrepancies.
Through his lawyer Raymund Fortun, Gabby sent Mommy Rose a letter last week about his intention to sever ties if no settlement is reached.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday, Gabby revealed Mommy Rose’s habit of not disclosing details of the contracts for projects she had negotiated for the comebacking actor. Gabby mentioned he was kept in the dark on key details of a series of “22 shows” through November that Mommy Rose arranged for him.
So wala ka pang headache. Meron kang 22 shows hanggang November. That’s approximately two shows a week. Pati yan iintindihin mo pa. So nakumbinsi ako. Sabi ko, huwag na lang. Pinapirma ako sa isang papel na meron akong na-receive na downpayment para doon sa 22 shows. So markado na yon. Nandoon yung presyo, nandoon yung date,” Gabby stressed.
Gabby said Mommy Rose did not disclose that she was actively involved in the production of concert series.
“Pagkatapos ng 15th, 16th there’s six days or seven days until the 22nd of August. On the 22nd day, meron akong nakitang kontrata. Yung kontrata na yon, nakalagay doon, and this is notarized, nakita ko yung producer at si Mrs. Flaminiano nag-co-venture para doon sa 22 shows. She did not disclose because she wasn’t transparent about those 22 shows na siya pala ang mag-ko-co-produce,” Gabby revealed.
He also said that when he asked for a copy of the contract from the producer during one of scheduled shows in Tagaytay City last August 30, there was a discrepancy between the talent fee amounts in the contract that he signed and the notarized contract.
“Doon ako sumama ang loob. Meron kaming show noon August 30 sa Tagaytay. Pagdating ko doon, eto ngayon yung kontrata. Sabi ko, I would like to see the contract for this show because wala akong kontrata. Nandoon siya. So nakita yung producer. Binigay sa akin yung kontrata. So nakita ko doon nga. May discrepancy doon sa kontrata with what I signed and what the contract says na hindi ko pinirmahan. Maliit na amount lang naman eh. P125,000 (ang nakalagay sa pinirmahan ko). (Ang nasa kontrata) P150,000,”” he said.
Since then, Gabby said, he sought out Mommy Rose to meet and settle the issue. He claimed Mommy Rose had not showed up in all the meetings he requested.
“Gusto ko siya kausapin. That night, di niya ako sinipot. The next day, sinabi ko sa kanya, through (an emissary), na kung pwede ko siyang kausapin para maayos na namin ito. Hindi na naman siya nagpakita. Nandoon kami sa Rembrandt,” the actor added.
Gabby said he only wanted Mommy Rose to be transparent with him in all her dealings made in his behalf.
“Ang point ko dito kailangan sabihin niyo lang sa akin. Sabihin niyo sa akin ano ang gagawin ko, saan, ano yung nakasulat sa kontrata. Nasaan yung kontrata ko? Kasi importante sa akin yung kontrata because I need to submit this to the BIR. Yun ang madalas kong sinasabi sa kanya. I need records,” he said.
As he seeks to rescind his management contract with Mommy Rose, Gabby said can be personally contacted for any projects.
“Kung tatanungin nila sino ang pwede naming tawagan, meron naman akong telephone number,” he said.
Asked if Mommy Rose could still accept projects for him because of the five-year deal she and Gabby signed before the actor’s return to the Philippines, Gabby said he will further consult his lawyers.
“Well yun na nga ang question na dapat harapin sa aking lawyer. Kasi kung tumatanggap pa rin siya ng tumatanggap, yun na nga ang nagiging problema namin kasi I’m not aware doon sa mga tinatanggap niya. Dapat makita ko muna,” Gabby said.
For her part, Mommy Rose sent a statement to “The Buzz” saying all Gabby’s claims were “lies.”
“Walang katotohanan ang mga pinagsasabi ni Gabby Concepcion. Ito ay pawang kasinungalingan at handa (akong) humarap sa media para sabihin ang buong katotohanan,” Mommy Rose said.
Mommy Rose will appear on “The Buzz” this Sunday to air her side.

gabby maybe a lot of things but being ingrate and mukhang pera are not one of them. some people take advantage of his situation when they knew that he had no one to help him. RF and her paid writers should not dig up past mistakes of Gabby just to discredit him, just answer his allegations with transparency and honesty, let us talk about the present.

publicity
puclicity gimmick lang yan para mapag usapan. an actor needs good press para sumikat or para di malimutan ng tao. wait a few weeks at lalabas din yan na nagkaayusan na sila, sasabihin nyan, its all a misunderstanding blah blah… madali kasing maniwala mga pinoy eh. gullible kasi tayo haha

If I were Mrs Rose F., let Gabby buy out his managerial contract.

Gabby is only asking for transparency and I agree that it is absolutely the right thing to do. Exploitation of one’s worth by others should not be tolerated. Good luck Gabby at sa iba pang artista. Karapatan niyo yan.

hahaha! idolforever, are you serious when you said that gabby is not “mukhang pera”?! you might have already forgotten his past issues! sharon cuneta, grace ibuna, dindi gallardo and jenny syquia — what do they have in common? their pockets were all left bleeding! not to mention their hearts
but in this issue, i agree with you that he seems innocent. i also think that he has changed and learned from his past mistakes. it’s just that with his very bad reputation in terms of women and money, it is so hard to convince people of his innocence now.

These showbiz managers are all after money all at the expense of their talents. Talents has no choice because thats their business. Without managers, they wont have shows. But in this case, I believe Gabby. Rose Flaminiano is taking advantage of gabby. Gabby is out of the country for so long that right now he seems to be at a lost and do not know whom to trust. Better manage himself.

Maria, how sure you are na ang ginatasan ni Gabby ang mga past girlfriends nya? Gabby belonged to a rich clan and i am aware of that because one of his brothers is my classmate in Aquinas, they are already rich even before he entered showbiz. The reason why many girls wanted a piece of him because he is ” well endowed”.

this is for Mrs. Rose Feliciano:
I have read your comments in PEP and i find it ‘mababaw’ na hindi mo maintindihan kung ano ang inirereklamo ni Gabby. It is not the amount that he is after, it is the principle. You are his manager and yet you also were a co producer of his shows? double gain ang tawag duon. binarat mo sya as talent para lumaki ang kita mo as producer?? un ang issue duon , kaya wag ka na magungkat pa nang mga kuwento.

gabby signed a 125,000.00 pesos contract per show.
what prevails is the amount he is to be paid that he signed in the contract and nothing else.

Ay nako mommy rose pang Famas ang acting mo sa TV ah..kunwari umiiyak ka ala namang luha…he he he he! My point ci Gabby nuh!

Gabby has a point here. Being transparent and honest in work dealings is an ethical thing to do. And if Gabby doesn’t wanna work with RF, let him be…after all, we’re living in a free society. If that will happen to me, I’ll do the same…find another manager/mentor who won’t exploit me!

for the two people involved. why don’t you guys be honest about everything . do not make other people involve on this mess ……just you and the other party…..do not make it more complicated by making up stories not related to the main problem…..both of you should settle this mess with your lawyers in a private way….then tell the public the verdict afterwards anyways this will lessen the burden and the complications on both sides….. peace will please everybody !!!!
whatelse....
add on:
remember people:….. .health , peace , love and happiness is WEALTH!!!. why don’t we filipinos be positive and be an advocate of this !!!!. did we forget the most important and priorities in life???? nobody is perfect but this help us all to lead a better life ………if we start it in our own way…..

Gabby has a history with his “career” (or the lack of it), being handled by anyone besides his families. He should be thankful that his just a Filipino “artist”. In Hollywood there is such thing as being black listed. An American actor named Jason Behr. sued his manager to get the extra cash that he rightfully and legally deserves when he became famous.
Instead of a thank you he served him with a subpoena. Unfortunately for him his manager was a powerful Hollywood figure and they took note of him since then the actor never regain his career he made movies that are straight to video and the only one that he made with anything that resembled a box office notice was the Grudge. but the success was due to the storyline and Sarah Michelle Geller. I think if Gabby is unable to change his ways. He should go balk to the US and be a simple taxi driver that he used to be. And give up his career and stop wasting every bodies time and money. He’s old enough to know that in order for him to succeed in any form of entertainment he needs to be handled by an expert. Consistently biting the hands that feed him is not the way for him to disappear from the Philippine showbiz radar forever. The entertainment business survived without him before they could do it again. for every Gabby Concepcion there are 10 young virile mestizos to be mold after him and replace him. He’s no spring chicken anymore and his talent is still questionable.
I’M JUST SAYING!!

Give Gabby a fair deal. Here’s a man who is back in the Philippines to set straight his past indiscretions, and is trying to live an honest, decent life. I believe in what the man is saying re: his manager. Please let him have his life back. He has suffered enough and learned his lessons from it.

aayyy…si gabby balik pelikula na. i hope he makes good as an actor and not just a pretty face. buti nga meron pa pumupuna sa show mo eh

gabby is on the right track of rescinding management contract with mrs. flaminiano. any contract should be built on trust and apparently, gabby has lost his trust and confidence in mrs. flaminiano due to the latter’s lack of transparency. gabby is a changed man; got his degree from the usa and a much more mature and reliable person more than ever; has got so much talent and of course charisma with his adoring fans and audience. go gabby go! don’t mind the intrigues. all the best!

Gabby’s case is similar to Manny Pacquiao’s who signed a boxing contract two years ago with US promoter Murad Muhammad only to find out that Murad excluded Manny from the multi-million pay-per-view deal Murad signed with HBO. Manny sued for 33 million dollars share from the PPV. Knowng he would lose in court for non-disclosure of the deal with HBO, Murad settled with Pacquiao out of court. It is believed Manny must have received about half of the amount as his share.

Hello,
It is really sad to know the issue between manager and ward but transparency is a simple issue and take note it is really disappointing that the manager is hiding lots of skeletons on the closet.

i am not really a gabby concepcion fan however i am of the opinion that he is the one who is on the right side this time. a contractual agreement between two people means that everything should “kwentas claras” as the spanish say between them. reading through the article, whether we speak of a discrepancy of 25,000 that is still a large amount when you add it all up for each of the shows. if the funds were used promotions or whatever other expense for the shows then it should be declared. mr. concepcion has had his ups and downs in the industry and in his life. some people say that what is happening to him is karma. i disagree. i think he was just taken for a ride by someone who saw the peso potential in bringing him back to manila. my sympathies to your mr. concepcion. i hope things will work out for you. and karma? well what goes around comes around and both mrs. flaminiano and mr. concepcion will get their just desserts (both for good or for ill) when the time is right - as they say, “in God’s time”
