Quantcast Showbiz Talk: Carlene Aguilar Archives

GMA-7's "Showbiz Central" bared the facts. Contrary to published reports, there was no physical confrontation between former beauty queen Carlene Aguilar and sexy actress Cristine Reyes. Only a whisper comprised their interaction. In the actual footage shown by the Sunday showbiz talk show on the encounter of the two ladies in Dennis Trillo's life inside the dressing room of the GMA-7 game show "All Star K," Carlene approached Cristine, who was seated and having her make up done, and whispered some words that apparently surprised the young actress, shown on the video with her eyes expressing shock. Carlene then immediately turned back and walked towards the exit of the dressing room. Before leaving, however, she made one final glance at Cristine, observing what the latter's reaction was to her short "statement." "Showbiz Central" quoted a source as saying that Carlene allegedly whispered to Cristine that her former boyfriend, Dennis, did not love her and was only after "physical" satisfaction from their relationship. Dennis, according to the report, was courting Cristine. Carlene had recently given birth to Dennis's child, Calex Andrea, in the US. She had returned to Manila, reportedly to patch things up with Dennis for the sake of their child. But things turned awry between them due to Dennis's relationship with Cristine. *** Gabby Concepcion to make a showbiz comeback? His daughter with former wife Sharon Cuneta, KC Concepcion, hinted in a recent interview about Gabby's return to the big screen soon. KC said she was happy her dad intended to act again and was seriously entertaining an offer from a major studio. KC, however, did not give any further details. Previously, Gabby had said that he would agree to appear in movies again provided that shooting of his scenes would only take place in the US. He said he did not intend to come back to the country apparently to avoid the controversy that forced him to leave for the US. Gabby was among those involved in the 1994 Manila Film Festival scam. Gabby is now a successful sales professional in the US. Interestingly, Gabby made a surprise message to birthday celebrant Jolina Magdangal in the GMA-7 Sunday noontime show, "SOP." Could this signal his availability for movie offers, if not his formal inclusion in a major film project? Let's wait and see.
Nothing else could describe Carlene Aguilar besides being a "woman scorned." This she dutifully proven when she confronted Cristine Reyes, a young actress apparently following the footsteps of her sister, sexy actress Ara Mina. Cristine is rumored to be the new girlfriend of Dennis Trillo, Carlene's former boyfriend and father of her newborn Calex Andrea. According to published reports, Carlene had dropped by the taping of the GMA-7 game show "All Star K" to meet her friend Jenny Miller. As she was talking to Jenny, she noticed that Cristine was also there and would also guest in the game show. Carlene asked Jenny that she'd be introduced to Cristine. She declined, knowing how potentially "explosive" that introduction would be. Carlene then asked an "All Star K" staffer to introduce her to Christine. The staffer also declined. She then decided to introduce herself and this led to the physical confrontation. Carlene allegedly held Cristine's hand tightly and twisted it in utter rage. Cooler heads then intervened. "All Star K" staffers then asked Carlene to leave the set so that the situation would not worsen. She complied. It was not known whether Dennis had known about the incident. Obviously, Carlene had confronted Cristine because of the latter's reported liaisons with Dennis, which the young actress denied.  Cristine's relationship with Dennis was purportedly the reason why the actor had refused to reconcile with Carlene. The former beauty queen had returned to the Philippines reportedly to patch things up with Dennis. But everything turned awry, thanks to Dennis's rumored new ladylove. * * * Another tale of "women rage." Young actor John Lloyd Cruz went on the defensive in a recent press conference of his movie "One More Chance" with Bea Alonzo. John Lloyd repeatedly apologized for a remark he made when asked for comment on co-star Maja Salvador's statement that she suddenly had a monthly period after her first kissing scene with him in the film. John Lloyd reminded the entertainment press in his remark that Maja was referring to her menstruation, "hindi po orgasm." During the event, John Lloyd publicly called out Maja's manager Chit Ramos to apologize but the latter ignored him.  This was after a reporter called his attention about how his remark had offended Maja and Chit. John Lloyd said his remark was merely a "joke" and should not be taken seriously.  But if he offended Maja and her handlers, he apologized. But obviously, the damage has been done.
AFTER that explosive revelation that he is the father of beauty queen Carlene Aguilar's son, Calix Andrea, Dennis Trillo seems so sure of himself that such an issue will not affect his career. In fact, history backs him up. Vhong Navarro did it. Piolo Pascual did it. Gary Valenciano did it (when he was still a struggling singer). Because of this, it is quite safe to say that he made a right decision because not doing so would definitely haunt him personally and in effect his career. Dennis tells GMA-7's "Showbiz Central," the show in which he made the revelation: "Kung ano man yung responsibilidad na nandiyan, wala akong balak talikuran. Siyempre, haharapin ko lahat yon. Sa dami ng blessings na dumadating sa akin, gusto kong isipin na itong dumating na ito isang malaking blessing ito.” But being a father henceforth is terribly a different thing. He should become the responsible father he vows to become and this entails a lot of sacrifices too even if he remains a "single dad." Obviously, he does not plan to marry Carlene, at least in the very near future. Apart from the monetary responsibility, his revelation should even commit him to a greater role--that is of being a father, not a mere provider. * * * Snooky Serna's shocking revelation that she was raped at age 14 really had my eyes glued to the television set last Sunday. Though she gave details like: 1) It happened in her home; 2) The perpetrator was someone close to her (since she allowed her home); 3) She revealed it first to her aunt and then her mother, Mila Ocampo; 4) She was forced to do the acts by the perpetrator. But she stopped short of even hinting who the perpetrator was. She said the person had been living in peace already and would not want to create further embarrasment to the person and purportedly his family. But why reveal it in the first place, two decades since? Well she has her reasons. But all victims of such cruelty should be given ample support to recover from the ordeal. And Snooky said she has.
