Talent manager Lolit Solis will not challenge Annabelle Rama’s verbal tirades over her own remarks that questioned Ruffa Gutierrez’s ill-feelings towards Lani Mercado.

“Ayokong makipag-away kay Annabelle. Hindi dahil sa natatakot ako sa kanya. Wala akong iniwanang laban. Kung kailangan akong makipag-away, makikipag-away ako. Pero ayokong makipag-away sa kanya dahil tinitignan ko pa rin yung 30 years na naging friendship namin. Wala pa si Ruffa, magkaibigan na kami. Kaya nagtataka ako bakit nagiging personal ang mga bagay na ito,” Lolit says in a live interview Saturday on GMA-7 showbiz oriented talk show “Startalk,” which she co-hosts.

A day after Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby filed a libel case against Lolit Solis, the talent manager-TV host went on the offensive, claiming she has in her possession a video of Piolo at the Pasay hotel where she had claimed in her tabloid column seeing them sharing an intimate moment at a coffee shop.

This article became subject of the 12-million-peso libel case, in which Lolit claimed to have caught Piolo and Sam sharing a “sweet” moment at the Hotel Sofitel poolside café.

Lolit emphasized in an interview Saturday with the GMA-7 talk show she co-hosts, “Startalk”, that Piolo was a liar for claiming he was not at Sofitel in the afternoon of Oct. 12. The video in her possession, she said, would prove it.

Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby were true to their word in their vow to sue Lolit Solis if the talent manager-TV host did not retract her report in her tabloid column last month that she saw the two actors in a Pasay hotel coffee shop in an intimate chat. The Inquirer and Inquirer.net report by Allison Lopez published on Nov. 17 said:

“Movie actors Piolo Jose Pascual and Samuel Lloyd “Sam” Milby yesterday (November 16) filed a P12-million libel suit against show biz columnist Lolita “Lolit” Solis at the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office, for portraying them as “gay men” in an Oct. 15 newspaper column.

In their joint complaint, Pascual and Milby named Solis and Pilipino Star Ngayon’s entertainment editor Veronica Samio as respondents in the case that stemmed from an item in Solis’ ‘Take It, Take It’ column, where she claimed to have seen the male singers being ’sweet’ in the poolside coffeeshop of the Sofitel Hotel around 4 p.m. of Oct. 12.

Actor-singer Sam Milby demanded a retraction and public apology from TV host-talent manager Lolit Solis, who claimed in her tabloid column a week ago that she saw him and fellow actor Piolo Pascual sharing a sweet moment at the Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza coffee shop.

If Lolit won’t retract or apologize, Sam’s threat: “I will sue.”

While Piolo has not made any statement regarding the controversy, his talent handlers have emphasized that the actor was studying his legal options.

Feisty show biz talent manager Lolit Solis dropped a bombshell on an otherwise lazy Monday morning.  That of an alleged Hotel Sofitel (formerly the Westin Philippine Plaza) rendezvous of two matinee idols by the poolside.

Lolit bared in her tabloid column that she got “lost” inside the hotel purportedly searching for the venue of an exhibit she was invited to attend. While seaching she ended up in a cafe restaurant by the Sofitel pool, which had a few patrons on that Friday afternoon.  As she tried to look for a way out of the cafe, Lolit noticed two male patrons on the far end of the cafe from where she was standing who were “sweet” to each other. They whispered and talked intimately, she said, with their faces almost touching each other at one point. This was when she tried to get closer and take a clear look to confirm what she suspected. Restaurant staff, she said, called her by name and when they did, the two left the place in a huff. But before they did leave, she was very much sure who the “couple” was–Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby. This, she said, the restaurant staff confirmed. They said the two frequent the place because of its discreet location, which is far from any show biz follower’s prying eyes.

Camps of the two actors, however, belied Lolit’s tale. In a PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) report, Piolo’s handlers said the actor was doing a shoot for a Timex commercial at the time the alleged sighting took place, a claim corroborated by the watchmaker’s executives. On the other hand, Sam was at the Essensuals Toni & Guy Salon in Makati at that time, a separate PEP report said. From there, the actor-model then proceeded to a shoot in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
