Remember FunTwo? He’s now all grown up. I stumbled upon this video from YouTube Live, which features two of my guitar idols, Joe Satriani and FunTwo–yes the young and mysterious YouTube guitar virtuoso who played Canon in D. Watch them jam:

Here’s FunTwo’s famous YouTube video:

Funtwo’s “phenomenal” video was made possible by heavy advertising by YouTube itself directing heavy traffic to his video in its early days. His rock interpretation of Pachelbel’s classic “Canon” made it doubly exciting.

One Pinoy guitarist stands out but does not get the same number of hits despite superior playing technique and excellent video editing skills. Check out “jakelights” in YouTube and find out how his guitar duel (with himself!) deserves more views. Check out also his versions of Steve Vai and Satch. Great guy!
