I had the privilege of meeting and jamming with this kind and wonderful man when I was in college. Aside from being a virtuoso on the bass, Dondi had a really warm heart. His talent went way beyond his fingers. He was soulful, and really dedicated his life to music. I am proud to have been his friend and hope that he is in musical heaven along with the greats.
