Return of Jaworski

SO, what do you think of former senator Robert Jaworski’s possible return to the Philippine Basketball Association?

Here’s an excerpt from Musong R. Castillo’s story for the Philippine Daily Inquirer:

MANILA, Philippines–Robert Jaworski will be making his much-anticipated return to the Philippine Basketball Association, the league he helped make great, in the next season.

That is, if a greater calling does not get in the way.

The 6-foot Living Legend, one of the finest all-around players this country has ever produced, has resumed talks with Air21 management about a coaching job after the contracts of Bo Perasol and his team were not renewed.

Are you a fan of Jaworski? If he does become the Air21 coach, do you think he still has what it takes to whip the team into shape and steer it to a championship?

well….it will be fantastic! manonood na naman ako ng PBA! since JAWORSKI left the PBA, hindi na ako nanood pa ulit. boring kasi, puro pa-cute na lang ang mga players. hindi katulad ni JAWO, nandoon lahat ang excitement! he can turn the dome upside down, only by his presence!…this is what i remember him saying to his team…”WHEN THE GOING GETS ROUGH…BE TOUGH!” (balyahan ulit!)….and it becomes my motto too. He will be a very good coach! Number 7 pa rin!….JAWORSKI..JAWORSKI! I can wear my JAWORSKI t-shirt again!

Whatever has been said & done, the big J was and will probably the only biggest single attraction the PBA has ever produced. I remember the time when I was watching with my father those fabled TOYOTA-CRISPA then later GINEBRA-ALASKA/SHELL games…. yes folks… the original “destroyer” is back (sorry to Distrito- tsk.tsk. pity he’s in a US jail) I would say… good for the league, good for the tickets, good for the overall marketing of the PBA and the salvation of all jobs in the present PBA Management Team.

Jaworski is Jaworski, Ginebra is Ginebra Jaworski is Ginebra. I don’t think returning to the PBA via another team is good for the Living Legend. Remember Jordan when he returned the second time not as a bull but as a wizard?
