DANG, both defending champ Ronnie Alcano and Efren “Bata” Reyes have been eliminated from the 2007 World Pool Championship.
I’m still stunned. Do you hear that sound? It’s the sound of Filipino hearts breaking all over the Philippines and around the world.
Who do you think will bring home the prize this year?

Now that Orcollo is also out Pagulayan is the best hope for the Philippines to lift the crown. Although personally I would like to Jeff de Luna to win it because of his fiery personality, a true-blood local player and he represents the younger generation.

Bata is on a slump and certainly not a favorite to win the tournament. In fact it would be a surprise to see him in the semis. Alcano is certainly a big loss but is also not doing very well lately especially after the controversial case against him became a public fodder.
Among the Filipinos, the best record lately is Dennis Orcullo so it would be disappointing if he does not even reach the semis. I think he has enough potential to take the crown.
