BOXING fans now have an opportunity to watch the Oscar De La Hoya versus Manny Pacquiao fight.
Limited seats have been made available following an arena reconfiguration for “The Dream Match” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The match will feature two of boxing’s biggest attractions: Olympic gold medalist and 10-time world champion De La Hoya and current Ring Magazine No. 1-ranked pound-for-pound champion Pacquiao.
They are scheduled to fight on December 6 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MGM said tickets are now on sale and available for purchase here and here.
The bout will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST.

The Dream Match between Manny and Oscar puzzles boxing afficionados worldwide as no sure-fire bet is guaranteed. Manny’s edge : age, speed, stamina ,power and bravado. Oscar’s advantage : solid boxing fundamentals, size and reach, and brains. My bold prediction is that if The Golden Boy of Old shows up, Manny has to beef-up his purse money for the rainy days and consider the (Nightmare Match) Dream Match as a pension source. Nevertheless, let’s hope for the best!

While I was watching one of the segment of the Paquiao de la Joya preparation on HBO the other night, I am really bothered from what I saw on the screen. Paquiao is a national pride of our country and as a Filipino I am excited about his accomplishments. However, the show illustrated and showed such a negative portrayal of the team. for example, the group of men were celebrating their Thanksgiving and one of the trainers was eating with his bare hand, with no shirt at all and filling his mouth with rice, displaying his big belly, this is common actions for the “common man” in the Philippines but in this section it was shown without any explanation that Filipinos as well as other countries often eat with their hands. They were portrayed as uncivilized with little or no manners. This segment is unfair - the pride of our country is being depicted this way without any comment or realization that this is an unfair depiction.
Focus should be on the possible attributes and the positive messages he brings as the pride of the Filipinos instead of the unsanitary habits of a few that happen to accompany him during training.
