Oh, and just to give justice to these people, I also just remembered there is a 20-something geneticist in NY. All of these happen to be my family members, albeit quite extended. But I’m proud of them and they continue to seek excellence despite all adversities and people like girrard.

I don’t usually glorify web comments but girrard’s post is particularly repulsive and very reminiscent of the Malu Fernandez tiff that everyone got wind of recently.
All I will say to you, girrard, is dump your negative attitude somewhere else, preferably not in this country or even in this planet. I myself personally know there is a Filipino analyst in Bloomberg, who has appeared in television, but I will not even grant the satisfaction of explaining this any further because it trivializes my life and beliefs, which is more meaningful and substantial outside this virtual world.
I hope this is true for you as well. Please do some research first before living on your prejudices, or better yet, why not try to be a Bloomberg analyst if you’re looking for one?

to gerrard mag isip isip ka muna not all indians are paid more than filipino IT professionals kaya sila nag exist sa first world dahil sa ugali nila they have a unified goal and always work as a team, which is wala sa mga pinoy. kung sa level of education I think nakakalamang tayo. kulang nga lang sa support ng government natin sa mga IT graduates kaya di tayo masyado nakaka penetrate sa world market. At saka not all pinoys are just a low level workers kaming mga filipino fashion designers, we exist in the fashion world dahil sa creativity ng pinoy na hindi pwedi smallin ng mga banyagang fashion designers kaya I am proud to be a Overseas Filipino Worker no matter what.

of course, we do have filipino wall street analysts, scientist-grads from MIT, business executives with MBAs from Harvard, US policy makers and even politicians. nung 9/11 ilang filipinos ang biktima, hindi lang na-sensationalize sa media doon tulad ng ginagawa dito. nung Virginia Tech massacre hindi ba’t may side story tungkol sa Filipino student association doon…hindi dahil hindi sila lumalabas sa Bloomberg o sa TV ay walang mga ganitong mga successful na pinoy abroad. but what is actually important is for them to bring the knowledge they learned abroad back to their homeland….one more thing, I would assume may konting exaggeration yung sinabo mong (to paraphrase) “99% ng IT staff sa American ay Indians”….in fact the long-standing trend is to outsource (hire abroad), and in that regard naglilipatan ang mga BPO contracts from India to Philippines dahil sa ating more favorable work ethic, US-English orientation and more positive personal attitude. We Filipinos aren’t perfect but we have lots to be reasonably proud of…wala lang tayong bilib sa sarili…it’s what pulls us down, oftentimes.

ang galing na tsimay, driver, cleaner, factory worker, seaman at hard labor ang mga pinoy/pinay sa mundo !!! Dapat siguro meron na rin tayong mga physicist, analyst sa wall street, at highly rated na scientist sa america na filipino pero cook lang sa white house ang kayang maabot natin for now. kasi puro caregiver at nurses ang pilipino sa america. konti nga lang ang IT, 99% ng IT staff sa america ay indian na napaka dakila ang alam sa technology. Ang education natin sa pilipinas ay palibhasa mababa ang standard. Ang daming analyst sa wall street na nang gagaling ng India. Wala pa akong pilipinong nakita na nag sasalita sa Bloomberg.
