TUGUEGARAO CITY–An Asian Spirit Boeing plane carrying 18 casino players from Macau landed at the Tuguegarao airport last Thursday to start its flight from that Chinese gambling center.

The Macau visitors were invited by officials of the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport in Sta. Ana town.

Cagayan officials led by Gov. Alvaro Antonio led the group that welcomed the visitors, who were entertained with songs and dances at the airport.

“The historic flight opens the development and progress of Cagayan,” Antonio told the visitors.

With the flight from Macau to Tuguegarao, Asian Spirit plans to have other flights from 14 cities in Asia and the Pacific to ferry tourists and investors to Cagayan, he said.

“An Asian Spirit Boeing plane carrying 18 casino players from Macau landed at the Tuguegarao airport last Thursday to start its flight from that Chinese gambling center.”

- Just a correction. The plane being referred to is actually an BAe 146 plane built by British Aerospace (now part of BAE Systems), and not Boeing as written in the report. The plane is often marketed as the Whisperjet because of its quiet four turbofan engines. Its engines are not also Boeing in origin, as they are actually Honeywell in brand (4 ALF-502R-5 turbofans).

one word… TRIADS. The Chinese mafia will be all over Cagayan. ok… I know how important it is to open our borders specially for the sake of economic gains, but really now haven’t you seen the illegal migrant Chinese businessmen working in the country. Not out local chinese, but from Taiwan, mainland China and Hongkong.

I am a Cagayana now based abroad and very happy to learn of such developments taking place in my beloved province. Hopefully progress will soon be felt by my provincemates and that Cagayan will mark its footprints in the country as well.
