THREE hours can be a boring trip but if you let your eyes be amused by the green scenery and the atmosphere of a province, it won’t be.
As we were on our way to the Pantabangan Dam, the sights of the green fields and the bathing carabao (water buffalo) in a stream tell me how serene and simple life can be in the province.
Though the landscape of the province can be relaxing to the eyes, the zigzag road can make one feel dizzy. No wonder why some of our companions chose to sleep.

It took us three hours before we reached our destination -- Pantabangan dam in Nueva Ecija. It so happened that there were three routes going to the dam. We took the Rizal-Llanera-Pantabangan route. We should have taken the shortcut from Munoz but we were given wrong directions. So we got lost.
Before we entered the Pantabangan Complex, where the Pantabangan dam is located, we passed by security inspection at the gate. Inside the complex, you’ll also find hydro-electric power plants, a hotel, and barangay (village).
The scenic view of the

Pantabangan dam enveloped by the Sierra Madre mountain was worth the long trip. The view would be a sure delight to photographers and painters who love to paint and take photos of landscapes.
The Pantabangan dam is one of the most visited tourist spots in Nueva Ecija, the tourism department says.
sana nagresearch din ang writer about the history of pantabangan dam. and she'd know that hundreds of families lost their farmlands and livelihood because of that infrastracture.
Thank you for featuring Pantabangan Dam. I saw the place in 1987 during one of our educational tours in College and it is still breathtaking today.
Tama ka dyan Kata, kaya nga ako till this day di ako appreciative sa mga dam kasi mas ang naiisip ko ang mga nagsa-suffer na mawalan ng bahay at kabuhayan just to give way for a dam like that. Not to mention those who lose their lives in the process of defending their land. Talagang mapapaisip ka kung para saan ang development kung mismong ito e perwisyo pra sa mga tao.
I enjoy reading your blog on Pantabangan Dam in Nueva Ecija. Makes me feel visiting the place. Are there picnic areas nearby?
Have a good day!
Your article brings back memories of the past. The residents of old the town of Pantabangan gave up their lands and risked
their future to give way to progress. The dam (completed in 1974) inundated the old town and buried with it were the dreams of old town heroic residents. I wish I could travel again in the land of my birth so I could
always remember the heroism of its residents.
Hi, anyone planning to visit Pantabangan should not go home without trying out the Sapang Putol. Just ask anyone there and will gladly tell you where it is. It is a river like no other. It is nature at its best. Picnic areas and free flowing freshwater with a rain forest at the background. I was born and raised at the village called Campsite. I have seen the best. Lot of memories. Would like to come back and tell my kids some history.
As much as i love nature, i am very much excited to visit pantabangan dam. I will be a Local tourist since i Just live at low areas where its surcharge water flows, (Jaen, Nueva Ecija)..
