Hi,
This only means that the government website has a weak website security. If the
y can defaced the DTI website that means they already penetrated the network an
d they can steal sensitive information. The government should invest more in th
eir IT infrastructure security. They should not take this for granted even if i
t is a holiday. The worst thing that these hackers can do is penetrate the IT
network of the BSP or NTC or SSS or our stock market and steal our money. We pa
y taxes, government please use it wisely.
Hackers and virus are all the same who try to destruct our systems. We've been battling against hackers for decades now but have only marginally improved in the protection features. Hackers do not need much information about their victims just a hint is enough to decode or crack passwords. The Palestine message on the DTI website was insensible, what did the DTI do to be reminded about Palestinians? Hackers and their language! The Department of Trade and Industry is a highly sensitive department of the country , the concerned authorities need to beef up on the security works because a master plan always does not get executed immediately, it may surface up even after years. Hackers run an illegal network which tries to harm the interest of the society and since there isn't much we can do once they get into our territory the best advise is to prevent them before hand.
