Repeating the same mistake is stupidity.
Why has the government considered peace talks with MILF based on the political implications correlating the continuation of the existence of the present government by way of charter change. The intention of the government seems to be their extension of their term of office thru cha-cha rather than to forge meaningful MOA that will be mutually beneficial to both the entire country and MILF being its integral part and not separate entity.
The aim of the MOA-BJE should be to have mutual co-existence and harmony among all Filipinos irrespective of their culture, belief, and religion without breaking into pieces any part of the country.
It is not beneficial to the GRP to appoint negotiating panel persons without expertise in the constitutionality of all items covered by the peace talk. Majority or the Head of the Panel on the government side should be legal luminaries that will not compromise the total integrity of the Republic of the Philippines.
What had been said by the MILF is that they don’t reconize Philippine Constitution when the legality of the MOA-BJE was questioned as well as the Supreme Court that issued TRO for the final signing of MOA-BJE. For this reason, I find no meaning for the GRP to continue the signing of the MOA_BJE. It should be totally rejected.

Hi Tolits;
Are you aware of the cause of the conflict in Mindanao?
The moros (people of Mindanao) who are not colonized did not recognize that their area is part of the Philippine teritory…..that is why there is MILF fighters willing to sacrifice to imposed that belief that we are not filipinos.
for you suggestion to for us to leave the Philippine, Yes we are not leaving in the philippine teritory. the Philippine government is forcibly annexing our area an imposing its law to be implemented here.

This MOA-BJE is just a beginning. Once it is done, many more MOA’s will appear until the entire Phillipine territory has disappeared.

Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago yesterday filed Senate Resolution 583, which aims to probe the cause of the country’s medal-dry campaign in the recent Beijing Olympics.
*******************************
For what?
It is very obvious that our athletes are vying against dragon and goliath, referring to Chinese, Americans, and Europeans.
Bone of contention… not that our athletes are too skinny to vie for gold.
But for the sake of argument, there is nothing to probe.
Probing will only result in whining, blaming and finger pointing, the sports of Filipinos.
POC officials and affiliates cannot produce anything.
They are only an organization and officials.
But they are not to blame.
To compete and win is individual.
It is an individual thing and nothing else.
It is not a matter of support by way monetary or moral.
As you can see, Kenyan, Ethiopian runners are bone skin but they won gold.
Their eyes are sunken, their faces are sunken and they have their skeleton body.
They look malnourish and look like in starvation but won gold.
So you can conclude that monetary support is not a factor aside from the fact that these countries are poor as a rat and noted for famine.
The point is….to win gold is an individual pursuit.
If our athletes are dedicated as these Kenyan runners, then we can see the silver lining and later gold on the horizon.
No need of coach, no need of technique, no need of sponsor and most of all no need of money.
Look these African runners run barefoot on unpaved road for miles without even having food to eat and water to drink but they are dedicated to training even with empty stomach.
If I were senator Santiago, I will probe the investigation in the track and field and see for them how to run gasping for breath.
This is to prove that no one is to blame whether officials or athletes.
Training is practice, preparation and discipline and dedication is commitment. These two combined will give tangible results… gold.
We cannot compete in other discipline like basketball where height is the factor; we cannot compete in swimming where our swimmers are like dilis as against tambakol or bariles.
In short, we are short.
School sports programs are limited; parents want their children to excel more in academics and become a nurse than risk in going to sports.
The government should concentrate more on sports program for out of school youths.
These kids should be given a chance to excel for being deprived of going to school.
Senate investigation just like our Philippine athletes in Beijing Olympics will not yiel anything of value for it is a competition of words, mouth and saliva.
As they say they are all Tanso…. Matatanso naman tayo sa imbestigasyon.

“Would an independent Muslim State further divide instead of unite the Philippines?”
To begin with, the Filipino people has never been united since the 1986 People Power uprising.
Like the divided islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, Filipinos are divided as ever on major issues. The people could not even agree on a single agenda and the call for federalism only betray that we cannot truly govern ourselves. In essence, federalism is a sanitized word for dismembering the country into several political fiefdoms.
I am not a Muslim nor do I condone the attack the MILF made against the hapless civilians. However, the call to secede from the Republic was based on historical context which cannot really be ignored plus the fact that they have long been abused by the government.
Unbelievable it is, but a good example is how the government used the negotiating table and the MILF to advance its agenda to perpetuate itself in power. Let us also not forget the US, which, like a vulture waiting to devour the treasures of the south, is using the Muslim people to permanently establish its presence.
In the end, what is there to divide?
