AFTER spending hundreds of millions for the Joseph Estrada case and after he has been proven guilty of plunder, he is going to walk a free man again soon.
As a political scientist and a student of law, I say our justice system is the worst in the world if he is to become a free man despite the seriousness of the crimes committed by that old man.
Our sentiments for him do not matter. Yes, he deserves pity somehow. However, he does not deserve to be a free man at all.
Justice shall be served. Justice shall prevail.

since day 1 it was all politically motivated.
villar sent the impeachment case to the senate even without eatablishing who were the jueteng lords involved.
senate did not allow to open the envelope because of technalities and oppsition then went to the streets and when they open the envelope it was not that explosive anyway.
then, the case in court, where erap was convicted of receiving money from jueteng lords but not even one person was convicted or charge or even named as illegal gambling.
the commision money were dichaves said was his.the government said otherwise, then why not just take it when erap said thats not his money.
now gma needs someone if she is going toe to toe with jdv and fvr.that someone is erap.she needs erap to be neutral at least.
erap did not get convicted in tobacco excise money.kung si singzon ang kumuha ng pera at sinabi ng sandiganbayan na hindi natanggap ni erap ang pera nasaan na yung pera ngayon.kung si singzon ang tumatanggap ng pera sa mga jueteng lord bakit di nya sinaabi kung sino ang mga ito.
nagtatanong lang po.

so, again my two cents worth. It’s tough being retired, I thought I’m finished being involved with Philippine issues, being that I’m now abroad, but now that I have more time to read, and have 5 Philippine newspapers online, and has always loved the Philippines, I want to voice my opinion, even if sometimes it is an exercise in futility….My question:
Why go thru the exercise of litigating, spending beaucoups bucks trying to prove Estrada’s culpability, spending more for his health, care, security, both for travel, detention, and health, even if the purpose is just to confiscate his ill gotten gains and not penalized him for corruption, if that’s what it is. He’s a businessman after all, the gov’t. could very well have negotiated with him to return some of his ill gotten gains (for sure they’re not getting all of them, even after the conviction, anyway), so they didn’t have to go thru all the Sandigan Bayan effort and expense, when they knew they’ll him pardon anyway, and sure he’ll refuse it. He has to generate “guapo” and “macho” points back after all the theatrics, wouldn’t you have done the same? But he can do it better than I can, he’s a good artista….
And it’s disgusting that even in the name of unification, that the gov’t didn’t even wait for him to ask for it, they took the initiative to start it, and they were refused (what a shame!). Isn’t that a slap to all those prosecutors and judges who worked very hard to put together a case and got him convicted? That’s why the Philippines is in dire straits. Government officials has no problem spending tons of tax money for “forma”. Most of the time, even in our legislative bodies, a lot of posturing happens without results. I just wonder why the citizenry tolerate these dramas and let the characters get away with them, but I should stop wondering, they took Marcos’, too, didn’t they?
Sometimes I feel like crying….

You know what…I agree..you are absolutely right…this hoopla of court thing then conviction is just a mockery of our justice system..ika nga para na ngang zarzuela o kaya palabas lang para kunwari they will get to impress people and yet iba pala ang kanilang plano…that in the long run they will give pardon to a convicted plunderer…Eto namang si Erap kunwari eh may pride pa sya na aayaw ayaw pa sya kuno but tatanggapin din pala nya…ang galing ng drama nyo day…Well..sana naman we filipinos should show to the world that we are actually an intelligent race….please lang gamitin natin ang wise judgment this time….

Wake up Filipinos…I think this Erap pardon is REALLY GETTING OVERBOARD OF OUR DEMOCRACY…It only implies that it’s just easy to make such a hasty decision of giving pardon to a plunderer. He stole people’s hard earned money…nakapagtataka, hindi naman ganon kalaki ang sueldo ng Pres. pero milyon milyon ang pera..palasyo ang mga bahay..maraming asawa…maraming anak sa ibat ibang babae…I think the Pres. is making A BIG AND HASTY MISTAKE THAT WILL PULL HER DOWN…it’s not reconciliation.that’s a lame excuse…Hwag mo kaming gawing stupid…Remember, there are a lots of people languishing in jail..some of them probably innocent and yet you let a convicted person free…Oh my gosh….Also, You are making Sandigan Bayan like a fool for coming up with a conviction..Do u think people will still believe in our justice system. MADAME PRES…ARE YOU ASKING FOR EDSA TRES.?…I WAS THERE DURING EDSA DOS THAT PUT YOU TO POWER TO TOPPLE DOWN A CORRUPT PRES.AND NOW HERE YOU ARE GIVING HIM A PARDON…I am now in realization that putting you in power is a BIG MISTAKE…I DON’T THINK YOU DESERVE TO BE PRES. AFTER ALL…SINAYANG MO LANG ANG EDSA DOS…well, my kababayan..Ano ang hatol?I think we need to go back to EDSA… Don’t you think it’s too much..first of all giving cash gifts of hundred of thousand to officials plus a pardon to a plunderer…SOBRA NA YATA ANG PAGGAMIT NYO NG PERA NG KABAN NG PILIPINAS…KAYA ANG UTANG NATIN TRILLION NA…Haay naku..I’m so upset..kaya nga napakaraming gustong pumasok sa pulitika kahit sino na lang..maging ang mga artista….lalo na yung laos at wala ng datung at pelikula…..Marami ring business man/woman na nagsusumiksik sa gov’t esp sa senado or congress para lalong yumaman. pero parati namang absent….becoz of the perks…and pork barrel na napupunta lang sa bulsa….kunwari may project but a “ghost project” o di kaya “substandard project”…Salamat na lang may mang isa isang PANLILIO sa gov’t.
Alam mo swerte nga si Erap na sa resthouse ang detention nya at hindi sa bilibid..dapat ang magnanakaw na katulad nya sa bilibid…Sarap nga ng buhay nya..Ngayon malaya na sya..Sa totoo lang kahit na sabihin pa ni GMA na kukunin nya yung ibang ninakaw nya eh…hindi naman lahat yun..bilyon bilyon pa ang nasa kamay nya..kaya look at his face nakangisi pa sya parang gusto nyang sabihin..Naloko ko na naman kayo…Isa pa, si Jinggoy is still in the govt’ …eh for sure, ang pagnanakaw still continue with his junior…like father like son…and then wait kayo..with his acquittal, all other relatives will be in the gov’t again..of course to steal our hard earned money…Nakakalungkot…
Again…wake up kababayan….masyado na tayong niloloko from Marcos to Erap and now GMA…I hope this will be the last..we need a trusted pres and government official…
