Presidential pardon to Erap a slap to the Filipino people

10/27/07

Posted under Feedback

THE EXECUTIVE clemency or presidential pardon granted by GMA to former president Estrada is the latest among the litany of blatant abuse of power and disrespect to the Filipino people she and her administration has done to our country.

No wonder Filipinos find it hard to get our much deserved respect. If we don’t respect our own law, why would others do? Why did the Americans refuse to turn over Subic rape case convict Smith to Philippine authorities? Why can an American TV program and company openly insult Philippine medical school graduates? [Why can authorities in different countries] arrogantly accuse our OFWs of any conceivable crime, etc.?

Because our own so-called leaders or vultures in disguise are showing to the world how we are supposed to be treated. It’s pathetic how the individual efforts Filipinos are doing to gain respect are shrouded and washed away by the embarrassing and selfish acts of our own leaders. May God show His amazing grace and mercy upon and save the Philippines and give us a true leader. Let’s just trust that in the end divine justice will prevail.

The ERAP Pardon is really a slap in the face of the Filipino people. It is a slap in the face of those who elected him office for his MACHO Image and not for his delicadeza. It’s like saying, you want a non-repentant sinner forgiven? Then that is what you get, you gullible people. Then when the President steps down in 2010, you “good-for-nothing bastards” quarrel against each other up to the point of annihilating each and every one for all I care.

I take extreme offense at all those comments asking that Estrada should not have asked for pardon. To be candid, all this put Erap into jail and matyrdize the guy is disgusting and extremely cruel. Erap has become a barbie doll that they want to use to further their agenda against Aroyo at the expense of Estrada. THESE PEOPLE ARE EUNUCHOID COWARDS who choose to use a fledgling old man to step on just to agrandize their agenda. I cordially invite them to have the balls to step in Jail in Erap’s sake and put their money where their mouths are.

The reality in philippine politics that Jueteng Money is considered Plunder while Public Funds is not a Plunder reason to be morally question imagine all the Anomalies of President GMA that has been involved in million of dollars and yet no one has ever invoked another edsa revolution and has stayed in power where if you really put it this way. President GMA holds all the power in the philippines, she controlled the Senate, the Judiciary and the Congress. so the only way to resolve this problem is wait until 2010. it will save time and money to boot out a lemon choose president.

i think its not a slap in the filipinos face…its more like suhol to the people because of all the controversies happeing.

i think there’s nothing wrong setting him free..he’s been in jail for many years already and obviously whatever happens it will be a guilty verdict. so why spend a lot of money guarding erap.

besides they are planning this for a long time and just waiting for the verdict. we’ve seen it in news before that they are talking to erap.

at least not after releasing erap, the corruption haunting the gma regime has calm down..

    Hi Ramon,
first of all, if you love your country so much and you are so blasting its politics, why you live in the US?
About Erap, would it not be a bigger slap on the people if he would imprisoned for plunder, even it cannot be plunder if no public funds have been involved?
Why don’t you ask why the self confessed plunderer Singson is not even asked to explain where the tax millions he stole have been gone, after it was proved that it could not even have been delivered to Erap as he claimed?? Is this, aside from his going scotfree for his crime, another thank you for helping to oust Erap? Be fair and look at both sides. In addition, one likes it or not, GMAwas well within laws when pardoning Erap, she has this power by constitution.
Regarding the image of OFW’s abroad, most damaging are the so many cases where OFW’s are accused of killing. About the US TV program, why bloggers make a big blabla for it, while direct affected people are just ignoring it and understand what really it is. Besides, it has been done after the big cheating at nurse exams and anybody has the right to check if a Filipino medical aide comes from an involved or not involved school. Evenb in RP, it matters very much from which school an applicant graduated.
