IF we take the Philippines’ political events onto the world stage, it definitely shows that Filipinos are gullible. It seems that they buy into all kinds of lies being peddled, especially by authorities.
Let’s take the “cash gift” as an example. When it was first brought up by Governor Panlilio, nobody wanted to admit that it actually happened. The poor governor looked like he concocted a story to gain media mileage. However, it turned out that many actually received a bagful of money. While nobody was quick to come out and take responsibility for it, now everybody is eager to acknowledge that they are the source. But why only now? Will the people buy these now?
If they do, Filipinos are indeed gullible. If lies are peddled by sidewalk vendors struggling to bring food on the table, it is understandable. But if governors and congressmen, looked upon as trustworthy and transparent, do not tell the truth, what hope do we have as a country? If the things that are happening [took place] in other countries, many of these government officials would have already resigned their post. They value their names and honor more than their positions and the mighty peso.
What else can be done when the heart is already callous? The only thing left to be done is to institute a moral revolution. This should start from the people and not from the present set of elected officials. In the next election, forget the name and the political affiliation. Rather, vote for those who are least in the eyes of men but great in the eyes of God — the honest, the truthful, the ones who are willing to become servants of all, those who treat their office as a position of trust and thus are willing to give it up when accused of irregularities. May God bless the Philippines.

If filipino politicians are believers of heaven and hell. A fraction of them can go to heaven, the rest to hell.We are a country of devil, even satan cannot allow filipino politician to be near him, thats for sure, otherwise he will be ejected by Edsa Revolution. My point is,honesty is such a lonely word here-as the song goes. You have to be corrupt to survive in philippine politics and its agencies.Theres no other way and politicians are dammed proud walking around, with peoples money in thier bottomless pocket.Tell me a single Filipino politician who is not corrupt and I can tell you now,he/she is not Filipino. We have perfected that science recently, compared to other civilazations. We will enjoy it till we get tired.Filipinos are not gullible, were are not yet tired-still active. As the saying goes, buy until supply last.

I assumed that Mr Teck Uy of Canada doesn’t have an ounce of Phil. blood in his vein…I’m just amazed that someone like him would be interested in our politcial turmoil involving cash gifts…He even know Gov. Panlilio and his expos’e which was highly appreciated by a lot of Flipinos, educated or not, rich, average or poor etc .people from all walks of life.
Mr Uy, with your opinion about Filipino people that we are gullible, I beg to disagree…People are just observing..wait and see..remember that there are limitation to everything…In fact,an impeachment case against the Pres. has been filed in the House already…hopefully, that something will happened…People are really tired of corruption..using people’s money just to get lawmakers loyalty…As of Gov. Panlilio, don’t worry a lot people are on yr side and we are very grateful for yr expos’e…We need a gov’t official like you in the gov’t..Honestly, I can’t wait anymore until 2010 for the next election..we’re just giving the gov’t the opportunity to steal more and more and tell more lies…Who would believe anymore on GMA’s talk that she will improve the economy and our lives? nobody feels it..commodities still high..there are lots of people in the quagmire of poverty….And yet would you believe Malacanang Household bills amounts to P2.6B…imagine that…where is the austerity call of the Pres..still, people has to resort to going abroad for greener pasture…sacrificing the family’s togetherness just to send money to support the family…which the gov’t also benefit from theTdollar remittance..the sad part of it, A lot of our kababayans esp the OFW in the Middle East are now languishing in jail or death row on the crime they did not commit or some of them be able to come home but in the coffin..Does the gov’t do anything about it? Or they’re ok coz their pocket is full of cash gifts?…Mr.Teck, we know that all these lies of gov’t officials who claim to be the source like KAMPI, LPP so forth on are all lies…a cover up for the gov’ts corruption..trust me, we’re not idiot as they think we are…Filipinos are watching all over the world ..Protest is on the way..now starting in the U.S and in Hongkong…and others will follow…..whatever excuse they want to say..nobody believe..in fact they don’t know they’re now a laughingstock..Coz, it seems now everybody wants to take responsibility as the source when they should have done that earlier…It’s obvious that there is really a cover up for Pres. so called “gift giving” that apparently been going for the longest time and nobody would ever expose it…Who would if yr pockets is so fat (from people’s hard earned money)…tsk tsk tsk……Whew..
