SHAME on you media, especially ABS-CBN!
You think you’re above the law? You are as arrogant as Trillanes & Co. You should show more respect for the authorities who are only there to protect the people (including you) and uphold the law. It is always a lose-lose situation when the police face the egoistic media.
If all hell broke loose during the Manila Pen standoff and some media men lost their lives, the police will be blamed, but then if the police try to [perform] their duties, the media cries harassment.
You think only GMA should reform? Think again; the media should reform too.

Davide impeachment aborted
11/06/2007 | 12:19 PM
Unlike the impeachment against Gloria Arroyo, Nothing good happen because they’re protected by the corrupted JUDICIAL SYSTEM.
Email this | Email the Editor | Print | Digg this | Add to del.icio.us November 11, 2003: The constitutional crisis brought about by the impeachment complaint against the Chief Justice Hilario Davide, Jr. ended ended when the House of Representatives voted not to transmit to the Senate the articles of impeachment, in deference to an earlier Supreme Court ruling.
Two impeachment complaints were filed against Davide over alleged anomalies in the disbursements and expenditures of the Judiciary Development Fund. The first complaint, filed by former President Joseph Estrada in June 2003, was dismissed by the House Committee on Justice on October 22, 2003. A group of congressmen filed a second impeachment complaint the following day (October 23), and this complaint was eventually endorsed by at least 1/3 of the House members, mostly from the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
The case was taken to the Supreme Court, which ruled that the second complaint was unconstitutional (the Constitution states that no impeachment proceedings shall be initiated against the same official more than once within a period of one year

BusinessWorld: Satisfaction with Arroyo falls further - SWS
12/18/2007 | 12:10 AM
Ok. Heres another survey against the FAKE PRESIDENT OF CEBU. You’ve the judges! Kong ako sa kanya magtago na ako. But of course she has no shame.

PUBLIC SATISFACTION with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has fallen further in the fourth quarter, with her net rating now at -16 from -11 previously, a new survey from the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.
This was despite another SWS finding that more than half of Filipinos believe Mrs. Arroyo’s grant of a pardon to convicted former President Joseph E. Estrada was “good for the country.”
A Palace spokesman said the survey results could be viewed as a challenge for the administration to do better, but would not distract the President from continuing to implement programs that will ultimately lead to benefits for the public.
A political analyst, however, said positive government programs do not automatically mean positive approval ratings as long as the Arroyo administration remains dogged by issues and controversies.
The results of the November 30 to December 3 nationwide survey, made exclusive to BusinessWorld, had 32% of respondents satisfied and 48% dissatisfied with Mrs. Arroyo’s performance, for the net rating (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied) of -16.
The President’s net ratings were close to neutral in the first and second quarters (-4 and -3, respectively) before plunging to -11 in the third quarter.
The question posed to 1,200 adults nationwide was “Please tell me how satisfied or dissatisfied you are in the performance of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as President of the Philippines. Are you very satisfied, somewhat satisfied, undecided if satisfied ordissatisfied, somewhat dissatisfied, very dissatisfied?”
The independent survey research institution said loss of support in Mindanao and the Visayas, and worsening dissatisfaction in Metro Manila, resulted in the fourth-quarter drop.
In Mindanao, Mrs. Arroyo’s net ratings plunged to -20 (30% satisfied, 49% dissatisfied) from -1 (38% satisfied/dissatisfied, rounded) just a quarter ago. In the Visayas, it turned negative, at -9 (35% satisfied, 44% dissatisfied), from the neutral +1 (40% satisfied, 38% dissatisfied, rounded) in the third quarter.
In Metro Manila, it was -34 (25% satisfied, 59% dissatisfied), down from September’s -24 (28% satisfied, 52% dissatisfied).
She gained somewhat in the Balance of Luzon, where her net rating was -12 (34% satisfied, 45% dissatisfied) from -18 (32% satisfied, 50% dissatisfied) previously.
Rural net satisfaction, however, fell to -8 from -3, while in urban areas it dropped to -23 from -18.
The margin of error, the SWS said, was plus or minus 3% for the national average, and plus or minus 6% for area results.
By classes, net satisfaction with the President turned negative among the ABC sector, at a net -16 (35% satisfied, 51% dissatisfied), from +8 (46% satisfied, 38% dissatisfied) in the previous quarter.
It remained negative among the class D or masa, at -13 (33% satisfied, 46% dissatisfied) from -12 (34% satisfied, 46% dissatisfied) previously.
Satisfaction went down among the class E, to -25 (26% satisfied, 51% dissatisfied), compared to -13 (33% satisfied, 46% dissatisfied) in September.
The SWS also asked the respondents how they agreed with the statement “The grant of pardon by President Arroyo to former President Joseph Estrada in his plunder case was good for the country: strongly agree, somewhat agree, undecided, somewhat disagree, strongly disagree.”
A majority of 54% agreed, compared to the 23% who disagreed for a net agreement of +32. The rest of the respondents (22%) were undecided.
“However, the President did not gain from the pardon because those who agreed with it were even more dissatisfied with her than those who disagreed with it,” the SWS said.
It said the President’s net satisfaction rating was -12 among those opposed to the pardon, but was an even lower -22 among those supportive of it.
In October, Malacañang announced that Mrs. Arroyo was granting Mr. Estrada a full pardon, just weeks after he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Sandiganbayan on graft and corruption charges.
Support for the Estrada pardon was prevalent in all areas, with net agreement highest at +45 in Metro Manila, compared to +38 in Mindanao, +32 in the Balance of Luzon, and +15 in the Visayas.
It was much stronger in class E, at +35, and in class D, +33, compared to class ABC’s +15.
Not a distraction
Asked to comment, deputy Presidential spokesman Lorelei C. Fajardo said the survey would not distract the President from her focus on improving governance and promoting economic development.
“It (the survey) is a challenge for us to do better but we must focus on the programs of the government with or without these surveys. We hope the economic gains will translate to benefits for the public,” she said in a phone interview.
Ms. Fajardo said the perception may have been shaped by the bad news in the media.
“The good things being done by the government are not being communicated properly. Bad news tends to overtake the good news so we must work double time to spread the good news to the people,” she said.
But Amado M. Mendoza, Jr., a political analyst from the University of the Philippines, said that while people may feel the positive effects of government programs, these would not necessarily translate to public approval due to continuing controversies.
“People may recognize [the programs] but these may not win for her approval because of basic issues that do not have closure until now.
“For example, the legitimacy issue is not yet finished. This is further worsened by corruption scandals and other issues like extrajudicial killings,” he said.
Ms. Fajardo, meanwhile, also clarified that the President did not pardon Mr. Estrada to gain the support of his followers.
“No, it (the pardon) was not for popularity but because of a policy and for humanitarian reasons. This will not bother her (Mrs. Arroyo) because she knows she did the right thing,” the Palace spokesman said.
But Mr. Mendoza said it would have been better if the Arroyo administration also prosecuted incumbent officials guilty of corruption and not just Mr. Estrada.
“There would be public satisfaction if the government punishes everybody engaged in corruption. It would be better if administration officials are also punished. The people who approve of the pardon know that there are others who committed corruption aside from Mr. Estrada,” he said.
“There is dissatisfaction because they can see individuals who have been accused of corruption but remain free. People may think that Estrada was convicted because he is no longer the one in power. They see a sense of injustice here.” ArticlesMedia Links
