THE AWARENESS and popularity of Canadian-based Fr. Fernando Suarez has been soaring in recent weeks as increasingly more Filipino faithful and Christians worldwide attend and bear witness to his healing ministry at which the disabled walk, the visually-impaired see, the deaf hear and the mute speak. There are patients with cancer and other diseases who are cured. Yet, despite a cult following that seems to rival local celebrities, Father Suarez remains admirably humble, insisting that “I am not a healer” amid persistent labels as the “healing priest” or “miracle priest.” Raising his voice somewhat to emphasize the point and ensure that all can hear clearly, “it is not me who heals, but our Lord Jesus Christ, and He uses me merely as an instrument for His grace.” He draws an analogy to Christ’s healing power with “water passing through one’s hands.”

During a healing mass held recently at SM Megamall’s Trade Hall, Father Suarez repeatedly said in his homily, “I feel so embarrassed whenever people reach out to touch my robes,” again emphasizing it is God’s omnipotence that heals both the body and spirit. But despite this self-effacing attitude, he urged all the faithful present “not to feel embarrassed in praying for compassion and healing” for all afflictions — physical or spiritual — for nothing is impossible with God. He explains that the miracles people see or personally experience are demonstrations of God’s love that serve to help strengthen the people’s faith. If the source of all evil in this world is pride, manifested in being self-centered and an egoistic “ownership” of one’s accomplishments, he says the source of all good must lie in being “Christ-centered” and complete abandonment and surrender to God. “If we rely on Jesus, we will not be disappointed based on His promise that He will not fail us if we trust in Him.” However, while he urged all brethren to implore good health and a fullness of life with total confidence as children of God, he also admonished that God wants “holistic healing,” and not just “partial healing,” including the healing of one’s heart and conversion of one’s soul. He went on to pray for the moral illnesses and social injustices that bedevil the country, specifically the graft and corruption plaguing government and the wrenching poverty oppressing millions; for the deepest divisions to be healed and discrimination of all forms banished. In offering a reason for why God does not seem to answer all our supplications, he said perhaps “sometimes, what we ask for may not be good for us.”

In an interview prior to the mass, this writer asked Father Suarez if he can share what God tells him in his personal conversations during private moments of prayer, to which he replied, “God says He loves me, and He is happy with what I do in sharing the gift of healing with all the faithful.” This writer later learned that Father Suarez interacts, touches and prays over each and every person in all of his healing services — regardless of how long it takes or how exhausting it can get.

Before an audience consisting of the sick and the curious, the faithful and the skeptics, captured on digital cameras and video recorders, shown live on closed-circuit TV and later on nationwide TV, Father Suarez performed his individualized healing ministry on thousands, moving constantly and laying his hands on the old and the young, many of whom rose from wheelchairs and spontaneously shared poignant stories, testifying to God’s goodness through Father Suarez.

When this writer asked Father Suarez what he would like to tell the millions of Filipinos who may have desperately wished to attend his healing sessions, but cannot because they are preoccupied with earning a living or do not possess the means, he says reassuringly, “God heals in different ways, so we must all believe in his goodness. While it is God who heals, it is faith that saves.” Fittingly, Father Suarez reminds us of the gospel passages when Jesus brings back to life a grief-stricken father’s only daughter, and a woman suffering from years of debilitating illness touches the hem of His cloak, in which He says “Take courage… your faith has made you well.”

    Rich Man,Poor Man
    Thursday,February 21.St.Peter Damian

    Jeremiah 17:5-10 / Psalm 1;1-4,6 / Luke 16:19-31

There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day.Luke 16:19

‘It is my prayer and belief that it will be answered,…healing!!!,oh…and oh how nice to surrender all our concern with peaceful heart to God.’ But with our alert minds and heart ready to act and in love.

so here again, one from my daily reflection booklet,…Living Faith.

Lumabas si San Pedro and welcomed the rich man and took him into heaven, apparently not seeing the poor peasant. As soon as the gates shut, all kinds of rejoicing began inside. The poor man could hear the music, loud singing and great rejoicing inside heaven.

After a while all was quiet, and Saint Peter came out and ushered in the poor man.But the poor peasant got no grand reception. So he asked St.Peter why the same partiality shown to the rich and powerful on earth was also apparently shown in heaven.Putting his arms around the poor man,St.Peter said:”You are just as dear to us as anyone else, and your heart will be filled with satisfaction. But,you see, poor people like yourself come to heaven every hour.A rich man like that one…well, they do not come more than once every hundred years!”

    from Fr.Edward Hayes-Pray All Ways

Many bishops will really question the motive of this man because they are worried they may lose followings, income.and credibility. I guess our bishops should focus their attention to other kinds of religious denomination since the Catholic hierarchy is fast eroding. More failthful have become unbelievers and switch to other sect. The church has become less responsive to the members. Their activities are now more political in character than what they are supposed to do. In the Middle East, thousands of pinoys quit their religiou an embrace a strange belief for convenience sake. The church is not doing something to stop this grand harvest by other religions. The harvest is supposed to be plenty. Yet our own failthful are being harvested by other religious sects.

By the way, what is the church doing on the issue of family planning? If rythym method is the only acceptable means, then pursue it with vigor and make it a priority program. Without controling the growth of population, our country risks been taken over in the near future by a new of generation of prostitutes, squatters, holduppers, beggars and all kinds of social misfits as a result of extreme lack of proper education.

I’m just worried of my future grand children who will be living under this kind of environment.

May katagalan talaga,at maraming karanasan at sa akin’y dumating ang isang salitang ‘If today you hear God’s word, harden not your heart.’ They can’t change a human heart. They can’t heal a wounded soul. They can’t turn hatred into love. They can’t bring about repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation, peace.’

background of fr suarez with diocese of winnipeg (been there, boring and lonely)

Going to the seminary was not an immediate option. Suarez went to Manila and graduated with a chemical engineering degree at Adamson University which is run by the Vincentian Fathers.

    Mary appears

After college, Suarez entered the Franciscan Order (Conventuals). “After one-and-a-half years, I left. Then I joined the SVD (Society of the Divine Word) but I was asked to leave after six months.”

It was there, at the SVD Christ the King Seminary that, Suarez says, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to him. “She told me that I would go to a far away place which was cold and windy, and there proclaim the word of God.”

Suarez was in his late 20s when he met a French-Canadian student and tourist named Mark Morin who invited him to Canada and even paid for his fare. They could have been partners in a business venture but Suarez wanted to pursue the priesthood. That was 1996.

He again tried the Diocese of Winnipeg to study as a diocesan priest but again, it did not work out and he was made to leave.

“I was an expensive venture, they said,” he says, chuckling. “They’d have to spend four-and-a-half years on me.” They preferred already ordained Filipino diocesan priests who were seeking a life abroad.

    STATEMENT OF CLARIFICATION
REGARDING THE HEALING MINISTRY OF FR. FERNANDO SUAREZ
Companions of the Cross – February 6, 2008
We have received several questions about the healing ministry of Fr. Fernando Suarez, CC.
Several news agencies have recently run articles about his ministry. In order to address the
questions and concerns that have been raised, we would like to make the following clarifications:
    1) Fr. Fernando Suarez is a member of the Companions of the Cross. He is a priest in good
standing with priestly faculties from the Archdiocese of Ottawa. He has been assigned
by the Companions of the Cross to work for Mary, Mother of the Poor, a charitable
organization based in the Philippines which is dedicated to serving the poor. Fr.
Fernando often preaches missions and celebrates Masses followed by prayers for
    healing.
    2) The Companions of the Cross have a deep love and respect for the authority of the
Catholic Church. We endeavor to minister in complete obedience to the Church’s
teaching and in union with the local bishops in all matters. As a community, “we are
determined to think with the Church and to be loyal to the Magisterium” (Constitutions
and Rules of the Companions of the Cross, C25).
    3) Recently two bishops have noted that Masses with prayers for healing were conducted
in their dioceses without their approval. We deeply regret this. It is always our intention
to act with the blessing and explicit approval of the local Bishop. In these cases, there
was an unfortunate miscommunication. It was understood that the local organizers of
these events had already secured the necessary permission. Unfortunately, this was not
the case. Letters of apology have been sent to both bishops.
To insure that this never happens again, a policy has been established whereby the local
Bishop’s written permission must be received by Mary, Mother of the Poor prior to the
confirmation and publication of any future events. This policy, already in effect in
North America, takes effect immediately in the Philippines and elsewhere.
    4) Fr. Fernando Suarez, and all priests of the Companions of the Cross, are careful to
comply with the Church’s Instruction on Prayers for Healing issued by the
Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 2000.
In keeping with this instruction, we make every attempt to ensure that “anything
resembling hysteria, artificiality, theatricality or sensationalism” does not take place (cf.
Instruction on Prayers for Healing, Disciplinary Norms, art 5, sec 3).
    5) In accord with the teaching of the Church, we believe that “[p]rayer for the restoration
of health is… part of the Church’s experience in every age, including our own.”
(Instruction on Prayers for Healing, Introduction). We delight that the Lord continues
to bring consolation to the sick and suffering through prayers for healing. However, we
leave it entirely to the competent authorities to confirm or deny claims of miraculous
healing. It is the local Bishop, in consultation with medical experts, who makes such a
    determination.
    6) Mary, Mother of the Poor often distributes religious articles, such as rosaries handmade
by the poor, at their events. This is a concrete manner through which the poor
contribute to the work of the apostolate. Donations are accepted for these articles with
the permission of local pastors and event organizers.
While we encourage true devotion to our Lady, especially through the prayer of the
rosary, we caution the faithful against any superstitious claims made about these or any
religious articles. When blessed by the Church, God can indeed use such articles as an
instrument of healing in our lives, but these graces come solely from Christ through the
blessing of the Church and our faith in the Lord.
We apologize for any misunderstandings and hope that this explanation provides clarity to those
with concerns. It is our fervent desire to serve the good of the Church and regret anything that
would bring disunity or confusion to God’s people. Above all we desire to facilitate a deeper
knowledge and love of the Lord in the fullness of truth taught by His Holy Catholic Church.

Magkaiba ang Faith Healing at healing na nanggaling sa Diyos; actually if you a true beleiving Christian the Bible is the revealed will of God. In Isaiah53:5/1Peter2:24 God said, by His stripes we are healed, it means he gives the authority to pray for healing. in James 5:14-15 pray for the sick & afflicted and they shall recover. Ngunit ang tunay na beleiver ay priority niya ay mag-hayag ng Gospel of God not only healing. So it is not the will of God ang kay Fr. Suarez that’s Jesus said in Mat7:21-23who can enter the K of God who do the will of the Father, not everyone that said to me,LordLord. God bless!

Lighten up folks. Not to douse gasoline on an ember, but I wonder why even the Bishops are worried about Fr. Fernando Suarez. If there is nothing doubtful about Fr. Suarez why then it is that the Bishops in their Catholic wisdom are not too keen about this healing business. Is it envy or something else?

Here is the Bishops reaction to Fr. Suarez healing practices:

“Malolos, Bulacan Bishop Jose Oliveros announced the filing of a complaint with the Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith against Fr. Suarez for healing at the Marilao Divine Mercy Shrine without permission.[13] Oliveros spoke at a press conference after the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Plenary Assembly, and stated that he would also complain to Suarez’s Companions of the Cross superiors.[14] Oliveros further accused Suarez of violating paragraph 4 of Section 2, “Instruction on Healing Activities of the Doctrine of Faith”, signed by Pope Benedict XVI.[15]”

Instead of encouraging the healing priest to continue his ministry, why are the Bishops filing a complain against this priest? There must be something that we do not know for sure.

Could you blame me for voicing my doubt?
I will stand corrected if I am wrong.

Is Father Suarez soliticing payment for his healing? Is he promoting his “gift” to gain wealth, power? He does not seem to be harming people, so why are we so hard on him.
I myself know someone who was cured from praying with Fr Suarez. This person is not even a devout Christian, was gravely ill with doctors’ tests to prove it (in black and white). He said that for months he was sick and now he’s well- and he can’t explain it. All he knows is that he prayed with Fr. Suarez as a last ditch effort, thinking “it couldn’t hurt”.
My point- Until we experience a “miracle” ourselves, we’ve got no cause to judge that other people’s experiences are invalid and impossible.

    ‘Go And Tell Others’
    Monday,February 4

.Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.Mark 5:19

    so eto po…

Freed from his demons, this grateful man wants to go along with Jesus.(parang yung maraming gustong sumama sa mga healing Mass at services, matapos ma-heal from Jesus,sa pamamagitan ni Fr.Fernando so siguro at sa ibang mga services o sa mga communities, pero siguro yun nga pamilya muna, lalo’t me mga dapat pang-gawin para sa pamilya dahil kailangan talaga, yan ang isang hadlang sa mga laiko, pamilya, dapat lamang na ang pamilya e handa rin,at magastos po sumama sa mga misyon,e kkb talaga yan, kaya hindi rin ako makasama lalo na’t sa ibang mga bansa at lugar na,ha,ha,at mahirap pong maging taga-salo o catcher-lalo na’t libo-libo na,alam ng mga tumutulong yan at alam ng mga Pari yan,so alam syempre Ng Panginoong Jesus) But Jesus sends him back to his family in what is really an amazing vocation story.

Many of us have experienced being “freed”- o healed din yan di po baga? - by God- perhaps from anxiety, from fear, from hatred, from timidity, from isolation.(pag nasa o OFW ka e lagi yan,at lalo na’t napaka-lamig o napaka-init,galing na rin ako sa Saudi sand storm naman,at wala kang mapuntahan o magagawa) To express our gratitude,we want to walk more closely with God.So we try to discern what that may mean for us. We may decide that it’s just something between God and us,but then God says,”No,I want you to go and tell others,”

I don’t know about you,but evangelizing comes very hard to me. I’m tempted to say, “Dear God anything but that!” But Jesus gives the man he healed a gentle push: “Tell your family. Tell the people you love what God has done for you.” (sa aking karanasan e ganito talaga ang nangyari, and it takes time talaga naman,nag-ME,formation,nagkasakit,so tyempo o blessing talaga,so tuloy ang pagdalo g Praying meetings, teachings, ministry work,at na train to be a sharer,sa LSS,sacristan sa mga healing Mass,sa other activities ng community, intercessor o sa service,at katulong sa mga fund raising drives,at mga outreaches/mission.At yun nga pala,’you are telling others already what the Lord in his pity has done for me’, (parang madali ko na lang sabihin, sanay na po ah!,tulad din ng mga lagi ng kasama sa mga healing services, pero alam namin naman na parang kayo si Nathanael, nakatingin at nagmamasid di,kita kayo,ha,ha)
    so,here’s the author’s prayer…maki-dasal na rin po tayo,…ng taimtim.
“Lord, help us believe that you will give us the right words!”

I believe that God works through His servants and Handmaids so that we may give glory to Him — just like in the time of Jesus; they were amazed of His power to heal and gave glory to God.

A lot of Faith Healers had come and gone in my time, and none of them were for real. There were also those Psychic Healers who operate on unsuspecting people without the use of a scalpel of knife. Turn out they were all bogus.

I have not witness any healing session of Father Suarez, nor have I attended any Healing Mass. For all I know, He must have been ordained by the Almighty to do the work for the Sick and the Poor.

At this stage however, and with all the hoopla surrounding Fr. Suarez mission, and with due respect to Fr. Suarez, I am still a “doubting Thomas.” It does not mean that I do not believe. I am just in doubt, as I have seen so many “False Healers” in the past.

Archbishop Cruz and Bishop Jose Oliveros have allowed the devil to get into their hearts because of pride. Wasn’t that how Lucifer fell? They are envious that a mere priest is getting more popularity, press and attention than they do as bishops. Did it ever occur to them that just because they became bishops they are not automatically holy, just like congressmen and judges are not automatically honorable. Are they envious that God has not given them the gift of healing. Or maybe they just want a share of the collections and donations Fr Suarez gets.

My sister-in-law’s baby had a very slow and irregular heart rate. The doctors in Canada said her baby had to have a pacemaker installed as soon as she was born since she had a heart rate of 60 beats per minute when babies should have 100 bpm. Fr Suarez blessed her when she was 6 months pregnant before she left for Canada and told her she would be fine and her baby would be fine. My niece is now 8 months and is doing well without a pacemaker. The doctors in Canada could not believe their eyes.

I have yet to see Archbishop Cruz and Bishop Oliveros perform a miracle. Despite all their prayers and shouts, their prayer for GMA to resign is not being heard. She is even getting more powerful. God does not answer prayers of an evil heart. Why don’t they become more Christ like and instead pray for a change of GMA’s heart. God put her there. Didn’t the Good (yes he was really good!) Cardinal Sin say vox populi, vox Dei? Did Jesus tell Pilate or Herod to resign their positions? Now Cruz and Oliveros want to play the role of Caiphas and the Chief Priests to crucify Fr Suarez. I only pray that God touch their hearts so that they can swallow their pride and Godless communist ideologies and truly have love in their hearts so they can be a blessing to other people’s lives.

What i can say is why you people always need proof for a blessed man like Fr. Suarez who heals people not only on their humanly suffering but also on their spiritual being too.
You should be thankful that the Father GOD ALMIGHTY and his Son Jesus Christ send this man as he had preached …..”He explains that the miracles people see or personally experience are demonstrations of God’s love that serve to help strengthen the people’s faith. If the source of all evil in this world is pride, manifested in being self-centered and an egoistic “ownership” of one’s accomplishments, he says the source of all good must lie in being “Christ-centered” and complete abandonment and surrender to God. “If we rely on Jesus, we will not be disappointed based on His promise that He will not fail us if we trust in Him.”…… ” I hope this will send a strong message to the people who still doesn’t believe Fr. Suarez.

And one more thing, To those bishops and or arcbishops, with all due respect…..Fr. Suarez need not any permission from anybody here on earth to do healing mass as his authorisation comes only from the will of the Father in heaven.

    God Bless Us All…

I congratulate Fr. Suarez for bringing his ministry to the Phil. Its about time that a priest like Fr. Suarez serves true to his devotion and love for God. He will be a good example to other priests and bishops who have become actively involved in politics instead of drawing and leading their flock faithfully to God. His good intention to reach out for the poor and heal the sick is God given. Therefore for his ministry and for his project to bring to fruition he will need funds just like anybody to survive. Its just but proper for Fr Suarez to sell rosaries and to sell them is not money making business, as one bishop said. It could also help us catholics to pray the rosary to strengthen our faith. For when we are sick, depressed, frustrated who do we turn to but God. The center of the oratory of the Blessed Virgin consists of many. Isn’t this enough to convince the few. I have. To Bishop Cruz of Pangasinan Pls welcome Fr. Suarez and forget about protocol if he wishes to come back and heal the sick, let there be enough of your critics. I get sick of reading your comments that are not Godly.

i think the best effect of fr.suarez’ healing is that it brings back many people to taking part in the eucharist. i think if not only for the healing session the nominal catholics wouldn’t even hear mass during sundays. praise God the healing power of the Lord runs through a Catholic priest. Let’s bring back the tradition of regularly taking part in the mass.

    Lino Rosales Says:

Hey, c’mon people. Let us use our common sense. Do you think 30,000 people would flock to his session if they smell they are being duped. You can gauge the truthfulness of Fr Suarez’ mission by its fruits. You see, people arrived there with so much faith. If they don’t have that faith, would they go there? Of course, his mission has this love offering or fund raising but surely it would go to his foundation which is looking after the poorest of the poor; and that for Montemaria which needs real financial fundings. Simply read Fr Suarez life history and you would know his mission is blessed by our God. By the time that he was sure of himself that he needs to exercise his gift of healing, he did so and wants to heal almost everyone, as much as he can do. Even up to the point of making his healing available to the internet and television.

    Flordeliz Says:

    Hi Mr. Arnel Mercado,

I am one of millions of followed Fr. Suarez here in the Phils. in any way I can. We were there also in Montemaria during the 3-day healing vigil. I believe the healing miracles happened through him and I can also attest to that. Anyway, from where are you in Canda sir? My former boss lives in Vancouver maybe around more than 10 years now and she said “kilalang kilala si Fr. Suarez dito sa Canada.. another cousin in Toronto and a friend in Ontario. Anyway, Phils. is just a small piece of cake compared to Canada. God bless everyone!

  23. 22
    Valdemar Says:

Whether we believe religion or not, that it must be elsewhere and not in the government, healing of this kind must be recognized by the government and proclaimed as the Step ! for the sick before seeing the doctor if there is time yet, of course. This will supplement the cheap medicine bill. If this healing stuill cost money, its only donation just like the donations required of the health center doctors anywhere in the country.

And for Mr./Ms. Whatever, I take it as a compliment that you have labeled all of us who believe to be “simple-minded people” because our Lord said, unless we become like the little children, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.

Come to your church, every priest has the authority to lay hands and to annoint the sick by virtue of their ordination, not jus fr. suarez. don’t be too fanatical, or you will be misled. Don’t make fr. suarez an instant celebrity. He is not Jesus . He too is a sinner . What is wrong with us filipinos is that we are over fanatical , that we tend to overlook the truth. Ron Says:

That must be a super priest since even Jesus was not reported to have healed thousands, if ever he did.
There is (I hope it is still valid) a long standing award, as far as I remember 50.000 British Pounds, for anyone who shows healing somebody under the watch of scientists and camera footage. The patient, chosen by the scientists and unknon to the healer, must have a real medical history since some “healings have been just a cheat. There is no problem to play a deaf or lame and then jump up for being “healed”.
(It’s a bit like the ads of laundry powder companies that throw dirty cloths into a washing machine and then take out snow whitw cloths already ironed.)
It was never heard that any healer agreed to challenge that money.
Of course, there are some healings, esp. if the illness has mental reasons which even could one make lame after a psychological trauma. There is often a psychiatrist more helpful than medicines. Probably that is one reason why most healers refuse patients with visible problems so that the healing would immediately be seen. All the “operations” where a healer transforms a cancer into some rusty screws or a bundle of cotton are plain nonsense. A british variete “magician” showed already many years ago at TV such operation, even with plenty “blood” out of a simple chemical reaction of water and a colorless chemical at his fingers and the cotton.

  35. 10
    Ric Says:

If that priest healed thousand by laying his hands on them, why he does not have a big hospital where he can go around and heal in minutes, no doctors needed? It could be very cheap.

  36. 9
    Kurt Says:

I do not know about this Fr. Suarez and his healings, no matter he says it was him or the Lord.
But I know personally about the former famous healers in Baguio. We have been a group from Europe visiting the Philippines 1978, when still very few westrn foreigners came in.
We got an appointment to the super healer for next morning but when we went to the house, they realized that we all are photographers and came with cameras. We saw the curtain at the window moving while we have been told that the healer has been urgently called to come to Manila so we could not meet a healing session. Aftrnoon, we got informed by people that he still is at home. It was alo reported that he, being sick, went to a hospital under a fake name, not able to heal himself or trusting another healer.
His business was also connected to a German nurse who organised group flights to Baguio. Mostly people who have been told at home that they could not be healed anymore, plenty of them with cancer.
A widespread German Magazine managed to go with one group of cancer patients and let them be checked and making x-ray copies for later to compare the result.
It has been very simply. Near all of the patients have been “healed” by removing the cancerous body parts. So, they have been happy even the charge for the flight was very high. Back to Europe, the healed patients have been checked by x-ray and everyone still had his cancer. The magazine reported later that just one year after, near all “healed” have been at the cemetery already.
The nurse remained in the Philippines when a German court sentenced her to five years jail for cheating.
But still, there have been people who claimed to feel better after treatment. With the problem, that often more treatments have been needed as long as they had money. So, I would not so easy trust somebody who heals, the more as not one of them ever agreed to do it in front of medical experts and video cameras. If Fr. Suarez really healed, let the patients be happy, I still trust more my University Hospital in Switzerland.

I wish other people have seen something like that and i haven’t or may i just say that may the Lord forgive me for this unbelieving heart.

    Philip S. Chua, MD Says:

    A One-Dollar Moral Crusade Against
    Graft and Corruption

Philip S. Chua, MD, FACS, FPCS*
    Chairman, Filipino United Network (USA)

How would you like to launch a historical fight against graft and corruption in the Philippines and “buy” back morality in our government — all for just One Dollar?
You and I have always abhorred the corruption among our government officials in the Philippines, from top to bottom, and deplored the sad state of our country, where more than 70% of our people wallow in massive poverty. While the issue is a complex one, the most obvious etiology of this shameful malady is the overwhelming graft and corruption among our amoral and decadent government leaders.

Would you be willing to invest a dollar — yes, one single US dollar — in the fight against graft and corruption in the Philippines?
Our inspiration in this battle is a man of God, the Reverend Father “Among Ed” Panlilio, the newly elected “Miracle” Governor of Pampanga, a man of dignity and integrity.
What happened in that province is amazingly unbelievable. A humble priest, without political experience, without a bank account, without a political machinery, beating two “unbeatable” seasoned, well-funded, and powerful political giants. “Impossible,” said the political gurus when “Among Ed” first started his crusade. But the Greater Power above obviously had a grander plan for “Among Ed,” and proved the pundits wrong. Suddenly, there was hope for the Philippines.

Armed with his unblemished character, moral ascendancy, love of country, and a strong commitment to honesty and transparency in government, “Among Ed” handily won the election, in spite of widespread vote-buying and rampant cheating. It was evident that a visionary leader with integrity can truly inspire and bring out the best in the Filipino.
The billions of “missing” revenues from the Lahar collection in the past, which Governor Panlilio has exposed since he assumed office June 30, 2007, is only the tip of the iceberg of the invasive cancer of graft and corruption afflicting every level of government in the entire country.

Unfortunately, an honest man makes some people uncomfortable, so there is now a move to eliminate “Among Ed, or oust him thru a Recall, Recount, or, as rumored (hopefully not true), by “Requiem.”
One can easily imagine what a man of God, of honesty and decency, of principle and genuine love of country, can do when elected President of the Philippines. A dream, yes. A tall order, definitely. An impossible task? No, not with the Divine Providence, with YOU, and people power on his side!
Governor Panlilio has adopted Gawad Kalinga as the pillar of his vision for Pampanga and the nation. His crusade is gaining speed and momentum, and like Tony Meloto’s GK, it will soon be unstoppable. Two giant national religious groups, and many other segments of society, are now supporting “Among Ed.” Filipinos around the world are rejoicing and rallying behind him. And we want you to be a part of this historical transformation.
Come and fly high with Governor Panlilio in this moral crusade, to get rid of gutter politicians and immoral officials. Our country and our neglected poor need heroes like you in our battle for morality in government, for justice and dignity for our people. This is, indeed, a revolution. Not a revolution of arms where blood will be shed, but a revolution of ideals and of principle, where dreams and vision, sweat and tears shall bathe the nation clean.
All this crusade needs is your personal commitment and moral support, an investment for the future of the Philippines. Let’s not miss this opportunity. Let’s use our power to help change our country for the better. The Reverend “Among Ed” Panlilio is heaven-sent and is the hope for our ailing nation.
The Filipino United Network Drive (FUND) for HOPE is a commitment of overseas Filipinos to rally behind the crusade against graft and corruption in the Philippines. We invite you to be a patriot and join us in this historical revolution.

They will be used to purchase media time and space (local and national newspaper, radio, TV), for printing of flyers, posters, newsletters, brochures, etc. needed in the crusade against graft and corruption, and in fighting the Recall plotted against Governor Panlilio by his political opponents. The Filipino United Network (FUN) is also donating part of the fund for the purchase of computers for public high schools, with programs to educate the students about good citizenship, honesty and transparency in governance, vigilance, voting obligations, self-reliance, industry, and other proactive and progressive disciplines.
Join this revolution, help our country and our people, and leave a proud and lasting legacy for our children and the future generations to cherish with honor and dignity.

Mabuhay. Your humility is inspiring. Remember that even saints were afflicted with their own illnesses — I think it’s because the pain and suffering can also be turned into prayer — as what Fr. Suarez and Bernie Lopez preach. Let me suggest that you pray to God the Holy Spirit — the perfect love that flows between the Father and the Son — as faith is one of the 7 gifts. “Ask and you shall receive”.
