WE commend Mr. Jun Lozada for his courage in coming out with what he knew about the anomalous ZTE NBN transactions.
Abalos’ continued insistence of his innocence is a pathetic display of arrogance and lack of integrity among our politicians and public officials. The dots can now be connected with regards to the Hello, Garci controversy! Mr. Abalos clearly had a hand in rigging the 2004 elections in favor of Gloria Arroyo and he was collecting his due from the First Family through the $130M “commission” from the NBN [national broadband network] deal!
Garci and Esperon were the henchmen in the widespread manipulation in Mindanao while Abalos was the one controlling the entire operation to rig the results and hand the victory to GMA on a silver platter! It really sucks from the very start, entrusting the Comelec to Abalos was like hiring a thief to guard a bank! And the biggest thief among them is still squatting in Malacañang! Disgusting!

My only wish for our plagued Nation is to rise again and remove the very source of this disease in Malacañang!

now you can check the background of corrupt abalos when he became a mayor of mandaluyong he was known for mr. commissioner in every infra projects and his formet budget officer do the mathematics, his stint in MMDA also of dubious and anomalous garbage contract deals and now ZTE, where will he spend those millions he stole? even as a Comelec chairman he also known for “hokus pocus” to his allies in the national and local elections.
God save the philippines for having these kind of people and having a arroyo family afp and pnp who always protect those who claim their are our countrys saviour but nevertheless the most corrupt leaders

What can I say, the clowns are back in town again! And they’re painting it red! Mr. Lozada may be a worthy witness to the shady deal but this investigation is a complete mess! Govt side defending their anomalies and the senators and oppositions et al ( Black & White group, ABS-CBN broadcasting, minority congressmen and NPA-inspired partylist group) are cashing in on the newfound opportunity. The one whose losing in this race to power and fortune is Mr. Lozada himself as these wacky groups are trampling on him to gain the limelight. How can a witness be at peace when the Govt is gagging him and the senators are trying to arrest him? Maybe Lozada is safer at the hands of the lesser evil, which side? I cannot categorize the lesser ones.

Well, You can’t blame then for what they’re doing. After all they didn’t kick the duly elected President Joseph Estrada, For nothing! As we all can see it the only reason they kick Erap, So that they’re the one can rob the government coffer. Pero hindi kayo naniniwala sa akin. I’m glad the truth has finally come out.

“The Vatican on Tuesday issued a new version of a Roman Catholic prayer that had long offended Jews, but some said the changes don’t go far enough.
Jewish groups said they interpreted the new version of the prayer for Jews as requiring members of their faith — and all of humanity — to convert to Christianity in order to find salvation.”
I personally would be grateful to anyone praying for me for any reason.

What Mr. Lozada has done is nothing short of being heroic. A minor government official with no wealth or political power to claim with no other apparent motive except to bring out the truth in what would probably be the worst scandal facing the present administration.
Those people involved - the First Gentleman (the title stinks like hell), Mr. Abalos, et.al, would do anything to keep the truth from coming out, and heaven forbid that they succeed! These people deserved public hanging! These people are no different from the common THIEF!

I hope and pray that CHED Chairman Neri spits out whatever he knows of the ZTE scam and join Lozada in the Senate hearing today.
It is very unfortunate that this country is running out of honest and trustworthy leaders and it is high time to purge and flush them out of Malacanang.
I thank Mr Lozada for being brave enough to stand against the evils that this regime has spread - the culture of lies. This has to stop now…not next year…not in 2010.

WE BACOLODNONS BELIEVE MR. LOZADA IS TELLING THE TRUTH…WHY WOULD HE PUT HIMSELF IN THIS UGLY AND MESSY SITUATION….HE COULD HAVE LEFT AND LIVE IN SILENCE…BUT I ADMIRE HIM GREATLY FOR WHAT HE HAS QUOTED…”SOMETIMES, ONE HAS TO TAKE RISKS FOR THE LOVE OF THE COUNTRY.” I REALLY HOPE HE COMES THROUGH THIS TRIUMPHANTLY…WE REALLY DO…OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO HIM FOR HIS COURAGE, FOR THE SAFETY OF HIS FAMILY, AND FOR OUR COUNTRY…
IT HAS NOW BECOME VERY OBVIOUS THAT THE ARROYO GOVERMENT AND THE ARROYO FAMILY ARE NOT WORTHY OF OUR TRUST…THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A POWER-HUNGRY PEOPLE…
I VOTED FOR MRS. ARROYO AS PRESIDENT IN THE LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION…BUT I HAD MADE A MISTAKE IN GIVING HER MY TRUST. I GUESS MOST FILIPINOS ARE AWARE OF THAT…IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME NOW BEFORE THE PEOPLE WILL AGAIN DECIDE FOR HER…
I BELIEVE THAT OUR COUNTRY IS ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT GOVERMENT IN THE WORLD…IS THERE A CHANCE TO CHANGE IT??? I DONT KNOW…THAT IS ONE THING I AM UNCERTAIN ABOUT, UNLESS ONE LEADER WOULD STEP UP AND REALLY MAKE A CHANGE…WHY NOT? RIGHT?
BUT THE MAIN THING IS, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY HOPE MR. LOZADA WILL BE OKAY. WE ARE PRAYING FOR HIM. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF AN UGLY WAR FOR HIM….IT WONT BE EASY…I HOPE THOSE POLITICIANS WHO ARE “GOOD” WOULD BACK HIM UP ON THIS…GOD BLESS MR. LOZADA. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!!! WE BELIEVE IN YOU….

What our country needs is a new mind set and that is ‘LOVE OF COUNTRY. Mr Jun Lozada and Joey De Venecia have come out to denounce the corruption involving the NBN ZTE deal because they are concerned for the Filipino people and our country. Let us join hands in denouncing the ceasless act of corruption by people like Abalos, the Arroyos (the most corrupt President and family that ever existed in our country) and all the corrupt government officials that pervade our country. Mr Lozada and Joey De Venecia needs our unending support but most of all our prayers for their protection and safety.

Calls for Arroyo to quit (again); Palace says wait for 2010

They have the nerve to say, Wait until 2010. They didn’t even wait for Erap, To finish his tern in the office before they kick him out. When Erap, Has a mandate from filipino people.
Its no great loss if she get kick out. After all she is not the duly elected President of the Philippines, She don’t have a mandate from the filipino people. Because she only stole her title from the duly elected President Joseph Estrada, And she stole it again in May 10, 2004. Presidential election from Fernando Poe, Jr.
MANILA, Philippines — Calls for Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to step down were again heard Thursday after a government official linked her husband to the alleged overprice in the National Broadband Network (NBN) contract with China’s ZTE Corp.
Kick her ass out after all there is solid evidence against her for being the biggest crooks. What are you waiting for. Kick her ass out oro mismo. Its over due!

When we talk of a few good men, Mr Lozado is one of those rare breed of men who acknowledges that they are no saint but when it comes to matters of utmost importance and deep personal integrity one must truly count the cost. I am sure the past few days have been agonizing for him. But i encourage him because he is not alone. A lot of people are behind you. The filipino is really worth dying dying for as Ninoy said

the one who has the most to lose usually is more believable - in this case, his wife, children, family and his own life. i wonder how others can still impugn malicious insinuations on this guy and yet take all the pronouncements of malacanang hook, line and sinker.
but there may be another reason. i’m afraid that even the PDI interactive (like the Star’s) has now been invaded by paid bloggers. really, money from kickbacks can do a lot of things.

Ika nga give them what is due to them, para wala ng kurakot.

The senators condone wire-tapping in the Hello Garci hearings but condemn wire-tapping as criminal in the Lozada ZTE/NBN hearings.
Another case of double-standards illustrated by the law-makers.

With President Arroyo and her government again tottering to a point of near collapse owing to the exposés on the abduction of a Senate witness and the stink in a broadband deal, she is now initiating moves to reconcile with ousted Speaker Jose de Venecia.

Lozada is not a hero. Hindi lang nabigyan ya.

Folks:
It is apparent that the Filipinos (without exception) when given that golden opportunity to do some good, will eventually turn their sight on something else.
Be it power, money, women or all of the above, most people. high or low, will not hesitate to grab that opportunity for their own selfish interest, disregarding the consequences of it all.
With a very few exceptions, can anybody deny that every politicians, businessmen, and captains of industries does not have a mistress or two. Their dealings are always with a tint of corruption, because that is our way of life.
Sorry to say this, but it is, I think in our psyche to get something for nothing. If for example you over paid a taxi driver or a tricycle driver, do you think he will return the extra money to you? If a salesperson gave you too much change on your purchase, will you return the extra money? I really doubt it. We are all guilty. We belong to the same cloth, the same fiber. I do not know how we reach this sad state of our morality. Sad indeed.

Abalos is onematter, but Mike Arroyo another.
Since GMA became president, therearecountless accusations ofhis involvement inanomalous deals, unlawful activiteis etc., etc.
And always he and Malacanang sayd “its all lies”. So, there must really be a big organisation that has nothing else to do than to fabricate bad stories against Mike. Because all the people that have been accusing the Arroyos could never ceat such fake stories by themselves since they never would have the informations what, how and when to accuse in a way which is matching real happenings.
But there is also a saying “there where is smoke, there is also a fire”. Means, strong rumours always have a real background.
Tama Na!

My hat’s off to Mr. Jun Lozada.
I hope Neri comes out next time. He’s the last piece to this puzzle. gayahin nya sila Joey, JDV, Bondoc at Lozada na nagpapakamatay para lang lumabas ang baho ng administrasyon na to!!!
Willie B.S.

I am grieving at the state of our affairs as a nation. Randy David’s column today spoke very eloquently of what I feel strongly in my heart — no shame, no conscience, no limit. The lies and the lack of integrity is appaling and I fear for what it will instill in our psyche as a people. Let us not make it easy for people to do wrong things! Let us counter this wave of brazen lies by continuing to act honestly and with integrity in all our dealings. We are our only hope, each one of us.

I can clearly see that we are being presided by the devils.
Let’s see how it all started:
First, see how they grabbed the presidency from Erap. Second, these same people manipulated the 2004 election. Third, unending corruptions. Fourth, senseless & fearless killings to protect their anomalies. Fifth, obvious briberies. Sixth, they corrupt righteous people, and ETC.
THESE SAME PEOPLE, WHO GRAB AND ARE RIGHT NOW SEATED IN MALACANANG, SOME IN CONGRESS, IN DOJ, IN COMELEC, IN THE SENATE, DENR, DOTC, AND SOME CITIES, PROVINCES, AND UP TO THE BARANGGAY LEVEL are very, very THIRST of POWER & MONEY which equates to evil-doings or ONLY THE DEVIL IS DOING ALL OF THIS.
I BELIEVE THAT GOV. PANLILIO & LOZADA ARE GOD SEND TO REDEEM US.
WE CAN SEE HOW FEW PEOPLE ARE DOING THE EXTRAORDINARY, EVEN IF THEIR LIVES AND FAMILIES ARE IN LIMBO, THAT IS BECAUSE, THEY DO IT FOR OUR COUNTRY AND DON’T WANT TO SELL THEIR SOULS TO THE DEVILS.
I WOULD LIKE TO COMMEND ALSO THE PRIESTS AND NUNS WHO REMAIN AND WHO ARE ALWAYS IN SEARCH OF THE LIGHT.
IF ONLY WE ALL HAVE THIS KIND OF LOVE FOR OUR COUNTRY, WE WON’T LET THESE DEVILS CONTINUE ON DECEIVING US.

NOW THE DOJ WANTS TO INVESTIGATE!
Let’s see how the DOJ will play this out. Lozada and Joey DV III cannot bust the ZTE deal wide open because their testmonies are basically hearsay. Only Abalos and Neri can because they are the ones that talked to and received instructions directly from the powers that be. Will Abalos tell all? Of course not. Being the principal suspect, he is not an idiot to incriminate himself. If he lied before the Senate, why should he not go along with the administration lie in covering up their tracks and save himself in the process?
Neri can blow the lid but he will not do that because he loves his job too much and his loyalty to this administration has held him hostage from doing what is right.
More than Lozada and Joey, it is Neri and Abalos who are in grave danger of threats to their lives. Are such threats possble? Why not, when we have seen this administration does not seem bothered by adverse public opinon. The fact that mind boggling exposes of corruption happen repeatedly one after another that are consequently reflected in the dwindling public trust rating surveys, all this appears to have no effect on the administration whatsoever.
One serious misdeed after another. Sending Lozada out of the country to avoid the Senate hearing, abducting Lozada at the airport, forcing him to write those letters and affidavit, all designed to cover up their misdeeds, show the extent of their criminal intent. Would it matter anymore to these people if the principal witnesses, Neri and Abalos, were terminated if it becomes necessary just so they can cover their tracks? Anything is possible.
GMA may be credited for the country’s economic progress because of her good economic policies but all this is nullified when you see the extent of corruption involving the highest people in government and the means employed by her own people to cover up the anomalies in total disregard of the basic human rights. Why is she allowing this to happen? That is totally unacceptable.
I was in total support for GMA until she unconscionably freed the convicted plunderer who is now rated by the UN as its No. 10 world’s greatest thieves. For me, this unconscionable act of freeing an unremorseful plunderer, not because it was the proper and right thing to do, but rather for the sake of political expediency, shows her complete disregard for public opinion that it has reached the point it has become absolutely intolerable.

To those who are asking why is it that Jun Lozada has only come out now, the answer is simple. Before all this, he was part of the system. He thought he was doing his duty as a government employee by keeping quiet. But thankfully he has seen the LIGHT and has come out with the TRUTH! May your tribe increase Mr. Jun Lozada! There are very few people like you in the government. Most have been blinded by their greed.
Government positions should be like car warranties…3 years or 100,000km…In this case it should be 3 years of 100Million na ang nakurakot, whichever comes first…pathetic…

If Gloria Arroyo, Don’t have anything to hide. Why is it she’s doing everything in her power to cover-up all her stinky shit. Sabihin mo all the accusation throw against her is true. In fact there is solid evident against her. And she should be in jail where she belong but she’s still the one running the country because she control the entire corrupt justice system.

sen. escudero’s remarks that lozada’s illegal acts are only “barangay liga” compared to abalos’ commissions at the level of “national basketball association” only serves to highlight a root cause of corruption in the Philippines. it is as if saying that taking illegally a few hundreds of thousands or a few millions from the public funds is alright; only not to take so much. i am also reminded of erap’s usual defense that he did not take a single centavo from the government funds because he might be thinking that jueteng money is not a public fund. that is why corruption is pervasive in the country because everyone, including perhaps sen. escudero could take a pittance of public funds, as long as it would not in the leagues of the “nba”. using mr. lozada’s and sen escudero’s line of reasoning, it is alright to take a few reams of paper, present a bogous receipt for taxi fare or food expense, or issue a certificate that “i have incurred” such an amount, or rent a satelite office to be paid by public funds even if such place is also the official’s residence. there is no harm in doing all these, as long as it is not in the league of “nba.”

We need somebody to die in the likes of Aquino, Dacer and the guy at the casino to oust this administration. Lozada is likely the candidate. Nearly, when they were supposed to dump him at the highway at Dasmarinas. But, anyway, he could be the next halfbreed saint. In the meantime, he’ll make his erstwhile cohorts squirm at the sight of our new hero on the TV, heard over the radio or even at the vibration of their Nokias. Its going to be hell for them. My only regret is that the congress removed the death penalty.

One really interesting bit that has come out of the exposé of former chief of Philippine Forests Corp., Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr., was his retelling of the telephone conversation Benjamin Abalos Sr., former Elections chief, had with presidential spouse Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo in the ZTE witness’ presence.
It was evident, from what was being said by Abalos, as recounted by Lozada, that the tone of Abalos was hardly deferential toward Big Mike and in fact, he was fairly threatening, saying, in so many words, if that was the way Big Mike deals, he would have no more of him, stressing that they may as well forget the deal.
This was in reference to Abalos’ maintaining his $130 million in kickback, which can be done through a loan agreement with China ZTE Corp.
That Big Mike did what he was told to do by Abalos was evident in the speed of time a letter from ZTE confirming the loan agreement for the broadband network deal, with a final increased price of $329 million for the project, or an overprice of 300 percent.
Just what does Abalos have over Mike and Gloria Arroyo for him to succeed in getting Big Mike and Gloria do as he wants and get away with it?
************************
He knows to much about the cheating operation in May 10, 2004. Presidential election. Of course!
*************************
The answer may be in the retelling of Lozada of his telephone conversation with Abalos, where Abalos, as Lozada said, cursed and threatened him, saying, again in so many words, that he had friends in the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (Isafp) and had wiretapped several conversations that could blow Lozada and the ZTE house down.
Lozada also stated in his testimony before the Senate that while he was under the control of his abductors, he could hear conversations in the Senate, and among senators, as well as his abductors telling him that it was useless for him to use his mobile phone since they can easily cut off the text messages and that they knew exactly what the messages he was sending his family were.
Put it all together, and one gets to conclude that Abalos (and perhaps a full partner also involved in the ZTE deal and other monkey business) has several Isafp wiretapped conversations that can be throughly incriminating to several people, including Gloria and Mike Arroyo, along with several other high-profile government officials — and even. No doubt, some Supreme Court justices have been wiretapped. That’s a pretty good guarantee for anyone who may, one day, have to face several lawsuits before the courts.
There is, of course, the “Hello Garci” tapes where the cheating in the 2004 polls was recorded and where, it should be remembered, the First Gentleman was also caught in a conversation with Virgilio Garcillano, cheating operator of Gloria, telling him to fix the votes for Sen. Robert Barbers for him to win the polls.
And there were the conversations of Gloria and Garcillano all recorded too. If this could be done in 2004, on the highest official of the land and by the Isafp, think who else can be tapped, at will.
It is certain that there are more incriminating wiretapped conversations that haven’t surfaced as yet, but even a dunce can deduce that some bigwigs in Malacañang are held by the balls by someone who has complete dossiers and hard evidence on their illegal and criminal activities, as they hold by the balls other aides and cohorts.
Naturally, the big-time criminals in Malacañang also have evidence against Abalos, but both are hardly going to expose each other publicly and destroy themselves in the process.
What these incriminating pieces of evidence do, for either one, is to protect one from the other, in the event one brings this out.
In such case, given the conditions, if the top criminals in Malacañang doublecross the other, and the crossed one retaliates and it will always be the biggies in Malacañang who will get it from the Filipino people, rather than the other, who also holds the two aces, to Malacanang biggies’ two.
It is no wonder then that, despite the first exposé on the ZTE-NBN scam, there was no move on the part of Congress to impeach Abalos — and we all know that Gloria and Mike call the shots in the House — especially in impeachment matters.
It is also no wonder that the Ombudsman has been sitting much too lengthily on the Abalos graft case, and why she frigging absolved Abalos and all the election commissioners.
One wrong move against Abalos, and Gloria and Mike are done for.
What gangsters have descended upon the Filipino people!

MANILA, Philippines — Who says Malacañang is not after the truth? This time around, the Palace won’t block the appearance in the Senate of government officials implicated by Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. in the corruption scandal that forced the government to abort the $329-million project.
“I suppose that’s the only way we can better address the things he (Lozada) said. They have to be refuted,” said Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita when asked by the Inquirer if President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo won’t invoke Executive Order 464, which prohibits senior executive and military officials from appearing before Congress without her permission

why give a man credibility as we all know he, “lozada”, has no credibility.

i don’t understand why the senate has to do the investigation, as we all know we have the NBI or the Ombudsman to do the job.
why? is it because they don’t have nothing to do in the senate except to investigate that has been investigated.

With all these brouhaha over the ZTE deal, we should not forget that what Mr. Lozada has actually exposed is not so much specific wrongdoings by government officials but a picture of a corrupt system that has been pulling this country down for years, not just during the Arroyo administration. The same thing is true with allegations of electoral fraud against GMA.
While I am not a fan of GMA, and most especially not her husband’s (I am actually praying for the day that her term will end so that we can all move on, hopefully, under a better president), I think the only way this country can get past this crisis, and achieve something constructive out of it, is to call for a transparent review of the procurement and electoral system, among others, and encourage a dialogue on how changes can be put in place.
It is curious that when controversies such as this blow up, politicians would be out there vying for airtime denouncing whoever is held allegedly responsible, calling for resignations, impeachments, as if the removal of the people involved will solve the problem. But history tells us it does not.
It is just an easy way for these politicians to avoid taking responsibility for a system that they helped propagate in the first place.
This is not to say that people should not protest against official wrongdoing. But I think this should also be balanced by a clear assessment of where the problem truly lies. But, then what politician will have the courage to do that, when he knows that the way the system works allows him to get his occasional kickback too?
The lukewarm reaction of people to calls for GMAs resignation, or impeachment, I think reflects this sentiment. If I hear a politician out there calling for institutional changes and doing something constructive about it, then I will sit up and listen.
Just because GMA’s administration sucks, doesn’t mean that the alternative is better.

I doubt Mr. Lozada’s ability to arrive at a conclusion that the NBN is only worth $132. The PLDT and Globe broadband networks only cover big cities (does not include remote towns and barangays) yet their investment is already in billions.
The NBN is supposed to provide broadband connection to all national and local government units from Aparri to Jolo and $132 is not enough investment. These government entities are in thousands. Just imagine the number of barangays in every town in 14 regions and each will be connected/wired to Manila. The cost involved should be huge and not only $132m (because $130m was supposed to the commission). The total project, he said, was $262 ($132 as cost and $130 as commission).
Even if the total project cost is raised to $362 as it is being done by DOTC, I believe this is not even reasonable considering the high cost of technology required. Hence, all the one-sided appraisal of the project by Mr. Lozada, Joei de Venecia, some of the senators, the opposition and the leftists is only meant to push the agenda of bringing themselves up in the pile of crabs.
Besides, his story lacks logic. It would be naive for Abalos to talk to FG over the phone and in-front of Mr. Lozada, discussing a very sensitive $262 project. This is not grocery transactions which can just be discussed in streets. FG can’t afford to be bugged and wiretapped for he knows what the consequences would be if more issues will be hurled against him. FG has already enough of his troubles and I believe this man has still lucid mind and not yet suicidal.
How in the world would Jun Lozada be giving 5-month evaluation work for a $262m project for free? The logical conclusion is he did not get paid salaries but he must have been promised commissions or rewards for his participation. In which case, this would contradict to what he wants to portray himself as honest and patriotic. From his demeanor, he was partially honest and partially lying. Lying involves withholding important information or modifying an information leading to disinformation.
From his answers to Sen. Santiago, he was also having his own petty corrupt practices at the Phil. Forest Corp. Stealing of government funds, weather small or big, is still stealing. What’s the difference between stealing 1 peso and a million? It’s both a sin and a crime and an assault to one’s conscience and integrity. He did his small corrupt practices by rewarding himself with a Camry, 5m life insurance (premium paid by government) and favorable projects to his brothers. There could be more depending on who would provide the evidence. Sen. Santiago’s charge was more credible because she had presented documents. On the other hand, Jun Lozada was merely only making allegations. He needs to substantiate them by presenting concrete evidence. Allegations are not proof and not even evidence.
Mr. Lozada made a tragic mistake. He chose the wrong side of the national divide. He was telling his story to people whom he did not realize had bigger, more sinister and unpatriotic plans. He will just be used and later when there will be calm he will just be dumped. It happened to Sandra Cam and other witnesses who were provided protection but when funds ran out they were thrown into the streets by the senate.
When I hear witnesses and senators say they are concerned of the Filipino people’s welfare, my hair stands on end. The genuine patriotic pinoy is not yet born. If there are any, they are not in the country.
The best thing to do now is we just allow this government to wind up in 2010. Bringing it down today is no different from shooting our own foot.

Personalities in ZTE Deal Involved in ‘Hello, Garci’
Of course they’re involved in it, After all they’re Gloria Arroyo, Parther in crimes. So what else is new to the corrupt regime of this bogus President Gloria Arroyo.
Friday, 08 February 2008
Two of the main characters involved in the “Hello Garci wiretap scandal are apparently involved again in the botched $329 million broadband ZTE deal, the latest scandal that has led to renewed calls for President Arroyo to resign.
Testifying before the Senate today, IT expert Rodolfo Noel Lozada narrated how former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos lobbied for Chinese company ZTE to bag the overpriced broadband project. A certain Ruben Reyes also accompanied him in at least one meeting.
Voices of both Abalos and Reyes were heard in the “Hello, Garci” tape. The same illegal trick employed in the “Hello, Garci” scandal was employed again. They had Lozada wiretapped this time.
Abalos, who was the Comelec chair during the 2004 elections, is now alleged to be the mastermind in the botched broadband deal. He appointed Garcillano’s cabal of cheating network in the ARMM area despite warnings that a massive cheating will be operated.
Lozada had been meeting with Abalos and ZTE officials—a Chinese company that eventually bagged the broadband deal until the project was scrapped—to represent then National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Romulo Neri. De Venecia represented the other bidder to the broadband deal.
Ruben Reyes, Again
Reyes, on the other hand, appeared to have initiated the wiretapping of former Comelec Commisioner Virgilio Garcillano during the elections. This conclusion was the result of Newsbreak’s investigation in 2005, after the “Hello, Garci” controversy broke out.
Reyes is a wealthy businessman known in the military circles as a patron and power broker—a go-to guy for officers who need connections to Malacanang and get promoted. He is also said to be a good friend of the President’s younger brother, Diosdao Macapagal Jr. and an adopted member of PMA class 1972. (Click here to read “In The Shadows: The story behind the wiretapped conversations of Virgilio Garcillano and President Arroyo.”)
Paranaque Rep. Roilo Golez even had Reyes summoned to a congressional hearing on the “Hello, Garci” tapes, but he did not show up.
Lozada discovered that Abalos had him wiretapped when Abalos got angry with him because of his phone conversations with Jose “Joey” De Venecia III, who represented the other bidder in the broadband deal. He did not elaborate on the nature of his conversations with De Venecia, but it led Abalos to threaten his life. Lozada stopped representing Neri since the death threat.
Wiretapped
On November 5, the day he returned from Hong Kong, Lozada was abducted and then wiretapped again.
On board the vehicle, Lozada was able to send at least two text messages to his brother before his abductors had his phone turned off. He was able to inform his brother that he was taken by unknown people, and then instructed him to look for him by checking where his messages are coming from. An engineer, Lozada explained that the location of a person can be traced by checking the signal that his or her phone is using.
He said his abductors told him to stop sending messages. “We are getting it,” he was told.

Senate’s investigation is a good way of having a check & balance system in our government. But as we all know, the people from the positions of the President, VP, Senators and Congressmen are all elected and belong to organizations we all know as Parties and these Parties are self-styled and have their own interest. Even politicians who claim that they are “Independent” have their own sponsors and handlers. These groups wants to be No. 1 in any of their undertakings , EVEN TO POWER AND WEALTH! So where do the “taong bayan” or “common tao” or “Masa” place themselves in our Philippine political scenario??? Eto: Just to be swayed by these Parties to get Masa’s votes and these Masa to be used again in times when some bigwigs of these political Parties were not placed properly or by-passed in juicy positions as originally agreed upon by the so called ” Coalition in the Govt”. They’ll play with the Masa’s minds to rebel on who’s the one in power! These is what we call “People’s Power” hahaha! Kaya ang taong bayan naman, pls learn how to read between the lines, wag agad maniwala sa mga litanya ng mga politicong ito. Di ba sabi nga ng mga politicong ito, “Politics is my CAREER”, so hindi LINKOD-BAYAN ang habol nila sa pamumulitika kundi HANAPBUHAY nila at ng kanilang PAMILYA(na Mayaman na)! Kaya mga kaibigan, wag po tayong tatanga-tanga!

MANILA, Philippines–As far as the Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) is concerned, First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo and former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos did not meddle in the bidding for the National Broadband Network (NBN) project.
At the same time, DoTC Secretary Leandro Mendoza maintained that the $329-million loan deal with China’s ZTE Corp., which was eventually scrapped, was not overpriced.
“Wala [None],” Mendoza told a news conference, when asked if the First Gentleman and Abalos were involved in the pricing of the ZTE contract.
At a Senate investigation last Friday, a former technical consultant for the NBN project, Rodolfo Lozada, said Mr Arroyo and Abalos knew of the alleged overpricing.
Pressed further if Abalos had a role in the ZTE deal, Mendoza said: “Wala [None]. Even Lozada has no role here. Only Joey and ZTE officials have roles here.”
Mendoza was referring to businessman Jose De Venecia III, the son of former House Speaker Jose de Venecia, whose company, Amsterdam Holdings Inc. (AHI), lost out to ZTE in its bid for the NBN project.
The young De Venecia accused Abalos of bribery. He also said that Abalos and the First Gentleman pressured him to withdraw his bid for the project.
Transportation undersecretary Lorenzo Formoso reiterated that ZTE Corp.’s initial $262-million offer would cover only 30 percent of the NBN project’s requirements and the loan had to be increased to $329 million for the network to cover the entire country.
“Our technical people never spoke to Lozada,” Mendoza said, adding, “Where is he coming from?”
Mendoza said he did not see Abalos when the ZTE deal was signed in front of the President in China last year.

as i viewed tv on senate inquiries, read the news and experienced actual participation in government procurement system being one of the supplier, one thing is sure, corruption existed in the process, the existing ranges now is 20-40% project cost rebates or kick-back. the most easy but highly hit common government projects are: medicines procurements, farm to market roads, equipments procurements, agricultural supplies (seeds, fertlizers, pesticides), school buildings constructions. hope that someone will care to expose and correct this things….a challenge to COA people, please do the right things, do not tailor the syatem of corruption to be found legal…

At least Mr. Lozada has a little bit of “KONSENSIYA” and I must say he’s a real man although he “cries a lot ” according to Mr. S. Apostol ( S.. is for Sergio, not SIPSIP, STUPID).. Inamin niya ang kaniyang pagkakamali at may limitation ang pagiging corrupt niya while he is in the position.. Mr. Lozada, Thank you.. what destabilization? the current tennant in malacanang is really blurred on the meaning of government. when someone speaks against a member of her family or herself, it is readily equated to destabilization of the government. she might need to be reminded (although she is already blinded by her power) that government is for the people, by the people and of the people. it is not who sits in malacanang that wields power; it is the people who has the power — as manifested by the so-called people power. when they sit in malacanang, they forget that they are public servants and instead treat themselves like royalties. they never learned.
maybe we should rename malacanang from palace to ‘dampa’; this might make the occupant not act as if they are royalties but rather act like public servants.
come to think of it, when someone changes the norm, is it tantamount to destabilization? if so, the changes in percentage of overpricing, as well as using public funds to kidnap its own citizen can be called destabilization. where is the protest from malacanang? instead they resort to character assassination as if they are saints and call the act of telling the truth as part of destabilization process against the government. one of the stages of change and the most difficult one is denial.
i pray that, they find a shred of delicadeza in them and start a peaceful exit from malacanang.

While we should not doubt the credibility of Lozada in his testimony in the senate and he is telling the public about 80% of the the true facts. Why only 80%? Havent you notice the deeds of Sen. Lacson whose always having a close door talks with Lozada. Also, he is showing up in the rallies outside the Senate grounds supported by the groups such as Black & White, militant partylist group, etc. Now, can you call him as an impartial person to the investigation? hmmmm? While it is understandable that Cayetano is at the helm of the investigation but his side is obviously known, Lacson is trying to squeeze in some “unknown” statements to Lozada. Hmmmmm? Well, its a good thing we have this composition of people in the Senate to balance corruption in the government BUT the “masa”, the middle class and those people who just want to work and live decently must also think that this issue is something we can wisely ponder at but not to fully commit to it as we are commited to our LIVES, essentially.

“(Joker) Arroyo’s stand typifies the administration bloc’s “lawyer-like” stand on the NBN-ZTE probe, such as that taken by Senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Juan Ponce Enrile, which contrasted sharply with the opposition senators’ layman-like approach to investigations.”
- Inquirer, Palace-Lozada face-off on abduction seen
the senate holds a very important role in molding the country’s law that it should be noted with high esteem for justice and truth. that the result of investigations are done according to the stringent scrutiny of facts more than gut feeling.
if a witness can not reconcile his statement of facts based on his claimed expertise (e.g. allegations for overpricing) through competent documents then how can we arrive at the truth?
lozada could have come to the senate backed with official paper works of the deal and his own expert computations. but instead, the investigating senators slapped him documents of his self-dealing and negotiated contracts while heading PFC.
layman-like approach to the investigation might be good. it can haul in crowd-pleasing results. it’s an appeal to masses. but logic will not favor bandwagon fallacy. Here’s why.
while it is widely believed that ZTE might have charged exuberant price for the proposed infrastructure, that may come false. (anyone can come up with their own credible computations.)
while it is popularly perceived that FG/abalos has something to do with kickbacks that “comes with the deal”, that may never be true. (saliva is no match to documented proof.)
while it is hugely believed that gloria sanctioned this illicit dealings, proof to that - ZERO.
on the other hand, all allegations maybe true because a lot of people think they are true. But who says fifty million elvis fans cant be wrong?
Andy
Clearly, Gen. Razon is speaking in a different context when he said Mr. Lozada is a free man during the abduction. According to him, Lozada can go to the restroom, use his cellphone etc. Well tell that to the prisoners in our corrections. They can also use the restroom and use their cellphones. But that doesn’t mean that they’re free.
Alvin
Waste of time and effort. We all know why the senate is pursuing this….”politics” (election is near). We all know the the opposition is behind this… to discredit the admin. Opposition will not stop to oppose, that’s their (only?) job. They use De Venecia, Lozada,.. who’s next?
Thank God our government still functions with so many distractions. People want constructions and not destructions.
Rod J
Hello Garci, Jocjoc Bolante, and even this ZTE-NBN matter are, until today, war of words. In short, POLITICS.
Maybe its time Filipinos should talk about JUSTICE.
Absolutely we cannot hang people based on presumptions of guilt and at every time somebody comes up with an allegation hurled against somebody else. Lets give people benefits of doubt.
Maybe its time to be making formal charges so the guilty can be punished and the innocent cleared.

It is very unfortunate that this country is running out of honest and trustworthy leaders and it is high time to purge and flush them out of Malacanang.

IT WAS NO KIDNAPPING!
From yesterday’s Senate hearing, it becomes apparent that the alleged kidnapping of Jun Lozada by some police operatives was no kidnapping. It was clearly a poorly scripted Lozada-led plan that went awry. One thing is clear; Lozada sought help so he did not have to appear at the senate hearing which the Malacanang boys were just too happy to accommodate. Whatever they told Lozada to do he did willingly. But, what should have been a simple job of sneaking Lozada out of the airport was ruined because of a comedy of errors. Planned haphazardly by the funny Keystone cops, nobody took the trouble of explaining to Lozada how the covert operation was to be played. Nobody bothered to tell Lozada who were the security men meeting him and where they planned to go. The comedy begins when Lozada mistakenly thought he was being kidnapped. Who would not be terrified being driven around for hours by strangers who remained quiet throughout, monitored his every move, and acted like kidnappers? Naturally, Lozada’s family who was not in the loop panicked. Realizing their mistake, Lozada’s handlers also panicked and got him to sign letters asking for security protection to preempt any attempt to charge them with forcible abduction or kidnapping. Throughout this entire comedic and confusing episode, a frightened and exasperated Lozada whose mind must be spinning uncontrollably willingly did what he was asked to do including signing that affidavit extricating any government personality from the ZTE scandal just to get out of this unexpected tragic-comic dilemma.
Lozada’s handlers may be able to get away with kidnapping but I doubt if they can with obstruction of justice.

reaction to those asking for proof — i am reminded by the twilight time of the marcos regime, raising his hands as well as tolentino’s — they believe they were the winners of the snap election despite the national belief they cheated. asked for the proof of vote cheating, the electorate chose to present their proof in the streets, reminding the regime how many votes were actually cheated.
now, comes an article that tennant in the palace is forming two task forces to combat corruption in the government — perhaps to portray that she is against corruption and that she has nothing to do with the nbn-zte deal. reminds me of the movie nemo when the sharks took dory and the clownfish as guests for their “alcohol annonymous-like” meeting announcing “fish are friends, they are not to be eaten”, at the hint of blood, a shark participant gone berserk and wanted to take their fish guests as his dinner. that’s the nature of being a shark.
the comedy of errors narrated on the alleged abduction of jun lozada seem to show divine intervention. it was blessing in disguise that his cellphone battery went dead, thus, the execution of the plan changed from the final instructions given to him made him react differently and reflect on the things he needs to do — which he did.

the issue of asking for proof is simple.
if one claims abalos/fg or any other personality is guilty of political corruption bring them to the court and show the proof. right now lozada can hint his claims better at the senate where more than half stands hawkishly against gloria. he can be the mouthpiece of their hearts ill desire. until he can genuinely persuade the few good minds in the upper house that he came there with clean hands, then he cant yet claim his messianic calling.
now, let us start resurging the salem action 300 years too late and exemplify the complete disregard for the law. we might as well want to demolish our courts and initiate our emotional plea to anarchy. how’s that as drumbeat tune to arroyo’s resignation?

I don’t think that even China will accept Lozada.
Lozada purposedly told the public that he has the Chinese blood just to get the symphaty of the Chinoys, or the Chinese people (remember… ZTE is from China)
He also sought the help of the nuns just to get the symphaty of the Church.
He also tried his best to breakdown in tears (halatang arte, alang luha e) just to get the symphaty of the public. Most of us choose the side of the underdog (yung naaapi daw).
But look how he acts now. Super yabang na because he knows that he has fooled many people na para pumanig sa kanya. Have you noticed his “make-face” during the hearing? Wla tayong magagawa. Sikat na sya! Kadalasan sumasabay sa kasikatan ang kayabangan.
Matalino din ano? Pero few of us notice that this controversy was planned. But let’s see if this will end accdg to their (Lozada and conspirators) plan.

unang una, may tinatawag tayong separation of powers… as we all know the executive, the legislative and the judiciary.
ang senate at kongreso ay akala mo ay hari na basta na lang iimbestigahan ang executive department. it is a one sided affair, it is very partial against the president.
how about them, these senators and congressmen, are also accountable to their doings, their wrongdoings. Their budgets, their dealings, their pork barrel, where do they go. they should also be investigated. they should be audited on their performances, on how many bills have been enacted into laws.
The senate and congress are abusing their powers, their legislative powers by conducting investigations in aid of legislation kuno, but after that where the laws that have been legislated thru investigation.
How about the investigation body of our government, the ombudsman, the NBI. let them do their job and not the Senate.
In short, this senate investigation on NBN deal has ultimate purpose, to put the president in bad light in the eyes of the filipinos by continous coverage of the media and by projecting that GMA is corrupt on this one and isolated incident.
There are many more things to think and to do in life and let us not consumed by this useless and nonsense investigation.

Don’t waste your time trying to change other people’s minds about who is credible on this issue. And, don’t assume you know everything because unlike history, this event is still unfolding.

Papaano hindi sila sabitsabit they’re lying to their teeth.

Siguro kailangan nilang subukang muli.
Hindi sila mabigo if the price is right. Hindi ba? lahat may prisyo! Lahat mabibila nila after all they have all the taxepayer’s money to spend.

Senator Joker Arroyo did not make any sense in saying that Jun Lozada is not a credible witness because he does not have any written/hard evidences to prove what he has revealed. So what? Are oral expositions useless in this type of argument?
And so what if Mr Lozada is no Clarissa Ocampo? Does someone need to be like her to be credible? Will someone outside the government, in this case, be available to testify when this involves a government project that was studied and scrutinized by fellow government people?
Where is justice in this? How could a righteous senator, like Joker Arroyo, allow himself to be ridiculed by this administration?
I am a UP graduate, and Im very ashamed that even this supposed honorable man refused to choose what is right.

Governors swear loyalty to Arroyo amid Senate NBN probe
By Bobby Labalan
Southern Luzon Bureau
First Posted 14:42:00 02/13/2008
PILI, Camarines Sur — The League of Provinces of the Philippines pledged full support for President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo amid renewed calls for her to resign in the face of the Senate investigation into allegations of corruption surrounding the scrapped national broadband network (NBN) deal.
The LPP is the organization of provincial governors.
In a unanimous resolution passed during the LPP’s second general assembly Wednesday, the governors also rejected calls for unconstitutional means to oust Arroyo.
Misamis Occidental Governor Leo Ocampos, league president, said Arroyo critics must let the courts act on the allegations leveled against Malacañang.
They also called on the Senate stop its investigation into the NBN contract, which was awarded to China’s ZTE Corp. but was scrapped following allegations of bribery and kickbacks.
The governors also called on the opposition to wait for the 2010 presidential elections because it is still too early for politics.
+++++++++++++++++++
These idiots were saying wait until 2010. Bakit mayroon bang election sa 2010. Wala!!!
Hindi ba, The reason they kick JDV and install Mr. Nogales, As a new speaker so that they’re free to do whatever they want to do, And change the contitution law; So that Gloria Arroyo, Can stay into her stolen power forever.
Of course they’re still supporting Gloria Arroyo, After all she’s been given them plenty of money oh, Hindi ba.

++++++++++++++++
Did you say, Planted? At sino naman ang na tanin. At kong bakit. I’ll bet you he knows the truth. Aside from Mr. Lozada,…I believe what he said I don’t care what other people say about him.
Ditch her out
I believe that this is the tipping point. If we lose this one great opportunity to bring across our strong message of indignation to Gloria and her Malacañang officials, then consider this as if nothing has happened and just move on, perhaps, we as the sovereign people are equally guilty and responsible for what our government has become. Perhaps the saying that we get the government that we deserve will be truer than ever
If Gloria Arroyo, Get away with it, She’ll be in power forever.
Ditch her out
Nograles said he would not want the House to investigate the NBN scandal.
He also said the issue of Lozada’s alleged kidnapping should be best left to the fiscal’s office or criminal court
++++++++++++++++++
Mr. Nogales, Said he don’t want the NBN to be investigate. I guess because if they do lalabas talaga ang katotohanan na may corruption.
Sabi rin ni Mr. Nogales, Take your case to court. Of course they want that because when you take your case to court nothing good will happen, Because they control the entire corrupt justice system.

Kawawa din naman si Jun Lozada kasi
wala siyang lalabasan sa pinasok
niyang sitwasyon. Pressures from the Govt side, senators and the MEDIA. Some media men are unscrupulous in their
interviews to seek the truth kuno, yung mga katanungan naman nila is leading
to something that will benefit a group or their company’s interests.
“patalsikin si Gloria” live on the air!
John
Is it righteous to believe the accusations that are not proven?
Joker Arroyo (and other people who commented the same thing) made a good point, but not everyone will agree with that. To make it more correct, let’s put that this way:
Oral exposition is GOOD but evidence is BETTER. If you can have both, well… that’s the BEST!
toni
more than just an oral exposition, this too is supposed to be an exposition of an alleged kickback and overpricing. this can only be credibly backed up by a good documentation taken from the supposed covert circumnavigation of public bidding plus his own professional inputs being an expert on that field. they have figures and lots of allegations and no paper works?
John
Lozada is a hero?!!
He repeatedly said, he did not want to testify. But because of fear of Senate’s warrant of arrest, lumitaw.
Palibhasa andyan na sya and surely there are people behind him that are saying “kaming bahala sa yo” o di kaya “lagot ka sa amin pag di ka nagsalita”.
In short, napilit din. And in the senate hearing he said, “for the sake of the country”. Bravo!!! (deafening claps and standing ovation pa).
He should say “for the sake of those who are using me”.
These are the common characteristics of a hero: Matapang at buo ang loob.
Ba’t may nagsasabing matapang daw c Lozada. Natakot nga sa warrant of arrest ng Senado eh kaya andyan yan. He has said he was intimidated by that.
How about “Buo ang loob”? Buo ba ang loob ng napilitan lang. It is not really because of his will why he’s in the senate hearing. It is the will of the people behind him.
Mayroon bang justice
Salonga: Enough evidence vs Mike Arroyo, Abalos, Neri
______________________
Yes, Indeed there is enough evidence to take them to court. But, And throw their ass in jail where they belong. But, Nothing good will happen if you take your case to court because they’re one of those people who help install her into her stolen power. Puyra nalang kong ma consinya sila. Mayroon ba sila noon? We all know in fact that there is solid evidence against her but she’s still the one running the country because she’s been protected by these corrupt PNP/AFP/JUDIARY. So how can you justify that. But the problem in the Philippines we don’t have rule of law; But a mobsterer law; Kawangwa ang bayan!
_______________________
MANILA, Philippines — The Senate probe of the $329-million National Broadband Network (NBN) deal has produced enough evidence that can be used to prosecute Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo, Benjamin Abalos Sr. and Romulo Neri, former Senate President Jovito Salonga said Wednesday.
Salonga said even President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo could be held accountable and impeached in connection with the allegedly anomalous contract after she went to Boao, China, to witness the signing of the contract with Chinese firm ZTE Corp.
Salonga, who wrote a book on rules of evidence, said citizens’ watchdog groups Kilosbayan, Bantay Katarungan and Bantayog ng mga Bayani would soon file a complaint in the Office of the Ombudsman against Mike Arroyo (the President’s husband), Abalos, Neri and even Environment Secretary Lito Atienza.

Karaniwan sa atin, madaling maniwala sa naririnig. Di pa mandin napapatunayan, may hatol na agad. Masyado tayong magaling!
Ang daming issue but none has been proven.
They have the power to publish their opinions that will reach thousands or even millions of people. Be fair sana.
Ganito ang karamihan sa tao, they think that when they oppose those in power, that shows their guts and courage. Nakakabilib, diba?

I’ve read the article “Checkmated Bishops” written in the editorial section.
That article expresses the sentiment of that someone (he did not identify himself) why the Church is not openly expressing itself on this issue.
Actually, they should not speak politically but instead spiritually. They should not take side as it may cause the faithful to distrust them. Spiritually, the Churh is united; but politically, they may be divided. Politics is messy and deceiving. Even them can be deceived.
My personal opinion, the Church should not get involve in politics. But that’s the going trend now. They want to be part of the “Big Show”.
I admire those who avoid this and please (to the media) … leave them alone.

To Alvin: I find it hard and even absurd to believe that the opposition or those who opposes the government only wants “gulo”, or chaos. All these controversies are just symptoms of the greater ill that is plaguing our country: rotten system and those equally rotten minded people who supports it.
Why is it that whenever people are dissenting, the government and its lackeys are quick to call it as a “distabilization plot”.
People, there is a concrete and valid reason why this investigations must continue.
True, there are a lot of issues. And almost none of them have been proven, not because their false but rather because the government is hindering and even intentionally blocking its development.
To the anti-government leaders: “Enough is enough!” means a stop to calls for resignation! What we need is a change of government! Change the system, not just the president!
I believe that it is high time to further radicalize our calls.
“Tama na! Sobra na! Palitan na ang sistema!!!”

Close this MANILA, Philippines — Environment Secretary Joselito Atienza on Friday urged the people to be more discerning and not to immediately hail his former subordinate, Rodolfo Noel “Jun” Lozada Jr., as a “hero.”
“He preaches good governance (but) he was not doing it in his own agency. He preaches fighting corruption but obviously PhilForest under him had a lot of shenanigans going on,” he said.
Lozada, former president of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Philippine Forest Corp., has testified before a Senate inquiry that former elections chief Benjamin Abalos tried to get kickbacks from the telecoms deal with Chinese firm ZTE.
He also said he was taken against his will by government security forces at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 when he arrived on February 5 from Hong Kong.
Atienza said he already regretted not sacking Lozada when they first met in November 2007 because his first impression of him was “emotionally high-strung.”
“My sixth sense was telling me there’s (sic) inner conflicts with the man. He was always shaking his legs while talking to me, his head was moving a lot and his eyes were rolling. It seemed rather off,” he said.
But when former Environment Secretary Mike Defensor vouched for his appointee, he said he decided to give Lozada another chance.
It was only much later that he learned that Lozada the apparently “mishandled” the distribution of land to be forested by giving several hectares to his family.
“My undersecretary for forestry, Manuel Gerochi (undersecretary for bureaus and attached agencies), told me he was supposed to be given access to about three million hectares and the DENR stopped it at 300,000. Rather than entrust him with that, DENR handled it. At that time I couldn’t understand what it connoted,” he said.
The huge tracts of land were supposed to be for jatropha plantations, but he claimed Lozada gave 50 hectares “to a company ostensibly belonging to him, and five hectares each to his family members.”
These allegations, he added, have already been raised by Senator Miriam Santiago during the Senate investigation and were backed by documents.
Asked if his department will pursue charges against Lozada for the alleged anomalies, the environment secretary said he did not have any plans of doing so at the moment.
“Some of his questionable acts were already heard in the Senate … The DOJ is already on to it, with the NBI as its investigating arm. All these are happening but not upon my instructions. I did not order anything, but these are official acts and he may have to answer all of these in due time,” he said. Allison W. Lopez

One thing I noticed.
There are some newsmen who report news with their embedded opinions. Others are exaggerating the news. In doing so, it may not be true anymore.
They always say, “Walang Kinikilingan”. But they are doing the opposite.
The people will surely doubt the credibility of their reports because they take side.
FAIR news is what we want and not their opinions.

We are GREAT!

Totoo naman ang sinasabi ni Jun Lozada, He don’t have any reason to lie. Beside he is not the only one were saying about the ZTE/NBN if you don’t believe it. Don’t!
Alvin
To Lozada’s disciples:
If you really believe Lozada’s statements, you should believe also that he said that he did not want to testify in the first place. Anong ibig sabihin nun? He was forced only to testify. Since he was forced to speak (for the sake of the country daw o), he could be forced what to tell (lie).
Akbar
Alvin,
You miss the point of the whole story. The reason why Lozada does not want to testify to the senate initially is because
he mentioned that under oath he cannot lie. That is why the Malacañang handlers arrange his departure. He went home because he was advice that it was already okay…..but what happen? He was snatch at the airport.
The only reason that he decided to testify is because of his plight during his arrival from HongKong…..he fear for his life. He and his Family could not take it anymore. He cannot find the answer why a simple man that he is, is being burdened by the things he did not do. He was just ask to reconcile the project between Abalos and JDV Jr….and the rest is history.
I think the witness (Lozada) is very credible.
Just think of it….why is that a simple man like Lozada can irate generals and top cabinet members and they cannot even disprove him.
All Atienza and Razon could say is that, he was not kidnapped. Well, it’s because they already have a signed affidavit. Question is, if their motive was pure…..why was he (Lozada) ask to signed an affidavit in the first place before going for a press-con? Motive?
Why did Abalos (during the senate face-off) ignore the question when he was ask if it was okay for him to be subjected to a lie-detector test. Lozada said yes. Because Abalos knows that only highly trained military men can beat the system (lie-detector).
It’s already up to their (government crooks) necks…that is why they are ganging up unto him.

reading the book ‘The world is flat, and then ‘Collapse’ and then last night ‘the movie ‘Jose Rizal’ e mapapa-isip ka talaga, especially when you are also reading and watching what’s going on in our own Philippines, and when you of course e me mga nakita o karanasan o naranasan talaga(ako syempre e makasalanan din kaya lang e salamat sa biyay, nakapagsisikap na maging tama sa tulong Niya). And then as you read some of the comments sa mga forums like this e,lalo kang mapapa-isip,and then maiisip mo at babalikan ang mga nakaraan…from FQS-first quarter storm na lang o from the first Edsa,at mapapailing ka talaga, lalo pa’t nakita mo ang nakaraang eleksyon at ngayon ang mainit na isyu at mga imbestigasyon sa nangyari.
sa The world is flat-e parang ang mensahe e ok lang to do everything as long as you are within the ‘RULE of Law’,pag-sumobra ka e sagutin mo na at dapat na panagutan ang kamalian.

How I wish that all Senators who seat in the Blue Ribbon Committee investigating this ZTE fiasco and all government scandals must first swear an oath in front of the camera and people that on their honor they have NEVER defrauded the people or the country or that they are not corrupt and therefore objectively and subjectively speaking are honest people or else be tried, locked up in jail, and even hanged.
Well, I suppose they would never do so unless they want to incriminate themselves. For after all the people have long known that almost all politicians are rudely corrupt and diabolically avaricious. And everything they do or say are always self serving. A good number of Filipinos observed that by just looking at them on television, you already could determine who are the crooks. Corruption has marred the serenity and peace of these politicians’ countenance. Rare indeed is the true statesman among them. Thieves and hypocrites they all are.
Alvin
Akbar, this is the expectation of the CONSPIRATORS. They think that most of the people are shallow-minded and will buy their stories. Your analysis of the issue was short.
We know that Lozada has been talking to Lacson (and the GANG) before appearing to the Senate. Did it never come across to your mind that they planned this?
Did you think that the security of the airport was not aware of the security cameras? How stupid!! They let themselves caught by their own device. HOW BRILLIANT YOUR IDEA IS!

Alvin,
Where the hell did you get the idea or the info that Lacson and Lozada had a prior meeting? That’s Bull shit!
It was only Neri and Lacson who had the meeting together with Jamby. There was an agreement that it should be kept secret……who divulge it? Neri himself. Know why? As the shallow minded.
Did you read the transcript of the senate hearing?
My question to you is or are….
1. Why did Arroyo suspend ( and later stop) the NBN Deal?
2. Why is it that Abalos only resign now? Not during the Computerization scam…not during the election fraud scam?.
3. Why is there a sudden Assasination Plot of PGMA? Decoy it is.
Did you see, read or know that Mike Defensor acknowledge the money that he has given to Lozada.
By far up to this point……LOZADA is very consistent. And it is very hard to combat a honest and consistent witness.
Shallow minded my ass!
Alvin
Akbar, you are blind BLIND as your mind! I did not say “meeting”.
For your questions, I am not like many others who pretend they know already the truth wherein the information they got are just hearsays.

Alvin
Hot Deals, I respect your belief.
Btw, have you heard of “Patriotic Fund”? You can join the witnesses to get money from it. Big bucks to ‘pre! With the knowledge that you have, pwede na yan, you are qualified na.

Alvin is surely correct, we can all become rich through the senate witch hunting …oopps btw..where will the senate get the patriotic funds?? Ohhh of course in their pork barrel (P200M/yr)and kickbacks..and where will these come from…where else…tax payers money!!!

Another querry…are income from joining rallies taxable?? Hmmm…are tax money taxable??

Hi Lynn,
Yes…only in the Philippines: Tax money are taxable.
Jamby M - You look rediculous. Don’t pretend that you’re too smart. There is a camera in front of you thats why it looks like you are working so hard.

Tama lang naman na paghinalaan ang hidden agenda ng mga senador, after all, they came from the same flock of crooks as the ones on the administration.
There is a growing clamor to actively and collectively act against corruption with the spirit of EDSA people power. But based on your reactions, you’re like vampires who are being infuriated by the dawning light.
Allan
Its not the issue that infuriates most of us but on how we are treated by the way they played this zarzuella.
Many senators especially in the opposition treated as like stupid people worth taking advantage for their own gain in 2010. And the clergy what are they trying to tell us? that were not heaven worthy if we will not follow their quims. Look at his clergies especially the bishops as if their church has not committed any wrongdoing. Have there church raise opposition when Hitler is slaughtering the million of Jews during WWII, how about the age of inquisition , where a lot of people got
executed because of hearsays, and how about our own experience with this church during the spanish time. Havent our own national hero, Rizal warned us of how devious this church is.
And these bastards are winning, see and read how divided we are now.
Im not a Gloria fan, I also want change. But if the change is for the worst, better let her stay. If you have a bad mother will you persecute her?
Alvin
The reason why the people are mad at what the senate is doing, they only want THEIR TRUTH to come out.

Pards.. kung abogado ako, baka lalong dko masagot ang 1+1=2. he he he he..i object!! its 11!!

Kung kelan nag umpisa ang coruption, right then and there… That only means one thing! my beloved countrymen… Ever since…, De Venecia never had any sincere at truthful service to the filipino people. They kept the truth for such a long time just to protect their own political position, which they can’t bring in heaven.. and for their own selfish interest. I remember when I was in college when he was invited as a guest speaker in Dagupan fiesta, he mentioned multi million projects for the improvement of Dagupan longest bridge that will connect an Island in Dagupan to its town proper etc… But I dont see any of those he mentioned up to now… Lahat ng ginagawa niya, it reflects a lot to what kind of person he is.. and what kind of a government official he is… Isa siyang smelly rat!!! Mahalin mo ang bansang nating Pilipinas Mr de Venecia… our lifetime may not be enough to pursue our purpose on Earth but know what’s most important at the end of the day, bring nothing but goodness then you have serve your purpose well. It’s not the position that you have neither fame nor fortune or comfortable life because you can’t bring them in heaven, change the life of every filipino children in country there is no other way than to bring them a brighter future… think about every hungry children in the country.

G Velasquez… dont think that you are too smart.. You heard that story from the news… these people have their own agenda as well… I believe that there are things that we dont know about all these.. pwededng nagsusucceed na and mga destabilizers.. this is a smarter way to do things di kagaya ni Trillanes.. whatever be the means, tayo kawawa… wag naman tayo magpagamit.. pati mg bata sa public schools nagamit na.. wag naman sana tyo maging masyadong tanga about the issue.. The Cabinet Men I believe they are people with integrity… it is even possible that they may not like PGMA but they stick to their posts not coz of power or money but coz they believe in the rule of law.. these men have visions for the country.. You see, the opposition are there to ditabilize the governement… and they slowly succeeding.. if they suceed then back to squar eone tayo.. AKBAR: Lahat ng sinabi mo pinalabas lang sa news.. grabe ka naman mag condemn and mag accuse.. sino ba nag patunay na talagang na abduct si Lozada?? mukhang you believe tsismis that easily… kawawa naman tayo if everyone’s like that..
tinio
HAMPAS LUPA: Kung mga taong bayan nga matapos iyakan ni Lozada bumigay na at naawa na sakanya.. dun mo maiintindihan pano bumigay sila Atienza sa “bait” ni Lozada… give the men credit naman for being good citizens.. ang sama lang kasi nabaliktad sila ngayon.. O well, God sees all things.. im sure he’ll allow people to see the truth soon..

now that J’Lo after being caught his hands inside the cookie jar is trying to wash them. i hate to use cliche, but we all knew that birds of the same feathers do flocks together.
how come all of a sudden j’lo has a change of heart? at least he is still standing on “terra firme”, he could be have been a ninoy’s de ja vu case.
juan de la cruz once again is on the lossing end of the bargain.
patria adorada now is the land of pinnochios and chameleons not the “hinirang’ once i knew.

Hampaslupa, I agree with you. Lozada is really good in deceiving people. I hope that you’re not one of them.
Alvin

Our problem as people is not GMA nor the presidency, it is in our culture that we are struggling for long time, maybe because the Spaniards and the Church influenced alot the embodiment of the Filipino people..If its the Japanese, or Chinese or singaporean, maybe the Philippines is one of the most prosperous nation in Asia nowadays.
Since Marcos was ousted in 1986, we have succesive presidents, Aquino, Ramos and later we oust Estrada because of corruption and now GMA we are threatening to do the same, but why our country remains poor and our people stucked in poverty and government still soaked in corruption? dont we realised that even we replaced GMA hundred times or even thousand of revolutions, the Philippines will remain the same.
WHY? because corruption is stacked in our culture from top to bottom, corruption is a way of life from mayors, governors, congressmen and senators, even the courts and the police. And we had a church and armed forces who assumed that they have the moral rights to decide who would be our leader..
Why we are just closing our eyes on certain realities? Instead of focusing ourselves in improving our economic life, we tend to spend more time on politics and elections, we enjoyed being downtrodden in South east asia as a weak third world country..
Let us wake up as a people, let us unite and loved our country as no other people will do.

Please, please before you make comments regarding the issue know the facts first.
FACT 1:
1. Phil forest is a semi private department in DENR - it is not directly under DENR therefore it may not have been the prioirty of Sec. Atienza..
2. There are a lot of people under him and given that he has been with that Department for only a few months, it would completely be impossible to know right away if there are anomalies happening in the dept. by the way, i just read in the papers that DENR Sec. Atienza was highly commended by the World Bank for its transparency…
I worked with Sec. under PRO LIFE Philippines and he is a man with integrity.I saw his stand during the pol. crisis in our country and I have noticed that he is consistent in fighting for the RULE OF LAW.. he is and will never be a puppet of any government// THIS ALLEGATION IS PART OF A BIGGER PLOT.. DONT TAKE ALL THAT YOU HEAR AND SEE IN THE NEWS AS IS… THINK… THINK… THINK… PRAY…. DISCERN… This is a dangerous play… lets all be extra careful because the future generations will suffer if we make a mistake today.
pedro
It is embedded in our culture and mentallity to get things the easy way. But not through hard work and smart and honest thinking, but through corruption and stealing. There is no excuse to blame the colonial past that makes what a Filipino is. Just like the Blacks of United States their blaming the ills of their community back to the slavery as an emotional issue. If that is the case then we FILIPINO IS AN INFERIOR CULTURE AND RACE, not competent enough to fight the corruption of our elected official. Not competent enough to work hard in every way. Not competent enough to think what is right to our community and our country.
gen
jhon pala (sorry)i,
lahat tayo me kinakatakutan pero kung haharapin natin yung takot na yun then matapang na tayo kasi kaya na nating harapin yung takot na yun and I think that’s what lozada doing now.
Allan
On the contrary many Filipinos thinks theyre not inferior, in fact they behave like theyre more dominant than anyone esle. Thats why they have to steal and resort to bad deeds just to sustain the lie they put themselves into.
NOW, do you want to be part of their liefull lives? If YES, theres the opposition rallies., if NO, theres your family, waiting for your attention.
Alvin
Allan
If you believe Lozada, its most likely youre also having a hard time telling apart a pissing dog from a shitting dog.
marcy
Pano to, talamak na. Sana meron tayong movement of honest people.

allan’s quotes are very relevant to today’s issues, if you will just try to understand them and relate it to the problems facing the nation, then we might have a grasp of what’s happening. one does not have to be in our midst to be relevant…like rizal, bonifacio, jacinto, ninoy’s writings..
re lozada….the moment i learned that he met w/ ping 6 times before he testified, i know that he is tainted witness. why meet w/ an opposition senator known to produce too many witnesses to serve his interests? why not meet w/ pangilinan instead who is an independent? not aligned w/ gma nor w/ opposition…
the govt. men fell into the senator’s sting, it was a clever trap..(read herrera’s column in mla. standard)
2nd…his truth is selective, he is not telling the whole truth but only the ones w/c will suit his handler’s scenario, that is to pin down the first couple at all cost, parang contrived, also madriaga’s…
3rd…i was a govt. employee before, receiving almost the same salary like lozada, but, i wonder why i was not able to play golf and buy shares like him? it is because, i did not have the permissible zones of corruption that he committed…imagine saying $65M is a permissible bukol? and i cannot send my kids to la salle w/ that kind of salary! where does he get that kind of money to be able to afford that lifestyle? hmmm.
better ask joey de venecia, and the you tube transcript, if that is authentic…
i also was not able to afford an suv like him w/ that salary…
4th…it is obvious lozada is part of the gang, he is the “technocrat” who moderates everyone’s greed. nabulilyaso lang nung loan from china ang nanalo instead of joey’s bot. if bot won, walang jun lozada as “hero”. and joey will not testify in the senate. even though, he is guilty as hell of graft since he should not enter into any govt contract as he is the son of the speaker…
ok, we have learned from the testimony that the zte contract is really obnoxious, and i’m thankful it was rescinded…
but, let us not be used by some senators for their own selfish interests. let us be analytical, prudent in our take on this…
if we want gma out, then, let us be ready for a noli takeover. as one blogger said, life is about taking risks, and accepting noli is one…
(i did not vote for noli, but he is the constitutional successor)
mylene
i really find boses, the public service program tv show on nbn 4 very pathetic. I’m just wondering if thats really their conviction or it’s just because their being paid for their jobs as anchors. Don’t be one sided naman…invite naman somebody on the other side of the fence di lang puro on your side…there’s no question that Lozada has his faults too, but the good thing about it is he is admitting it, and the fact that others have anomalies too doesn’t erase the truth that the administration has committed a mistake that they need to face and answer. Let us here their defense on the issue, let those people answer so all will be cleared, if they are really honest then why scared to face the people, instead of letting rosebud talk about lacson’s ano bayon, or sino bayong bagong head nang philforest talking about lozada’s anomalies, talk about that later, but first let the administration, the president, fg, neri, abalos and the rest face us and answer. After that you can run after lozada all you want!!!!!!! Dont hide beneath the issue by inflating another. Dios ko naman you should here yourselves on tv, grabe talaga.
