Then what?

I AM no fan of GMA. I abhor what’s going on in Philippine government and politics now, but I choose to see things from a higher plane.

I often wonder, if GMA is so evil and corrupt, why is GDP growth the highest in 31 years? Why is inflation in the low 2 percent? Why is the peso at P40.50 [to the dollar]? The problem with many is they think corruption can go away overnight. Why don’t we try to place ourselves in Malacañang and imagine funding a P6-billion presidential campaign, a P200-million-per-senator campaign, P20 million per congressional bet, local, etc., etc. from our own pockets?

We drag GMA out of Malacañang and you think all our problems are over. Haven’t you considered the biggest potential winners in such a scenario are the rightist military or the extreme left? Sadly, we may be playing to the tune of rightist and leftist power grabbers… and unknowingly leading the nation to the way of Burma!

Unfortunately, GMA is about the best this rotten political system can produce. She is a small part of the problem. Someone said the opposition can’t seem to gain any headway because nobody is above the fray. Of course no politician is above the fray. They are all part of this extremely flawed political system. To fix the system, we must first work long and hard to attain an economy that will support a principled political system. The only way there is sustained economic growth. Somewhere along [the way], we change the electoral system so one does not have to steal or sacrifice his/her principles to get elected and do his/her mandate.

After a sustained 10-year growth, for example, government may be able to partially reimburse election expenses. It will be able to pay government employees wages that afford basic necessities and more dignified lives. By then, ordinary Filipinos can afford to donate part of their growing disposable incomes to help elect competent and principled leaders.

My call to media and so-called moralists: Think!

I can sense that “Maria Rachel C. Concepcion or her source of the article once belonged to GMA’s inner circle in Malacanang whose relationship with the first family turned sour like what happened to the infamous “Hyatt 10″. He or she knew the sordid details on how those VIP’s are living their daily lives. In short, this person is revealing the extent of the graft and corruption that is taking place within the four walls of Malacanang. The persons, the figures are mentioned like those contents in a fiction article (without proof but merely statement) and “Ma’m Rachel” want us to believe the veracity of his/her statement? Did she or he expect that the entire nation will create another EDSA similar to what had toppled Erap? Without refering to the evidence on hand even in the simplest form that were presented by Chavit and during Clarissa Ocampo’s witness’ stand, this statement is considered another form of heresay.

How many times this kind of scheme has to be repeated, the last time of which is Lozada’s revelation. Give us even one single piece of hard evidence that such actions mentioned by “Ma’m Rachel” took place and we will do the rests. Without that, you better shot up because your wasting our time.

I’m still hoping na someday ay may isang Pilipino na mamumuno sa ating bansa tulad ng President or Prime Minister ng isang masaganang bansa na namamayani sa ating mundo na di kinulapulan ng corruption at naglilingkod ng taimtim sa kanyang tungkulin. Sabi nga ni Robert Kennedy and I quote, “Some men see things as they are and say Why? I dream things that never where and say Why Not?”.

Hi Mr. Ongpin, nice to read about HM, King Anthony S. Martin and we opened his account details in Bank of America in North Carolina but we’ve been advised by UN and World Bank Group that’s not owned by HM but the Filipino People and let me tell you that HM’s account in Bank of America were quite too big than we ever seen in our life; it’s not only talking and confirmed of Billions of Dollars but more than Quadrillions of Dollars.

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was already shifted her resignation into bulk because she wanted to cheat HM, King Anthony Santiago Martin who is in the line for her presidency, As a King, he has lot of financial resources in fact GMA made her illegal US$ 770 Trillion and Php 890 Quadrillion direct currencies without back up and she wanted HM to guarantee her illegal wrongdoings and now HM, King Anthony Santiago Martin has been watched over depression made by GMA so GMA felt sleepless because she will be eliminated as Head of State of the Islands.

Thanks for the info maria rachel…
Everything you wrote are recycled plots and litany that have also happened in the past administrations..only..the names have been changed..
As long as the Filipinos voters are not properly educated and enlightened.. this cycle of corruption and greed will never stop.
The problem in todays society is, we are only good in attacking the symptoms but always short in addressing the cause. We always come up with far fetched solutions that appears to came from fairy tale books. We are only good in blaming the government but never blame the society that created that government. All the past years, the Philippione society has never matured..its always been “ako lang ang tama”, “ako lang ang sikat” mentality. For what have become of the present administration is the fault of the rotten society we have today. If you want change, you will have your chance on 2010..so stop dwelling on what had happened and concentrate on what can be done, to use 2010 a turning point for a better governement.

    SO THE PEOPLE MAY KNOW

The present artificial rice crisis is a diversionary tactics of Malacanang Mafia and Arroyo Corrupt-poration,Inc. this is an orchestrated attempt to lessen the impact of NBN-ZTE scandal and the Spratlys Joint Agreement controversies. With the scenario of impending rice shortage/ crisis in expense of the inept Secretary Arthur Yap, the Malacanang Mafia is now on counter-offensive to totally eliminate the so-called “enemy of the state” pertaining to the opposition and various cause oriented organization who vigorously call for GMA resignation.

Time and again, the triumvirate of “sinister political geniuses” namely of Ronaldo Puno of DILG, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, and Norberto Gonzales of National Security rescued the scandal-tainted GMA regime during the peak of public indignation brought by the NBN-ZTE whistleblower Engr. Jun Lozada. The main strength of GMA regime depends on the triumvirate of Puno -Ermita- Gonzales and the other personalities of Malacanang Mafia and Arroyo Corrupt-poration, Inc are only on the supporting role. The AFP and PNP loyalty to GMA is highly attributed to the triumvirate because of the “loyalty bonuses” and other concessions they have provided to the military and police hierarchy.
Aside from “loyalty bonuses” among the AFP and PNP hierarchy, they have received huge open-ended budget on modernization which is part of the concession. Huge budget on modernization only means more money for the AFP and PNP hierarchy.

The triumvirate of Puno-Ermita-Gonzales earns the trust of GMA and FG for a number of occasions, their influence on GMA and FG are beyond recognition. Their brainchild strategy and counter-measures on various scandals have help GMA regime to survive the political turmoil since 2001. Because the formidable triumvirate of P-E-G is still strong and united, GMA will finish her term in 2010 and beyond.

THE P-E-G TRIUMVIRATE MAJOR CONTRIBUTION TO GMA REGIME

Sec. Ronaldo Puno is also known as “master tactician” and seasoned negotiator, he is a well-known friend of the Arroyos ever since the political career of GMA began and also a known friend/ supporter of former President Estrada. His vast contact and connection to the local leaders’ governors, congressmen, mayors and alike prior to his appointment as Secretary of DILG makes him the right man to assume the role of “messenger of hope and promises” to the Traditional Politicos (TRAPOS) in exchange of GMAs vow to push thru with the Charter Change and decentralization which is only an enticement in exchange for local leaders loyalty and stanch support. He is also one of GMAs adviser who persuades her to run in 2004 with a promise to secure the presidency in her favor.
With GMA, FG, Puno-Ermita-Gonzales, and Garcillano and with the support of AFP and PNP and Malacanang Mafia, they have created a covert plan to secure the presidency. This includes sourcing of election funds in whatever forms-GSIS/ SSS/ PCSO/ other illegal funds, prearranged cheating, black propaganda against FPJ and other presidentiables, wiretapping and political harassment and etc.
FG role is to source more election funds, Sec. Puno heads the group which will manipulate the Comelec results with help coming from Garcillano to tamper election returns; Sec. Ermita heads

the media brigade, Sec. Norberto Gonzales supervises the wiretapping and orchestrated the military for back-up and support for the intended cheating.

One concrete example of how important Sec. Ronnie Puno to GMA is the latter presidential pardon given to former President Erap which is his idea and his demand in order to return the favor to former Pres. Erap who have help Sec. Ronnie Puno a number of times. GMA can’t resist the appeal of Sec. Puno even though the result of her action will result a major rift between GMA and former ally, Gov. Chavit Singson not to mention the further decline of her trust rating and popularity. With the said pardon, Gov. Singson have distance himself from GMA.

Sec. Ronnie Puno vast influence among local leaders also resulted to JDV ouster and thus elevating the role of Congressman Prospero Nograles to the Speakership, with the help of Congressmen Mikey and Dato Arroyo, Iggy Arroyo Sec. Puno has muster the support of Members of the Lower House to clamor for change of leadership without a legitimate basis or apparent issue. The said “loyalty packages” to majority of Congressmen include financial considerations and priority project funds for their respective districts. The testimonies of JDV son to the NBN-ZTE scandal is a mere chance because Sec. Puno with the blessing of Malacanang Mafia already decided to boot JDV from Speakership as early as June 2007.
Sec. Puno masterplan was again supported by GMA. The rift between JDV and Sec. Puno started with the vision of Parliamentary form of Government before the term of GMA expires and the merger of CMD-LAKAS and KAMPI which JDV decline because his party will be under KAMPI under GMA, Sec. Puno and Congressman Villafuerte. GMA entrusted to JDV to do all legal means within the boundary of Constitution to change the form of government from Presidential to Parliamentary. With the said grand plan, JDV have been provided all-out financial support from GMA and Malacanang Mafia to ensure the success. But after many attempts, which all fails Sec. Puno blamed the failure to JDV because of his other vested interest including his ambition to secure the top position if ever the system of government will be Parliamentary. With verbal arguments and heated exchanges of words, Sec. Puno reminds JDV of his failures will cause his current position in the lower Congress and end his political career. The heated arguments between JDV and Sec. Puno occur everytime the Malacanang Mafia inner circle holds meeting to discuss the merger and other political issues and to counter all impact of various scandals facing FG and GMA regime.
Prior to NBN-ZTE scandal, Sec. Puno have already plotted an Oust JDV campaign as early as 2006 . The problem with JDV is his inability to know his real enemy. He is very confident that GMA is on his side come what may.
But then again, Sec. Puno succeeded in ousting JDV and forming a stronger political party which he is one of the founders.

The idea of “unity walk” and call of support is also his brainchild, he directed all DILG provincial Directors and instructed local officials to do their part in any form to show support to GMA. A fund for “loyalty and support” was provided among local leaders including propaganda funds, pro-GMA rallies, media ads and others. The government shoulders the transportation and accommodation of local officials from governors, congressmen, mayors, councilors and even barangay captains from their respective provinces to Manila and vise-versa. The funds were provided by the Office of the President.

His contribution during the 2004 election is so great, that whatever he proposed and asks to GMA and FG is immediately provided.

And what is in exchange of Sec. Puno loyalty and steadfast services to GMA and FG?

We have seen the clearer picture, the merging of CMD-LAKAS and KAMPI is inevitable. A stronger political party of GMA which Sec. Ronnie Puno belongs to the hierarchy only means one thing - political power beyond 2010.

Sec. Puno is as sinister as GMA, not to mention huge amount of money deposited to his bank accounts regularly which was provided by the Arroyo Corrupt-poration, Inc. He knows that being head of a stronger political party of KAMPI/ CMD-LAKAS will further expand his influence among local leaders which is synonymous to power and more money. He has no other concessions or political ambitions aside for eventual political appointments even after GMA
terms ends but a firm and clear manipulation of local politicos. With enormous power as party leader he is on the vantage point, a political power to last beyond 2010.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita is known as GMA propagandist, his brainchild is the creation of a covert media brigade entirely different from Malacanang Media Group and Office of the Press Secretary. With collaboration with Sec. Ignacio Bunye, they have formed a call-center type media brigade. The main purpose of the said operation is to counteract any negative impact of various scandals and controversies, minimize public outrage and resign GMA clamor which the Malacanang Mafia and Arroyo Corrupt-poration, Inc. is the culprit.

The operation is a well-equipped and well-organized and located in three locations; two (2) in Manila and (1) in Cebu. The media brigade is located in PNP compound.
They have vast resources funded by the Office of the President and Presidents Intelligence Fund.
They have text brigade, blog brigade, tv-print brigade and other mass media form. Their primary role is to monitor all television station, radio station, newspaper and other media group and immediately create a scenario of “silent majority”. The operation is of great help to GMA because it lessens the impact of public opinion and creates divisiveness among various conflicting group.

They have also patronize the “divide and conquer” strategy wherein the divisiveness in public opinion created by the Malacanang media brigade and eventually diminishes the momentum of public outrage in any scandals and controversies in GMA regime.

The PCSO’s TV ad of GMA self-glorification and phony economic figures and indicators is also under Sec. Ermitas responsibility.

Aside from being GMA top propagandist, Sec. Ermita also help Garcillano to elude arrest and public condemnation by hiding Garcillano; after his arrival from forced travel abroad, Garcillano who is the “brain” of 2004 massive electoral fraud and cheating was temporary sheltered by Sec.

Ermita in his home turf. With the help of his relative, the Mayor of Balayan City and a very trustworthy close-in security who also from Balayan, Batangas secured Garcillano. Garcillano stays in Balayan City for almost three months; all his needs were provided by the said Mayor with full security by his assigned protector.

The same scenario is almost identitical to NBN-ZTE whistleblower. The same forced travel and provision for close-in security was also given to Engr. Jun Lozada but unlike Garcillano, Engr. Lozada opted to come out in the open and speak for the truth which resulted to another public clamor of Oust GMA. While Engr. Lozadas life is now in total mess not to mention continuous harassment and security threat, Garcillano enjoys the comfort of Malacanang protection plus bonuses in the form of monetary rewards.

With Sec. Ermitas contribution, Malacanang Mafia have enough time to immediately launched a counter-offensive measures including tampering of Garcillanos passport, relocation and replacement of electoral returns, bribing the electoral majority of congressmen who are pro-GMA, legal front to delay canvassing of electoral returns.

And what is in exchange of Sec. Ermita loyalty and steadfast services to GMA and FG?

Sec. Ermita’s loyalty to GMA and FG also has its price, Sec. Ermita business interest is in full swing especially in Batangas. He and his relatives, through various dummy companies is on buying spree of prime industrial lots in the new industrial zone of Balayan, including joint venture in port development project as alternative to Batangas City port. With his influence and surprisingly huge financial resources, the Ermitas are now a political dynasty in the making. And such political and business interest only means more power and more money.

The last local election in 2007, wherein the son of Sec. Ermita runs for Vice-Governorship position in spite of a being a neophyte only shows a clear sign of Sec. Ermitas influence in Malacanang Mafia. The campaign expense of his son was well funded by Malacanang and Arroyo Corrupt-poration, Inc. despite the outpouring of financial support, the younger Ermita loss the position of Vice-Governor on a slim margin. And despite the loss, the young Ermita earns a huge amount of money from political contributions.

Beyond 2010, Sec. Ermita and his political-dynasty in the making will be a major political force to reckon. They have now the financial resources to launch a province-wide campaign for top positions thus protecting their business interest.

Sec. Norberto Gonzales, is the most sinister among the triumvirate. He is the one to be avoided, his typically shy and soft-spoken personality is different from who really he is. He is the “ Ominous Intellectual” and the man behind the “GMAs luck and survival”. GMA trusted Sec. Gonzales so much that he provided not only all financial support but also authority to supervise special operation and to handle various “government secrets”.

Surprisingly, Sec. Gonzales has no concession or whatsoever with GMA and FG. He has no business interest and political power to protect. His penultimate dream is to change the form of government from the present Presidential to Parliamentary, being the head and president of Socialist Party of the Philippines His ideology of local government equality and decentralization
policy is the only answer to the current problem of our country and unless the government set-up is not transformed into parliamentary through whatever constitutional means, he will be loyal to GMA and allies beyond 2010.

Sec. Norberto Gonzales brainchild includes the Venable Contract and other lobbying contracts with various US Lobbying firms to get US support to push through with Constitutional Charter Change, the acquisition of wire tapping equipment to further enhance the wiretapping capability of the state to monitor personalities especially the opposition and civil society groups (most of the wiretapping equipments, GPS, surveillance system was purchased in last quarter of 2003-funds was provided by the Office of the President), the creation of “watch groups” composed of military and police to monitor various personalities who are anti-GMA, creation of political crisis scenario, “mastermind” of political killings and forced disappearance, and creator of various secret documents and OPS to avert any political crisis.

His most crazy idea during the height of public outrage on the ongoing NBN-ZTE scandal is to create a political crisis including a scripted assassination plots of GMA, carryout a real assassination attempt of one pro-GMA senator and blame the incident to the opposition, bombings in various Mindanao urban centers and declaring a state of emergency wherein the whole country will be place under military and police control for six months depending on the situation. But the said state of emergency is not a full declaration of “Martial Law” and they will legally defend the would-be Executive Order as a constitutional mandate of the President to guard the state from power grabbers.

During the Feb. 29 inter-faith rally, the inner circle of Malacanang Mafia immediately hold a command conference in PNP compound to monitor the situation, in the event that the said inter-faith rally spontaneous amassed a huge support from the masses they will immediately put into effect Sec. Gonzales “crisis scenario”. But things did not happen the way they expected, because such plans will only resulted to chaos and bloodshed just because of GMAs continuing clinging to power, the Presidency which never was belong to her.

And what is in exchange of Sec. Norberto Gonzales loyalty to GMA and FG?

With so much power and authority in his hand, Secretary Gonzales only wants one thing-to realize his dream of a modern Philippines under a Parliamentary form of Government. But he was blinded with the realization of new Philippines because of his concept of eliminate the enemy of the state at all cost to pursue his vision.

When he joins the Cabinet of GMA, he was promised to help pursue the vision of progressive Philippines under a new form of government. And ever since, he became an action man for GMA. He was blinded by power and forgotten his real intention of serving the country.

Unless the triumvirate is with GMA, no political noise or large rallies will force her out of Malacanang. The triumvirates are geniuses on their fields and all their actions contributed greatly to GMA continue survival.

Other major personalities in Malacanang Mafia and Arroyo Corrupt-poration, Inc. are:

Congressman Ignacio Arroyo – The overnight multi-millionaire is so lucky to be entrusted by his power kingpin brother FG Mike Arroyo the multi-million Jose Pidal account. The said money is so huge that half of it was deposited to various accounts in Hongkong. Cong. Iggy Arroyo is now enjoying the role of major politico in spite of his being a neophyte, the luxurious lifestyle provided by his ever-generous brother. Aside from Php 200M in cash, Iggy is expanding his business interest all over the country including venturing in highly profitable shipping business.
He is also a major role player in the Lower House, together with the two Arroyos Mikey and Dato; they are considered the “right persons” to talk to for each lawmaker’s countrywide development fund (pork barrel) which was also confirmed by JDV during his privileged speech.
He is a well-known gambler and womanizer after the fortune he amassed from his brother. With so much money and power, he is opting to run for governorship of Negros Occidental in 2010.

Congressman Mikey Arroyo – the eldest among the GMA sibling, he is the making of his father. After only a two terms as a lawmaker, he is already a traditional politico. He is the “genie” and make-believe Speaker of the Lower House because of his ability to unite loyal supporters for her mother. With various concession and cash gifts, they have been able to hold a solid block that enables them to oppose any attempts of impeachment. He also works with Sec. Puno to convince and bribed majority of congressmen to oust JDV and elevate Speaker Nograles.
His wealth is also unexplainable, in span of only 5 years he has amassed Php 100M in cash and deposited in various bank accounts and not to mention other business interest which he owns or as a majority shareholder.
His 2010 ambition is to take the top position of Pampanga and expand the Arroyo dynasty.

Congressman Dato Arroyo – This younger Arroyo seems to idolize his father and older brother, as a neophyte solon his been able to assert himself as a major political power player. “So young and yet so corrupt”, the idea of running as a lawmaker in the far distant Camarines Sur only shows how influential the Arroyos in the local level. Totally unknown but with FG’s money and influence he won a landslide margin.
His role in Lower House is similar to his brother as a “mediator” Dato is not as greedy as his brother and FG for he only runs for the said position to protect their interest. But in the coming days, Dato will eventually molded into FG and Mikey.

Mike Defensor-the former DENR chief who was also chief negotiator under Sec. Ermita and Sec. Ronnie Puno. His vast wealth is of unknown sources except for being the head of DENR who approves mining contracts to a number of foreign mining firms during his stint.
His multi-million wealth is the results of hefty commissions from various mining contracts he approves during his DENR days. His rift with Executive Secretary Ermita has resulted to division in Malacanang Media brigade.

His senatorial attempt is also mind-boggling for having a well-financed campaign funds in spite of little financial support from Malacanang Mafia. Currently he is still belongs to Malacanang Inner Circle and acting as Public Relations and Media consultant.

Sec. Ignacio Bunye- His mishandling of Garci tapes wiretapping scandal lessen GMA trust to the former mayor and congressman of Muntinlupa. His wealth was accumulated during his stint as local officials. He is the local version of Pinocchio but the wealthier version. He is the right man of Executive Secretary Ermita to handle and supervise the covert Malacanang Media brigade.

Commissioner Ben Abalos – His reputation being a “commissioner” started during his stint as Mayor of Mandaluyong, his cohorts in various hocus pocus and diversion of city funds, ghost employees, ghost deliveries and ghost projects is her former budget officer who instantly became a multi-millionaire.
Commissioner Abalos also received a huge amount from the winning bidder of counting machines for the acquisition of Multi-billion peso election counting machines.
His role in 2004 election makes him the best buddy and confidante of FG thus a SC decision acquitting him for any scandal is highly controversial and questionable.
His assets are numerous from trading, agri-business, construction, food and etc. you name it; he has every business interest in town especially in Mandaluyong. He has a multi-million peso prawn and milkfish farm in Zambales, trading companies who supply the City government of Mandaluyong from letterhead to office equipments/ machines to civil works construction.

Sec. Lito Atienza – the trying hard former Mayor of Manila and now DENR head is identical to Commissioner Abalos in terms of hocus-pocus and being corrupt local officials. His slogan “Buhayin ang MayniLA” is nothing but a mere propaganda. In his three terms as Mayor of Manila, the city coffers is always on budget-deficit, the city revitalization and beautification program is full of corruption. He amassed so much wealth during his stint as Manila Mayor that he is trying to pursue his senatorial ambition, but to his dismay despite of his self-glorification image, various media gimmick to increase his popularity and an avid supporter of a well-loved boxer…his popularity rating remains low after conducting numerous surveys for his chances in the national polls, thus eluding his dream to become a senator. With Php 200M in cash for campaign funds, and claiming that it is his own money? He is trying to attempt again the mayorship of Manila in 2010.

Sec. Raul Gonzales – the ever controversial Justice Secretary is only protecting their political and business interest in Iloilo, and he is too old and too sick to pursue another local position. His support to GMA and FG is part of the “guilt factor” to defend GMA legitimacy at all cost. His political influence in Iloilo is diminishing making his dynasty in shambles in the coming election. His loyalty and as a staunch defender of GMA and FG is only to secure continuous funding of his son’s priority projects in order to secure a stable hold in his present position as representative of his district.

Chairman BF – he is known as political enemy of GMA before prior to his appointment as MMDA Chairman. The Office of the President provided an open-ended budget to Chairman BF to pursue his goal of beautification and Urban renewal. Thus more budgets means more money,

his net worth is almost Php 3Billion and counting and enough to launch a national campaign for his presidential ambition. BF efficiency as local official is only limited and he will never be an effective national leader, his authoritarian rule is infamous in Marikina and his gimmicks and ingenuity in the road improvement programs having caused a lot of deaths and accidents. His loyalty to GMA only for one reason – political ambition and party support in 2010.

Bro. Mike Velarde – this self-proclaimed evangelist/ preacher is also a cunning businessman. Not for faith or love for country, but for money he always convince GMA that his support and all of El Shaddai flock will be of major importance in GMA presidency. Not to mention “block voting” during elections with a corresponding tag price referred to as “donations”
GMA has provided Bro Mike financial consideration in the form of “donations” for his support and “unity statement”. With so much money coming from donations of his impoverished flock, political contribution and profits from his various business interest, almost Php5Billion is deposited in various large banks; Bro Mike is the epitome of a false prophet mixing religion with business and political influence. He is one of the richest among the Malacanang Mafia, Inc.

Congressman Luis Villafuerte – This chameleon and trapos is now enjoying the political power of being a top leader of newly formed political party of KAMPI-CMD/LAKAS.
His the personification of a traditional politician who amassed so much wealth even his constituents suffering from extreme poverty. His business interest is so vast and includes a multi-million export-oriented company (Laras Gifts and Decors) which is now under his son’s full possession. The father and son tandem of Cong. Luis and Gov. LRay have made the Camarines Sur into an impoverished province. His loyalty and support to GMA and FG is to secure their vast interest in business and politics and to strengthen their political dynasty in CamSur.

Gen. Hermogenes Esperon – The ever loyal and guardian of GMA presidency. His role in 2004 election is only the beginning of his “loyalty services” to GMA and FG. He enjoys the trust and full support of GMA for his crackdown of military upheaval. His promotion to AFP top position is questionable, but with his charisma and draconian action Gen. Esperon has been able to unite the whole AFP to support GMA with various concessions. Among of them and hidden among lower ranks: “loyalty bonus” of Php 30,000/mo. for Captain and Major, Php 50,000/ mo. for Colonels and Generals not to mention provision of new service car for each selected military ranked official; huge budget in logistics and modernization; huge intelligence fund; expanded retirement benefits; key government position of their choice upon retirement and most especially full execution and crackdown of insurgents including the so-called power grabbers.
The military has never been active than before, they have helped the PNP for counter intelligence and surveillance of key personalities of the opposition and civil society, they have been provided additional funds for other covert and special operations courtesy of GMA and National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales.

    to be continued…

Even the world’s largest economy ay may recession ngayon because of OPEC. Imagine the oil price of 115 USD. Despite these economic gains, GMA failed to convert it to more jobs, cheaper food prices, cheaper fuel prices. Why? Because all these economic gains are only in papers! They are floated by GMA minions to disguise Filipinos of the reality, that is, we are in deep sh.t!
    ___________________________________

Our country has been suffering from decades of neglect and poor governance. We are so low now in terms of economic profile that majority of our people are below the poverty line. It will definitely take a generation or more for most of our countrymen to feel the pulling up effect of macro-economic growth. There is no magic wand solution to the poverty problem in our country. We all have to increase our patience and long for the long term because the economic benefits of the current phenomenal macro economic surge will not immediately be felt especially at the grass roots although eventually, if sustained, it will be.

The adverse economic state of our country is being aggravated by the extremely intense and bestial politiking in our country. The opposition are perverting everything that this current administration does, even the media is not blameless. Let me ask you: “When was the last time that the government received accolade in mainstream media for anything ’satisfactory’, even policy wise, that it did?

None. In fact even the macro-economic gains that we achieved is being trivialized, sometimes by “parachute economists” and worse sometimes by tsismis-tsismis.

    Islandwatcher Says:

The reason for the higher GDP for RP is due to the increased employment of Filipinos in the middle east. The arabs are hiring more Filipinos because the price of crude oil went over $100 per barrel. But now the economies of the US, Europe, Japan, China, India, and Brazil, are expected to slowdown. Then price of crude oil is expected to drop significantly and the result is that the arabs will be hiring fewer Filipinos and other third world migrant workers. Expect the GDP for RP to decline next year and beyond.

Gerry is correct about when Filipinos have enouigh disposable income, then they can buy the politicians of their choice. Unfortunately the current situation is the reverse. Because the voters are poor, the politicians are able to buy their votes. Therefore the politicians do not owe the voters anything but contempt. Stealing from the the government and the peolple is then permissible because the politicians bought that right from the voters.

What a shame! A beautiful country, a beautiful people… we owe it to God to do better than this. Yes, we pride ourselves to be the only Christian nation in Asia, but we are “Catholics” in name only. We do not really practice what we teach. Start with the 10 commandments for example, especially the 7th? Yes, Spain itself disobeyed this and pillaged our country…What an hypocritical model! Is it our religion our downfall? Why did the Japanese who were non-Catholics do the same thing to our country? Do we blame the Americans then? Marcos? Aquino? Estrada? Whoevers in between? and now Arroyo? Do we keep on blaming others?

I think we have to look inside ourselves. Are we spiritually inspired enough to rise over our past; to be better than our parents and our grandparents? To actually practice whatever good our religion teaches; to actually be the “light” amongst our neighboring countries? Is this the moment? Is this finally the time?

We Filipinos have a high tolerance for pain. That’s why our biggest export is compassion (nursing). This is intangible and innert in us. Maybe it is a lucky product of our Catholic religion - we actually practice the first four commandments? The rest of the world seems to be lacking in this now (compassion). Our human nature fits the high demand. We go away to another country, hoping for better income, but we always keep that sweet spot in our hearts of our beautiful motherland! Hope she will still be there…

Well I tell my kids, it’s a beautiful place, but just a rotten government. It’s a mismanaged paradise… until our tolerance breaks?

To Maria Makiling,
Sa aking paniniwala ang dahilan kung bakit humiwalay and dating mga cabinet members ay kasi akala nila mapabagsak na talaga si PGMA so it’s more of self preservation. And I beg to disagree when you said na ang mga Pilipino ay di nag-iingay kung hindi nagugutom, hindi naghihirap o nakararanas ng harrasment o oppression. Sa palagay mo ba naghihirap at nagugutum sina Erap, Cory, Lacson, De Venecia, Binay, Pimentel, Villar, Madrigal etc., kaya sila nag-iingay? These people have vested interests, they want to grab power at all cost kahit pa magkawatakwatak tayong mga Pilipino! Gusto nila sila na naman.
Do you honestly believe these Senators conducted these series of investigations in “aid of legislation” to end corruption? In the first place are they not also themselves suspect of being corrupt? Think of their billion of pesos budget and ask yourself how many laws have they enacted for the betterment of our people. Sa daming oras na kanilang ginugugol sa mga imbestigasyon in aid of legislation ni isang batas wala pa silang nagawa. So is it not very obvious that they just want to gain media mileage and to project themselves of fighting corruption to bolster their chances in the coming 2010 election.

You should organize yourselves into a political party and directly take part in governance. Our rotten system will certainly not change if you’re always whining in the streets. Always preferring to criticize everyone in power rather than dirty your own hands in Government.

I for one honestly believe that some in the throng of people I always see on TV in Mendiola are more than capable of effectively running the affairs of the Government. The tragedy is that their minds are caged in outdated che-revolutionary mentality.

    Then what?

And Thai military love for their country is overwhelming after the coup d etat they immediately form a take-over govt and initiate a national election asap. With those instances, Thai economy is stronger than ever parang walang nangyari because they are for peoples welfare and protector of the best interest for Thailand. Imagine PM Thaksin is the man behind Thailand economic transformation and only one corruption scandal ruins his reputation as a good leader.
Dito sa atin, patong patong na ang scandal, anomalies and controversies pero marami pa rin ang patuloy na nagbubulag-bulagan at manhid sa karaingan ng sambayaan at patuloy na ginigiit na si gma ang still best option, and siguro kung gusto natin na patuloy na danasin ang paghihikahos at paghihirap gma is the best options with the help of malacanang mafia and arroyo corrupt-poration.
If she is morally incapable to lead our country, lets initiate regime change for our countrys future not tomorrow but now is the time. Maawa ka sa mga anak mo kung tunay kang nagmamahal sa bayan and then what? A better Phillippines for us and our childrens future.

There is no such thing as best president. Let’s not put the cart before the horse. Hope is what we expect. To say categorically that there is no one to replace PGMA as reliable president is wrong. I will vote Congressman Satur Ocampo. He is a practical man, and I believe that he will not squander the nation’s coffer to placate the church, the lower house, the local government unit, the military and police, just to stay in power. He is a no-nonsense guy. And he is humble. Unlike the oligarch, majority of our politicians, Congressman Satur Ocampo was voted out of sincere desire of the Filipino people for someone who will work for their cause, aspiration, and welfare.

If I am not mistaken, he was formerly a professor in U. P . Diliman. Unlike ExSenator Angara who has sold his soul to the devil, Congressman Satur Ocampo never lost his sense of value. If we stay vigilant against government abuses, we may have someone like Cong. Satur Ocampo as our President. We may have a second chance of another Ramon Magsaysay.

I think Gloria is suffering from what I call “transition Presidency syndrome.” YOu might as what the the hell is that? Well its a term I coined for the administrations after our two successful “Edsas.” It is a political situation marked by an alarming level of partisan-hateful-politics. Usually the near chaos atmostphere in this political stage is a conscious effort of the “removed” (the politicians dethroned by the Edsas) parties who are out to destabilize and attempt to remove the “enthroned” president. This situation is inevitable given the rashness and harshness of the removal of the previous administration.

The good news is that in our previous transition administration (Tita Cory) the destabilizers did not prevail. Chances are the destasbilizers now will not also prevail.

Having heard of the good news the “better news” is that relative peace and proseperity happens in the post-transitional administration (remember tito Ramos?). Yes, I’m an optimistic animal!

I am no fan of gloria either. My problem with this whole economy improving is this: I can’t feel it. Nor can my family. I belong to what we may call the “middle class,” the supposed main beneficiaries of this supposed improvement in the economy. I however, still struggle to make both ends meet. Why? Because even if I already earn a substantial amount, the cost of living is even higher! And you say that the economy has improved?

If you can’t feel the economy of this country going up it’s because your spending way too much on the things you “want” and not on the things you actually “need”.

Go easy on the Starbuck’s coffee and the texting.

Out of the 90 million filipino’s out there 30 million have cellpone’s and if everyone spends a peso of each texting everyday that amounts to almost a Billion a month and that’s just for the thrill of a stupid quote.

What make you think you well have jobs later on…Have you ever think of that? I guess not. If you can tolerate all her corruption then I guess you deserve what you’re getting.

Getting good jobs and keeping it is not the government’s problem, its your responsiblity already(good grades, good credentials, etc = employment). The government’s role is to provide the backdrop and not everything. As for corruption it will always be there in politics, you can only minimize it. One way you could minimize it is voting competent leaders of this nation of ours. It could have been worst you know, like having a movie star running our country again. Who will live like a movie star without accomplishing anything, except for popularity. Democracy is overrated in this country. Start reading political books and you’ll find out that the most efficient leaders are those who aren’t bound by “morals” and that doing the right thing is very different from doing a good job.

They’re stealing the taxespayer’s money to inrich themselves. Not atleast you don’t know that. While most of filipino people go to sleep with empty stomach these idiots are laughing all the way to the bank.

You don’t get it do you, its a figure of speech not pertaining to malacanang. But to us filipino’s this is exactly the kind of attitude that’s not helping us “bahala na” Now if you are going to take it literally. Would you live in ashes and rubbles? knowing that its a rat that your chasing it would have moved to a different house already when everything is burning

  75. 138
    GoodmorningSir Says:

Reality check: Euthopia can’t exist in this world, you have to make do with what you have and if you are going to put “morality” in everything you are bound to fail( try doing that with your wife) especially in politics. Politics is never clean and if you’ve experienced being a leader of some sort you will always be faced with the decision of choosing the lesser evil. You can’t be friends with everybody because if you start to, you’ll be doing their job and not yours. That’s why some people get promoted and some people are stuck with drinking buddies. If by any chance you think that taking president out of the picture solves the corruption problem in this country you are dead wrong. Ask yourself this “would a bank robber stops if she’s out” not a chance. Corruption stops if we start educating ourselves and not being bought on election days. People in this country blame every problem they have to the president,(if they can blame it to God they would to but we are God fearing so we don’t) even if our problems are the results of our own doing.Taxi drivers blame their bad income to the president all the time, and you just might agree with them until you realized that many of them are opportunists and cuthroats, clearly giving them a bad reputation affecting their income because you’d rather ride the bus next time than be there victim. These simple problems starts with us not the other way around. Don’t just rant and complain all the time, be part of the solution. And about media i have to agree with what he said, media don’t think but we do, so don’t let media dictate to you what is right or wrong, these guys are leeches and they make profit out of people’s demise, calamity, etc. and that’s bad no matter how much they tell you that it’s for the sake of freedom. True freedom should never overlap the freedom of others.Media in this country don’t understand that. They neglect their responsiblities for the sake of profit. They don’t respect boundaries and they are setting a bad example to the masses, very unprofessional.

If what you’re saying is true then why is it that Lozada, Cory, Erap, Binay, Lacson, Madrigal, Bishop Cruz, some media personalities, the 50,000 who join the anti arroyo rallies are not missing nor they rot in jail and still very much alive? Certainly, you are lying…

Its been proven in court of law that Erap didn’t steal the government coffer the only reason the judiary convict him to protect Gloria Arroyo, From her stolen power.

If you don’t believe me, Check all relevant document the truth is there for everyone to see.
