I BELIEVE that the Makati rallies play an important part in awakening the real feelings of the Filipino people.
The true sentiments of disgust and loss of trust in the government must be expressed, must be shown for the entire world to see. This GMA government and all its henchmen will do all at their disposal to prevent and stop all negative sentiments that our people will manifest toward them. Even a “no-fly zone” over Makati where the rally was being held was suddenly declared.

Allan, good to hear from u. I thought u would not survive ur second lobotomy. I was against that from day 1, mind u. As it is, it will just prolong ur agony. I knew for a fact they couldn’t make a lawnmower man out u, it was pathetic for the doctors to even try. I mean with just half a brain that amounts to so much less, it’s hopeless for them to even try. But I digress.
I know now that morons like u couldn’t differentiate between right and wrong, much more about GMA and a real president (Gma is an embicile, u see). But please rest now, u have yet to recuperate!

Pogito, wag kang pikon. lalo kang papangit, ikaw din..
GMA is still standing no matter how short she is, she is still standing tall.. And what about the opposition senators who tried to nail her to their fabricated stories, well they started losing pogi points, hence they change tactics and started endorsing beauty products to keep their faces visible to the public. So move on Pogito, try the beauty products your favorite senators are endorsing, it might whitened your skin and may also enlightened your big empty brain. Cheers..

Bungangaraw, what a name for an idiot!
Lies have to be exposed for the truth to come out. For people like you who thrives on deceit, this must be unacceptable as it would be a threat to your way of life.
If I say Allan is brain dead, or ronald is a moron, or abbygail is neither here nor there, I have merely stated a fact. I’m sorry but as you must know, the truth really hurts.
I can’t help but say this guys: GMA sucks!!!
And for the record, i am not arguing with you. I’m just saying how it is.
By the way Bungangaraw, it’s ok to be obnoxious. Who the hell would want your approval. Ang tanga mo naman talaga!
April 30th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
bungang-araw & partner (like a law office, haha!)…..we should leave pogito alone, because he thinks only he is not a moron, and everyone else is. sige na nga ;-((
allan, ronald, tasyo, alex, matsing and the others…i can empathize w/ you and your thoughts about our nation and politics. i know that everyone, including pogito only wants the best for our country. but, we should all work together, and not use the blame game, w/c will lead us nowhere.
April 17th, 2008 at 7:14 pm

April 10th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Mr Henry Soliveres, the food crisis is a world wide event. Not even the powerfull nations like USA where you are now are spared by this crisis. Mortgage crisis hits the USA very bad that its nearing recession, americans are loosing their homes and living in the streets, is that caused by Jojoc or by PGMA corruption. Health care? isnt it that a 7-year old Filipino tourist who had an accident in Florida died in the hospital because the parents has no medical insurance. How many million Americans has no medical insurance? Is Arroyo also to be blamed for this?
What the govt wanted is not to close your eyes against corruption but in times of crisis isnt it more prudent if they started working together to fight the crisis for the common good of the Filipinos.

lozada should be tried in court & be jailed.. no one is above the law. ang taong katulad nya n confirmed corrupt ay dapat mabulok s kulungan. may witness n nagpptunay s pagkabulok nya at suportdo p ng dokumento. bkit d paimbestigahan ng media at mga senador ang taong yan? kasi kakampi nila? nkktwa cla..
April 9th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
To MC_90: When you say GOD, are you referring to GARCI? Brain dead morons like you and ronald doesn’t seem to know the distinction. Which is understandable, brain dead that you are.
The same applies to Gloria Maca-PIDAL!

This is my personal reaction/comment on the “Arroyo: People need food, not politics” which I’ve just read tonight.
* No rice on the table because of the Jocjoc Bolante’s fertilizer and farm input scam/charitable project for the congressmen, governors, and PGMA’s selected symphatizers
* No computers for the classrooms and health clinics in barangays due to funds sucked by PGMA’s favorite people involved in government contracts such as the northrail and southrail projects, etc.
*No computers for the comelec due to former Chairman Abalos” electronic technology expertise on counting votes
* Encouraging investments so that her administration and cohorts could continue sucking dry the people
*People really need to be informed of any current scams unearthed day-in day-out by concerned individuals/groups which was previouslu kept in a vault
I hope PGMA would not be that selfish to deny the Filipino people to see the light of hope and adhere to truth.

Pogito your treatment is going south..youre getting worst. Now your acting like “Malu Fernandez”. Whats wrong with OFW’s living in a “stinkin corner in Al Attar” are these OFW not human to your standard that they dont deserve to be respected…tsk..tsk..tsk. Pogito, one reason why you have a job and why youre company is staying afloat is because of these “stinky” OFW’s in Al Attar that patronise your company’s business. Remember, Pogito, “what goes around comes around”.
For your contentment, I’ll follow your advise, I’ll stay as what I am now. I couldnt imagine myself having youre kind of rotten disposition. Seriously, you should seek mental help…

To Alex Reyes: Keep denying the truth that stares you in the face. The way to move forward is to tackle head on the current evil in malacanang. Everything else is irrelevant. Even you, especially you.
Ipinagmamalaki mo kung nasaan ka, but for all I know you are in some stinkin’ corner in Al Attar! Andito ako sa Greens, behind mall of the emirates. Shame on you man!
To Alvin, Natros & Allan: Stay as you are guys. In passing, you both might have serve your purpose. Morons that you are that people should not emulate the folly of your ways.
March 24th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Kudos to the LEVEL-HEADED Allan, Alvin and Natros! May your tribe increase! The society needs people like you who are expressing coolness and objectivity.
UNLIKE YOUR HOLLOW MATE WITH A SUREFIRE HOLLOW HEAD WHO KNOWS NOTHING BUT THE DEVIL!
Maybe he’s a worshipper or his family belongs to a cult? QUITE POSSIBLY! He( or perhaps a thirdy???) knows who he is and is the exact opposite of the closet blog name.

Pogito,
The truth is Pres. Arroyo has not yet been proven guilty of all the accusations leveled against her in any court of law and since we are a democracy, she is still presumed to be innocent unlike your idol “Erap” who was proven guilty of plunder and your hero (Lozada) who admitted of doing corrupt practices and of having another woman and children.
If in the future the President will be tried in a proper court and found guilty, it is fine with me. But ousting her through mob-like rallies and trial by publicity to me that is not acceptable because it is unconstitutional and therefore illegal. I urged Filipinos to use reasons and not emotions and to uphold the rule of law!
March 22nd, 2008 at 1:28 pm
So Pogito even during the Holy Lenten Week you cant control youre rage and name calling. Pogito, people like me, Natros and Ronald donot condone Glorias corruption, we never denied thats shes corrupt. What we can’t accept are the stupid reasonings from people like you who have no foresight, who doesnt learn from previous mistakes and now telling us what is right and wrong. Look at the mirror Pogito and youll see a hundred Cory, a million Erap and a zillion Gloria in you. So stop bickering who is corrupt or not , who is just or not, because definitely the character you showed in this blog demonstrate that you are no better than the persons you are accusing. Gloria is probably a great lier but certainly youre a greater lier, that you deceived yourself to believe that you are more righteous.
Its Holy Week, so reflect so that youll find the real truth. Start by learning how to pray properly.
March 20th, 2008 at 10:48 am
You got it right matsing, anti-gloria people have nothing more in mind because they’re losing their patience and nothing is happening to their half-crazed crusade.
Bad mouthing will not get them anywhere right in any interviews on TV and in radio. Even in this blog roll, some bloggers’ mouth here really smells like the pig’s end.

and just look at how they conduct the hearings, is it in aid of legislation? no…in aid of 2010.
i agree w/a blogger who noted that most senators who were voted in 2007 were the ones who were always on tv, ie. cayetano, escudero, villar, etc. they who were dishing out just about anything anti…basta ma-interview lang!
people….please be more discerning now! look at all the senators who are almost eating the microphones for breakfast!
they want to be president! and lozada? he wants to be a senator! and erap? of course he will run as prez again, and mind you, he might win, goodness sakes!

The facts are quite simple: GMA is corrupt. She stole the Presidency thru GARCI. She lied through the skin of her teeth evrytime her hide is in the line. Her husband is PIDAL. The first family is first only when it comes to stealing!!! How much more should she steal before the filipinos say its enough?
GMA could fool all the people all of the time, only if all the people are morons like Ronald, Natros and Allan. Unable to grasp the true meaning of corruption and the extent of a tyrannical rule that stares them in the face, they’ll take everything with a shrug - believing everything is a punishment for their own pathetic and miserable existence.
Guys, dimwits like you are never to be blamed for anything. Brain dead people like you should be left alone and left to rot in a stinking corner.
Dementia is getting the better of what’s left of these people’s pathetic almond size brain.

Correct Jing-Jing. Nice observation. Right now, souls of those priest are with satan for accusing. Just make sure that they make a confession to Cardinal Vidal :-))
Hey Ping Lacson! Do you have any plans to do anything else? Galit ka sa magnanakaw eh mas grabe ginawa mo sa “Kuratong” Dont even think of running. Coz we might as well look for a corrupt President than a murderer like you. Baka if you’re the president, papatay mo na lahat. You always wash hands on everything. Give GMA the benefit of the doubt.
Erap, i feel babalik ka sa rehas. Too bad for you. Your timing is bit, lets say….Off! (Ibon lang may layang lumipad?) Yeah yeah, but it seems you can’t fly because of your athritis.
Anyways, to all opposition….celebration is over. People have seen you now. Hope you get your votes on 2010.
Good Luck.

Prayer rallies are good. Be glad we that in a democratic goverment we can do these things. We are not communist yet. But this administration is confused and has conflict of interest which must be addressed by the people.
Whether corruption was involved or not, betrayal of our countrymen (Kapwa Pinoy) is involved. NBN ZTE deal involved the lifeline communication of the government. Hand made in Mainland China with an ideology oppose to our democracy. Surely, Mainland Chinese officials will infiltrate and take advantage of this. Ask the Chinese Yahoo dissidents, Tibetans, people of Darfur… Jose Maria Sison is happy….. Mainland China will be a neighbor just west of Palawan…… see the conflict of interest……. What happened to India, Singapore, Japan, or PLDT (they can provide a working technology) ….. we can have the network not hand made by Mainland CHina. THe administration might as well invite Fidel Castro, and change the party to NDF Lumakas…… And to think that in a Malacanang statement which stated that the president has assasination threats from the communist rebels……. Gising na tayo Pinoy……

How can the “Heroic” purpose of the anti-gloria people of bringing down PGMA because of a perceived corruption involvement if these people’s mouth smells like a wet market’s sewer.
I read here in this blogroll and in the news, Anti-Gloria are chanting words like these:
1. Evil
2. Evil Dwarf
3. ” masusunog ang kaluluwa sa impiyerno”
4. “Unano”
5. “Pandak”
6. Devil woman
7. bitch
8. Evil family
9. dwende ( Bishop pa yata ang nagsabi nito! Por Diyos Bishop!)
Just to enumerate a few.

If even the PRAYERS are twisted just to express disgust on PGMA, maybe the person’s character and breeding is degraded as it is done in bad taste.
Name calling, sarcasm, and now twisting the lines of a prayer will not collect the submissions of the readers rather it will only give a negative picture of the person using these kinds of insinuations.
Just express distraught on the issue such as corruption and not to resort on individual attacks that should only be in the confines of a private room.

I do not condone corruption. However, I do not want that our President will be ousted through mob-like rallies. If ever your hired witnesses gathered sufficient evidence then by all means bring it in the proper court of law so that they can be cross-examined and the truth will come out. We are a civilized nation and as such are governed by existing laws and constitution and not by the laws of the jungle. Enough of political bickerings…Majority of Filipinos want peace and order and stability.. I hope you understand!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Where’s the proof? Why don’t the accusers go to court? you and the others defending the administration ask, sounding like a broken record. We will get there soon enough. Perhaps not in the next two years unless Gloria is ousted before that. Witnesses are being suborned, harassed or threatened. Documents are being hidden. Cabinet members who have direct knowledge of the offenses are told to invoke executive privilege.
But when Gloria exits in 2010, and possibly before that if there’s justice in this world, the whole can of worms will be exposed. She will by then have lost her immunity from suits. Abangan . . .
March 12th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
To Pogito,
It is your ideas which is full of malicious insinuations, suspicion and hatred that seem to be like cancer cells and ought to be cut off so as not to spread and cause a destruction of our society. You want to bring down GMA at all cost just because of hearsays and unproven allegations. You’re so angry at alleged corruption yet you speak nothing against the self-confessed “corrupt”, and womanizer Lozada and the proven plunderer, babaero, sugarol “Erap”. To me you’re nothing but a hypocrite.
I do not condone corruption. However, I do not want that our President will be ousted through mob-like rallies. Youre mistaken that we are brothers, only you is sired by the devil. Its very clear who is evil here, mocking prayers is one of the devils past time.
The truth is not lost, its clearly seen, heard and read over the TV and papers. The senate can’t prove anything, theyre are still on a witch hunt. Mocking the institution they represent, wasting tax payers money, promoting laziness among Filipinos by keeping them glued, watching their stupid circus in TV, corrupting their minds with lies and deceit, instigating anarchy and sow hopelesness. Thereby, limitting their productivity, lessening their income, undermining their progress, hence they stay poor and easily bought during elections. And they dont stop there, they release another evil in the form of Lozada to corrupt the minds of our youth. Only the devil like the senators and Pogito can muster such a hideous plot.
You can’t cure a sickness (corruption) by cutting off the symptom (Gloria), to effectively treat it you have to destroy the virus (corrupt mentality, Pogito, et al) that causes it.
Pogito by being what you are now, you really owe your children a lot. And acting like you have a brain, can’t repay them. Do the human race a favor, stay as a monkey and stop thinking your human. Focus your effort to your dwindling habitat.
March 11th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Don’t let the truth be lost in the lies of GMA. Anyone who mistakes God for GArci, who promises not to run on the grave of Rizal and breaks it, who lies with a straight face, is not worthy of holding the highest position in the land. Surely, a country of 85million people would not claim that there’s no one better than the evil dwarf currently occupying malacanang! We owe it to our children to make the stand now. Bring GMA down at all cost. If we have to cut an arm to cure a cancer, so be it.
Now, going back to some cockroaches:
To Alvin, you’re not just crazy. you’re stupid as well. I bet you cannot tell the difference between a cat and a mouse, you pathetic little retard! If you cannot feel the truth, see the truth, hear the truth, sense the truth and discern the truth, it no longer is the truth at fault. You keep denying a lie that stares you in the face. Brain dead people like you are not expected to make a meaningful contribution however, so you could get away with that.
To Allan, don’t be so hard on yourself. Morons like you aren’t expected to make some grand acts. Thinking for you must have really hurt. Allan, the greatest trick the devil played is siring the bastard that you are.

Also, where is BANTAY BATA ng ABS-CBN???
Hindi ito kakagatin ng ABS-CBN, on the issue of children in the anti-Arroyo rallies, kasi Erap and Binay will not like it, pampadag-dag din kasi sa rallies ang mga bata!
All of these for the sake of “Gloria Resign” call, shame, shame, shame!
March 11th, 2008 at 9:33 am

Why not we try “lie detector test” among them, GMA, her husband, Abalos and other, and even Lozada. Let’s see who is the “REAL LIAR” among them. Kung ayaw magpa lie detector test means they are guilty. Good idea.. right?
Hindi basta tama na sabihin na wala silang alam about sa mga allegations at sasabihin na let’s forget about the issue and let’s move forward for peace and unity. I agree to what the lawyers says, please don’t stop until the truth comes. Posible kayang umamin sila? Sa dami ng taong involve about sa NBN-ZTE deal scandal tapos sasabihin nila wala silang alam and those are just all hearsay? yun mga spokepersons ni gloria totoo kaya na talaga wala silang alam sa totoong nangyayari sa malacañang? bakit nga hindi nagkakaroon ng live press conference si gloria so the media can ask a direct question live? Kasi dito sa United States basta may issue about sa kanila agad agad may live press conference. common press…..pursue it!! ask GMA and others to have a live press conference let’s see how they will react.
Sana lang kung mapatunayang nagkasala sila, they will all go to jail to a real jail at hindi basta mabigyan lang ng pardon after all the time and effort at the trial. Just like what happen to ERAP.. so that will be a lesson to the next President…

Emily we can’t have the change you want not unless the society also changes. A corrupt government is a product of a similarly corrupt society. As long as there are people who are willing to sell their votes this cycle of corruption will not end. If the Filipino people will find a respectable, uncrorruptable Presidentiable, no amount of cheating can beat him if everybody will vote for him. 27 Million to 1 is a hard odd to beat. If you will support a good presidentiable, make sure you also vote the other candidates in his ticket, this is the only way we can assure that he will not be force to sleep with the enemy to get his good program going. The streets is not the correct way to achieve change. We shouldnt also let our children be used in the rallies by these irresponsible schools. Theres a proper place and timely lesson for their education, and the street is not one of them. You dont teach calculus to a 6th grader. If we let these trapos and their disciples corrupt the minds of our children, then expect this cycle of corruption will not end. Remember, the greatest trick the devil ever played is to make people believe that he didn’t exist.

That Interfaith rally held in Makati sure was tainted and full of political vultures so it ended up a FLOP as usual.
Though it may be the biggest anti-Arroyo rally so far but what happenned was that the true-blue rally attendees who just have simple sentiments on the corruption issue WERE FED TO THESE TRAPO PERSONALITIES’ POWER HUNGER, the likes of Erap, Cory, Maceda, Binay, Guingona and others who attended in the flop rally.
Next time, those who wish to attend these rallies must check first where, what, who will be in the rallies, because these innocent rally attendees are just adding to the joys and whims of these Trapos. DONT BE A DUMBER, BE WISE!

It’s really sad to think of what’s happening to the Philippines. How can we be proud of our country? When this will end? When will be the time were we will have a government with clear concience to do whatever is right to do as public official? Can we still hope for that? Never ending corruption, never ending charges of corruption and is there anybody admit that they did corruption? Is there anybody being punished and have been put to jail? to a real jail? If an ordinary man who stole a can of meatloaf just out of hunger will be put to jail for a month, how come a government official who stole a million of money will not go to jail? Because the ordinary man has no money to defend himself but at least he is not a liar. Where is justice in this country?
I really pray for the Philippines that one day we will have a government who has the heart for our countrymen and will only used the money for the people. During every election, they always say that they want to help the poor, showing a street children in their advertisement means that they love these people and will help them once they are elected. What is our qualification to be the President in this country? just be a Filipino citizen? But, why if we are applying for a job, a lot of qualification: age, gender, experience even they say has pleasing personality. What do you mean by pleasing personality? Physically? Morally? Do we have this qualification for the President of the country or any position in the government?
God knows the truth, we can lie to people and make different stories but we can’t lie to God. God is watching over us, to all of us and in His perfect time, He is ready to punish peoples who do evil. I might be an ordinary citizen but I am really praying that God will show His mercy to our country and will give us leaders who has concience and who will really lead our country the way they should be, who will not corrupt even a single cents from people’s money, who will really help the poor especially our street children. I hope and pray that time will come the we will be proud of our President, our government and all other public officials.
Can you imagine a street children, beggars, old peoples, who beg money just to have any food for a day and imagine how much money being stole to our government instead of using that to help them get out from the street. We can’t always blame their parents and say that they are lazy. At least the government has to do something else for them! Did we ever had any program to get them from the street and bring to any place where they can have a real life and food everyday. How many old people we can see on overpass, MRT station, underpass begging for money or for food? How many street children begging for coins? selling something on the street just to have some money to buy their food for the day? Children who are collecting garbage for 2 to 5 peso coins? I remember when I was in North Fairview, a girl aged between 4 to 5 years old with her younger sister, they knocked at the gate of our house asking if we have garbage that they can throw and so we can give them any money for doing that. That day we have a very big heavy watermelon that is not really sweet so I want to get rid of that. I told them I have garbage but I know they can’t carry it coz its too heavy and they are very little to carry that. I asked tham where is their cart so I can bring the garbage myself, but they say its not there so they have to carry the garbage somewhere coz the cart is somewhere, so I have no choice but to give them, I remember I gave them 10 peso coins and I watched them while they walked away. The older girl carry the very heavy watermelon in a plastic bag but she fell on the ground many times and the smaller girl just walking behind her. I really cried watching them and I feel sorry for giving them the garbage watermelon maybe what I should did was just to give them the 10 peso coins and not give them the heavy watermelon.
It’s really amazing how many people posting their comments and opinion on internet ( especially in Youtube where you can hear the “Hello Garci” tape) showing their anger to our government to the President especially this time of a lot of scandal, mocking the President, cursing the President. Its true that’s how they feel. I might have anger too in my heart but cursing will not help maybe praying and asking God to help our country and show His Mighty Hand to whoever government official who did wrong in the government. That the next President will have fear to do any wrongdoings next time because they realize that God really punished evil people.
We want to be proud of our country and our President and our government, but how? Tell us how? Of course I am proud of some of our culture, being hospitable, our shyness sometimes, being a people of character and still a lot of our culture we can be proud of. God Bless the Philippines and our people!!!!! God bless our brave reporters and all people who are not afraid to report and reveal the truth about what’s happening to our government. God Bless everybody!!!!!!

I wonder why those senators are so eager to become president when being senator is much easier, they are not the executive branch: no program to execute, just investigate this and that. Di ba nila alam that by making the situation awful, they will inherit a bad state when they themselves become president? Or they don’t care because they have so much money anyway, that these are all just game for power this time?Poor ordinary Filipinos, caught in the middle of power struggle of your politicians…
March 7th, 2008 at 9:02 am
Im avid supporter of Madame Corazon Aquino during her fight gainst the Marcos dictatorship and all those years of her unstable reign as transitional president..BUT I was so disappointed to see her in front of the Makati rallies with a corrupt and immoral Erap Estrada.
If we looked back, she misses the opportunity to cleanse our corrupt political system after Marcos downfall, the momentum where she can ruled with revolutionary government to overturn the country and completely reform the country…and now, she’s siding with once she condemned Estrada??
I don’t think Ninoy Aquino will be happy If he’s alive today, seeing his widow will be among those “trapos” he hated so much!!
March 6th, 2008 at 11:40 pm
like most of you here, i am suffering too from a malaise called edsa fatigue. hence, another edsa does not appeal to me anymore. but that does not mean i want corruption to continue. no. like what one blogger has said, minimize the risks. and another people power is a disaster for the economy. we all want what’s best for her. let’s wait for 2010, just like what the americans are doing, wait till nov 2008 to boot out bush, even though his ratings are so low. no people power in america…
March 6th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Ordinary Filipino, we have the same sentiments.
I feel the media is inflaming the issues. These are the media who are not reporting the truth. NOT BALANCED. They just want to report what they they think will create more controversies and chaos. BUSINESS as usual.
Be responsible.

EDSA 1 WAS ENOUGH. EDSA 2 WAS TOO MUCH, EDSA 3 WAS POISONOUS THAT KILLED PERSONS. EDSA 4 IF THERE WILL BE, WILL BE A DISASTER THAT WILL BRING IRREPARABLE DAMAGE AND DEATH TO THE ENTIRE NATION. As a Filipino, what do you want?

A Silent Observation and Comment on “ZTE NBN Scandal”
I’ve heard a lot about the “ZTE NBN scandal”. This issue is being discussed and sensationalized everyday on televisions, radio, newspapers and other media facilities. I become impatient about this issue! Our past experience (EDSA 1 & EDSA 2) must serve as a lesson to all of us….I believe that we are still immature in demonstrating our freedom….Oh! Come to think of it…? Is the freedom that we inherit from our heroes: Good or Bad?
We, Filipinos are the one who puts our country in a quandary situation…. We are the one who makes our “Native Land” degrading. Comedy videos I’ve seen from youtube and televisions are very nauseating, humiliating and disgusting. Do we know that because of this other foreign countries maybe mocking and laughing at us? It is what we really wanted?
This issue is always the main focus and given much attention. Why we do not focus on things that will make our country better off? I don’t say that we should forget this issue. What I want to emphasize is that we have so many problems in our country. Not only that ZTE NBN scandal. Programs and projects of our government that will help uplift and gradually solve the problems on economic, social and infrastructure should be given much attention. As a true concern Filipino citizen, we may try to contemplate this question: how can we help in realizing the projects and programs of the government in developing our country? Absolutely, rallying in the street is not the solution. It makes the situation even worse.
If Madam President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will step down….So, what’s next? Rally again and again in the street if the new president is also corrupt? Huh! Democracy and freedom should not be like this! May be, it is time for us now to end these demonstrations (rallies). PLEASE….How can we move on and attain the objectives in improving the lives of our co-Filipino people if the situation remains the same? We will always be in a hopeless condition.
In the end, I want to say: whoever the president is, we (Filipinos) do not have contentment in our heart…. “OUR CONTENTMENT IS UNFATHOMABLE and DEVELOPMENT OF OUR BELOVED COUNTRY WILL BE UNREACHABLE” …. WE ARE DEVIDED BECAUSE OF OUR OWN SELF-INTEREST!
WE SHOULD ASPIRE FOR A PROGRESSIVE COUNTRY….
WARNING: IF THE SITUATION IN OUR COUNTRY IS ALWAYS LIKE THIS…? THEN, WE SHOULD EXPECT THE WORSE…..PHILIPPINES WILL BECOME POORER AND POORER…!

Reason why its hard to choose a leder=
“A good politician is quite as unthinkable as an honest burglar”. - H. L. Mencken
Reason why I dont join rallies-
“A politician is a fellow who will lay down your life for his country”. Texas Guinan
Reason why I dont watch them in TV also-
“Everything is changing. People are taking the comedians seriously and the politicians as a joke”.- Will Rogers
Cory and opposition new tactics-=
“If you can’t convince them, confuse them.”- Harry S. Truman
Reason we hate politicians-
“In third world, an air conditioner is called a ‘politician,’ because it makes a lot of noise but doesn’t work very well.”- Len Deighton
In 2010-
“Never vote for the best candidate, vote for the one who will do the least harm.”
- Frank Dane

The best people to replace GMA are the Filipino citizenry themselves that are stretching their bones, scratching in their grind spot and thinking of better opportunities to enrich their lives.
Seriously taking these political acrobats is equilvalent to taking too much sleeping pills resulting to an OVERDOSE!
Let us all search for our goldmines, Life is really that short guys!
March 4th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Pacquiao-Marquez fight is upcoming, lets challenge the opposition to organise a major rally on this day, same time as the fight, even its a Sunday, and see if they can muster a crowd. Probably a huge TV outside the Mall of Asia showing the Pacquiao-Marquez fight will have more crowd than the last interfaith rally. Think!
March 4th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
To use the students as a tool by the trapos for their personal gain is a greater crime than what GMA has done. Thats why we build schools, pay for teachers, so that our children will be timely educated and not get their education in the streets. If the government is corrupt the society that surround it is more corrupt. You got Gloria in Malacanang because the same corrupt people that wants her out put her there.
March 4th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
I BELIEVE that the Makati rallies play an important part in awakening the real feelings of the Filipino people.
-Bong Cendana, original post
i would like to agree to that bong. that the politically charged and highly hypocritical interfaith rally displayed the actual feeling of the people about the noise that has been badly plaguing us to exhaustion.
the feeling of indifference. the drive to call people to the streets is overwhelming and so is the response smack of cold shoulders from the “silent majority”.
the feeling that the superficial underdog JLo although effective in presentation is still a person with questionable motives and morals.
the feeling that the opposition is just so divided and so busy with their 2010 vision.
the feeling that a lot of our madre and pari were duped.
the feeling that students no matter how they present themselves to be discerning still they do not value the idea that truth is about listening to both opposing sides. (just thought about Columbia university students inviting ahmadinajad or even hitler to speak and not just the protagonist all the time.)
the feeling that the students are the real losers for being the tool of some body else’s political agenda.
the feeling that organizers can only boast 100K and yet failed to deliver.
the feeling that all of this is a farce and nothing more.

i am for the scrapping of the eo 464, so that the truth will come out.
i also want neri to tell all at the senate, and i want him to tell the whole truth, not selective like joey and jun. you see, neri was a former protege of jdv sr., in gina’s words, parang anak nila si neri. i hope neri will not protect jdv, bec. everyone knows, jdv had a hand too in many deals, like the north rail, for one.
like everyone, i am tired of the political grandstanding of these morons…imagine having cory and erap in one stage!
as the writer before this wrote, pray and work, bec. praying alone won’t work…
March 4th, 2008 at 7:23 am
Saying that Executive Order 464 is barring resource persons from revealing the truth about government controversies, Vice-President Noli de Castro on Monday called for the abolition of the controversial directive from President Arroyo.
———–
Gloria Arroyo, Is not going to abolis EO#464 because thats her protection from the filipino people who want to find out the truth. If she’s going to abolis EO#464 and her cronies going to tell the truth she’ll be dead meat because she’s the one the brain on all the corruption that is hounding her bogus regime. Mabuhay ang mga kawatan.

These rallies will not materialise if nobody is funding it. If somebody funded it for sure its his/her, their interest at the forefront and not the interest of the “masa”. Have you heard of a simple sidewalk vendor organise and pay for a 15T rallyist with a rally permit from Makati City Hall? I guess not. These events tells you something, if you couldnt get it, you need help. Call me at 1-800-NEED-HELP, and we will talk about your case.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:14 am
Sad to see but the political landscape has gotten too much discord. It’s not an interfaith rally but a mere political grandstanding of the oligarchy. Aquino is a leader of democratic institution and Estrada is leader of the pro-poor. But had turn their backs to once they have truly instituted and reformed. It is ironic to see Aquino are now aligned with Estrada when she was one of those who supported the removal of Estrada from the presidency and also supported Arroyo’s ascendency to presidency. Turn of events has been regrettable observing Aquino’s moral conviction becoming a plausible denial. She either had to distance herself to Estrada or lead her own moral revolution to win back the trust of the public.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:44 pm
As the bishops now said Interfaith is not political, then it is nonsense. You cannot rally against politicians but still being non-political.
The good bishops look like jumping on the bandwagon of protests since it is opportun to call for truth, with all the undeniable corrupt activities. But at the same time they want to remain open to join the winner of the battle, no matter who will it be. If it is the opposition, the “we rallied against GMA” and if it is GMA, then “we never called for your ouster”.
It is good church manner. Big Sin has been visiting and dining with Marcoses when he already plotted against him. The super religious Ateneo Deans put full page loyalty statements to the media while they let their students lead anti Marcos rallies. When Newsweek published reports and pictures, the students have been advised to sign protest letters. The church will always wait for a final decision until they know who will win. That is why their rally should be tagged as non-political, even the whole matter is highly political and involves practically only politicians. As very well educated people, bishops know vell that praying will not change anything, no matter how many people pray how long. The bible, if one believes in, said “ora et labora”, pray and work, not stop working and pray that heaven will do what you should do. Big Sin did know it very well, therefore he was actively plotting to oust Marcos and Estrada, not just praying for their resignation. And who will oust GMA by praying when GMA claims that she is God-sent as President and always ask God what she should do? God cannot support both sides. If praying would help, then police and military would be ordered to pray against protesters, not threatening to use all their deadly arm to suppress protests.
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:22 pm
What a political hypocrisy seeing Cory and Erap holding hand together. I felt nauseated.
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:13 pm
I think last week’s interfaith prayer rally turned out to be more as an “interfaith hypocrisy”.
Just looking at the rallyists slogans and the personalities involved smacked of sheer hypocrisy. Most of them, we already despised and rejected during EDSA 1 and EDSA 2. How come people then jubilate when these very same corrupt and inept politicians went onstage and denounce the administration’s graft and corruption? Do we cast a blind eye to them and embrace them just because we have a more urgent goal of removing GMA?
First, they said it was all for prayer. Then you saw Binay, Cory, Erap and the other trapos took advantage of the media mileage by making political pronouncements as if they were the most honest and incorruptible people in this part of the planet.
Then, the so-called religious people who pretend to be the most holiest people in this country. Prayer must be sincere and without malice. As it is, there’s too much hatred in their supplications.
God forgive us all!
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:41 pm
i am not saying gloria is clean… but there is no real conviction now if you will join the rally & call for another people power unlike the edsa 1.
He was once part of the system which he allows before for sometime. Huwag niyang sabihing walang katiwalian sa hinawakan niyang position sa DENR. ang mas masaklap ngayon e nagpagamit pa siya kay Lacson na mas malaking question mark ang pagkatao? sana kung buhay pa si Daser malalaman natin ito di ba? by allowing this Lozado is also a devil and trying his best to act and dressed like holy in a very short span para mapaniwala na naman tayo na people power ang solusyon… tapos ano susunod? meron bang mababago? Manahimik na lang ako and wait for 2010.
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Nag put-up daw ng funds for the whistle blowers… baka may pera dun na galing sa nakaw ha at masasamang pinagmulan… baka maging Corrupt money for the anti corruption fight… hehehe.. IRONIC ano…?? PINAS to tsong…. Gaguhan lang!!.
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:17 pm
very ironic isnt it??? most of the comments here says otherwise… siguro nga yung nagsasali sa mga rally di nakaka access ng mga information like those in these web site (inquirer.net) lahat nga siguro ng disisyon nung mga sumali sa rally ay dahil sa propaganda for the rally or black propaganda for the administration.
KAWAWA..
March 3rd, 2008 at 6:47 pm
On interfaith rally: Look who’s talking?
It means only one thing. They just want political power. Gustong maupo, by all means.
Sumisigaw ng magnanakaw, kasama nila mandarambong.
Hypocrites!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:36 pm
I think last week rally doesn’t make any impact in our political system but to our businesses… nkita lang ntin ngpapogi mga Trapo… I saw from one video.. may banner na malaki saying, “NO TO TRAPO RULE..” pero cno ba andun.. mga Trapo… bkit sa Ayala pa? dahil ba ito un finacial district? dahil ba ito ay to destabilize not the Government but our economy… gusto yata nila bumagsak ulit un ekonomiya ng ‘Pinas… interfaith rally? e mukhang mga activist bishop lang nman un andun… saka J is L movement… i guess Eddie V is already a politician.. kumandidato n cya last election eh.. hinaluan p nina Erap at Cory… mukha ngang interPolitician rally un nangyari… npaka aga pa para mangandidato!!! pati mga estudyante… kinaladkad… ala nga nman pasok…
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:30 pm
POLITICIANS, these lot are a bundle of strange bedfellows, strange because one used to rally for the downfall of a convicted corrupt leader, and now they sit side by side to cause yet another downfall of an incumbent leader. By this action it only implies that the masses are prey to their grand scheme of things. Never mind if Filipinoes starve to death, so long that they profit and maintain their hold on power. Filipinoes, WAKE UP and decide your own fate, STOP yourself from being dragged into getting their (politicians) own personal agenda. THINK on your own and do away with herd mentality, because Filipinoes are ACHIEVERS once we put our minds into it.
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:49 pm
I agree with the views of Estong, Filipinoes would rally for just about anything, but we never gain anything from it except losing a great part of our time, which equates to loss of labor and productivity. Looking towards our more progressive Asian neighbors, where rallies rarely or never occurs, see and compare their economy to ours. It is a shame that Vietnam, once a poor economy will surpass Philippines in a few years, and you might wonder why they are now better off, it is simply because you do not see people on the street waving banners and shouting slogans decrying their low income wages. Or putting their personal interest before national interest, it is sad to say but I believe most of us Filipinoes are nothing but a bunch of free loaders. We always yearn of what others have or possess but will not work for it, or once it is given to us we do not know how to work on it and make it productive. More than 20 years have passed, yet it is still the same worn down slogans and banters that you hear on the street, except the names that keeps changing. The same old propaganda, use of poor and children, red paint, clinched fist, church and clergies, rabid politician, etc… Why do we not focus all this energy towards positive work and be more productive and to earn from an honest days work. PEOPLE GO HOME and attend to your family AND WORK to earn and support your growing family.

Hello superwoman, become a senator or a congressman so that you would know why they need to go.
Work, work… wag kang magintay ng donasyon….
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Rallies for what purpose? I am in favor of ousting the corrupt Arroyo, but teka, sino ipapalit natin? All politicians are the same bananas over a different balat. Yung iba kala mo matino, pero pag binalatan mo buwaya laman.
And why are we not seeking to remove all senators and congressmen? the bishops, Manalo, Velarde, etal? corrupt media practitioners? They are all, one way or another, are contributing to this country’s slow demise.
These should be the ultimate purposes of the rallies para hindi lang tayo nagsasayang ng pagod.

Our House of Representatives has completely surrendered their “dilicateza”. Instead of separation of power between Legislative and Executive branch, they practically forgot that their loyalty should be to the Constitution and to the people. How can you justify, Mr. Congressman, (about seventy of you), joining the ‘bitch’s’ journey to Europe while pending bills is a waiting in the so called “august chamber”? Or shall I call your chamber as “BUTCHER HOUSE”? Ii is in your Chamber, where you slaughter all attempt to empeach the ‘bitch’. It is also there where you approve the more than ONE TRILLION budget. Tell me, Mr. Crocodiles, where will you get big amount. Borrow foreign loans at the expense of the citizen? God save the Filipino people!
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:47 pm
I wish Our National Security Advicer, Mr. Norberto Gonzales will one day thrown to a dangeon (without toilet) and let him live for a thousand years. It is his idea that cause the death of so many Filipinos. His dastardly act transcend any ideology. May the souls of the victim rises up and lynch him. The brothers, the mothers, the sisters, the friends, those that were dastardly kidnapped and executed by the lap-dog generals and policemen, the vigilante, and the cafgu.
I also pity our Bishops who professes moderation in time of CRISIS. 90 PERCENT of the population is starving and a the verge death, and you say “hinay hinay lang?” Por Dios por Santo. Padre, where is your sanity?

Corruption will be here to stay.. kasi naman.. during elections… ang tao sa pilipinas naghahanap ng pera… ibinibinta mga boto nila… so ano i-i expect natin sa politiko.. eh babawi yun..

Lozada telling the truth??? hmm, selective truth maybe..
Lozada was telling about the bribe because he cannot anymore take the magnitude of it..?? hmmm.. hindi kalang siguro nabigyan ng magandang share… besides, small or big, its still corruption no matter how you defend it.
You wanted to save your soul so you come-out in the open and expose the old truth—-(people and our government is corrupt.. everyone knows it from the time of the former presidents up to now)…?? Hmm.. tell us about your extra marital affairs and all the corruption you have made…expose it all!!!
You think you are in the hands of clean people, ?? hmmm.. think again, even those who are harbouring you maybe guilty of corruption either(even the relegious cannot say they are clean)…
JUST THINK PEOPLE… corruption are here to stay… presidents will be elected or will be overthrown.. but corruption will remain… IT IS US, the corrupt people of the Philippines who is the problem… not only the president..
Corruption begins at home….. It is a picture of how our society is… What we see in the big picture comes from our own houses…
Change from within people… and we will see significant changes in our society…
Changing leaders wont work…. believe me.

These rallies will do our country no good.We are a nation of gripers. Lets face it, all politicians will do money on the side. The question is, will they do it while uplifting the economy or just for the sake of their own pockets. Useless people too lazy to think for themselves.

ang ibig mong sabihin its okay if Gloria Arroyo/cronies keep robbing the government coffer for as long as is not going to effect you. Walanghiya ka rin pala.

I strongly disagree that the rallies are any good for the nation. they are only good for the politicians who cannot wait for the elections and would want to take a shortcut to that approach. That is the agenda of the politicos and the sad thing is, the people are being used in the process, because they are too lazy to think for themselves and let these twisted politicos think for them. If we always let our feelings of dislike for the government run its course, we will never prosper as a nation, rather, it will be our downfall and probably we will be the poorest country in Asia. As Leekwan Yu said, too much democracy is bad for the country. Rightly so, since there would be no discipline, rallies here and there, disruption of work.
Look, all these senate investigations almost always lead to nothing, not even being filed in court, dont you think it strange? Mag-isip naman kayo. Dont let these twisted politicos think for you and then adopt it as your own. Dont be tunnel visioned, look at the history of the other countries regarding corruption etc. Look at their past histories and you will understand. It always happens, everywhere. But the bottom line is, do they also uplift the economy or just fill their pockets?I would prefer the former.
………………….
You’re absulotely right when you said the politician can’t hardly wait to change the leader. What the different now and then. Is it not the same thing? Gloria Arroyo, Can’t wait for Erap, To finish his terms in the office she kick him out without any due process of the law. pareho din yon! you say, Is not right? why so? Because you’re her supporter’s, And not Erap, Supporter!

I think rallies are good to the country, theyre one form of income for the tambays. And also think of the livelihood of the street vendors that will benefit from this. And also good for the media people, hirap yata humanap ng scoop ngayon, para pam pataas ng ratings.

What we must show to the whole world is how we Filipinos uphold the rule of law…not the lynching mob mentality borne out of our hatred for something or someone we dislike. Everybody wants to know the truth and that’s what we should all strive to achieve. Let the legal processes take care of this truth. Not the street protests that affects not only our country’s image around the world but also our economy.
We should voice our protests in its proper perspective. Yes, we’re fighting against graft and corruption, but should we allow Erap Estrada to speak for us, he himself an epitome of corruption during his time? Is this the time for political and ideological realignment just for the sake of convenience? Does praying together with so much hatred in our hearts serve its purpose?
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:29 am
Expressing one’s disgust will not solve anything. By now we should have learned our lesson that protest and rallies alone do not bring about the changes we need.
No matter who we give the government reign, mapa-opposition man o sa mga righteous clergy it will always be the same crap. Why? because our society is broken.
We pray too much yet do so little. God will only help those who help themselves.
Lozada knows it, it is the inevitable, once our anger is gone it will be business as usual. It happened with Apo Lakay, it happened with Cory and Erap (imagine magkasama na sila sa rally ngayon), and I bet ya it will be the same with Gloria.
I’d rather waste my time going about my business at least me konti akong naibibigay sa mga empleyado at pamilya ko.

Expressing ones emotion alone will change nothing. We keep blaming the government for all our problems y

If we remove GMA outside of the legal means, military intervention will be inevitable as all those ambitioning to replace her whether leftists, rightists or centrists will never give way. This will be everybody’s game where the strong and the mighty prevails.

Give us a break!
If you have seen the “Anti-Arroyo - Gloria Resign Protest” last Friday so-called “Interfaith Rally”, it was a political one and not religious. Except for a few misguided nuns and priests, media has clearly devoted airtime in reporting the presence of disgraced former presidents, grandstanding politicians, so-so movie & civic personalities and boisterous militants arrogantly shouting for the President’s resignation disguised as “fighting for truth and justice”. It’s pathetic. They can’t resist the limelight, can they? What happens next? More rallies? I say stop all the noise, bring her to court and establish her culpabilities through an impeachment process, not on the streets. We have done that during Erap’s time, whom once also dominated both Houses of Congress with his minions. Give our institutions a chance to work, that is the essence of democracy. That’s how it should work. There is no quick-fix solution.
Moreover, why don’t you stage your rallies on a weekend, and to another location, say the Luneta Grandstand? The place could more than accomodate you all, and for sure, the media couldn’t resist not covering your activities. Why do it in the country’s financial district and on a working day where you could disrupt businesses, cause humongous traffic jams and bring about a lot of inconvenience to the majority of people who genuinely contributes to this country by religiously paying their taxes? Clearly, those are your true intentions.

I hope so too! The truth could not be silenced forever. let’s rid our land of the EVIL DWARF that is GMA.
It’s now or never!

It should not be tag as “Interfaith Rally”. WHY???
Who attended that rally in Makati who has at least a considerable collection of members? Jesus is Lord, ahhhh……sino pa ba? Can anyone help me enumerate other religious group???
Where are El Shaddai, INC, other Christian Charismatic groups, Mormons, 7th day Adventist, Dating Daan, Baptist, Protestant, Islam, Jehovah, etc, etc, etc? And they call it Interfaith???
The right terminology would be “Inter Political Group” Rally. I consider Bro Eddie as a legitiimate politico after running for presidency in 2004.
So I leave this blog message in a question: WHAT INTERFAITH RALLY???
March 2nd, 2008 at 8:42 am
An Appeal To Mrs. President from my usual crowd at the barbershop,
On this interfaith rally of men wishing that you are gone, I appeal to your good sense that still remains to please listen very well and without second thoughts anymore to consider it.
Please, you may not stay at the palace any longer because many more people will become victims and heroes fighting your damned watch and I feel they will later go again to the Hawaiian courts to ask for emolument as true mercenaries for bringing back to us the democracy you stole not only once, but twice and always.
The power of IT has melded together also our expatriates aligning and entertaining themselves to this futile cause. Pretty soon your supposed stalwarts find themselves in the bind and of course like rats they will abandon a sinking ship or change paper boats at midstream while they can still float with the largesse they have amassed with pluses.
Regret that I cant pray for you anymore because the Lord might be too confused now with opposing prayers of varying advocacy and religious colors. Reason enough that I would insist on chacha primarily for a change in the constitution to abolish religion. Even the officers of the Lord are now tainted with corrupted indecisions.
Rest assured that there will be genuine unity among us once you agreed to my plea.

THE GALL for Joseph Estrada to be joining rallies and giving speeches about truth, moral ascendancy, and justice!Wasn’t he convicted of PLUNDER himself?
What is really appalling though is how people seem to take him hook, line, & sinker. It’s a disgusting reminder again of how the Marcoses came back after the People Power episode to re-claim “lost power”, preying on the filipinos’ gullibility and naivete. We also see political hypocrites hogging the limelight like the De Venecias who experienced moral epiphany only after their fallout with GMA. JDV is, to some extent, like Chavit Singson to Estrada.
And so we Filipinos continue to cry & bleed until we get the right leadership we deserve. Sadly, the social, political, and economic ills that are killing our very existence as a people find their roots from each and everyone of us.
May God bless us all!
March 2nd, 2008 at 12:45 am
You seem to think that the youth has already “spoken”, but the fact is, the “youth” that joined the interfaith rally cannot be representative of the 20million more young Filipinos across the country. A lot of us young men and women no longer believes in joining rallies where we are pushed into being fodder for political posturing. Unlike you older people, we younger folks have seen the potentials for upward mobility, and our generation is a generation that will focus on work and earning instead of making political hay for other politicians who speak platitudes but will do the same thing once put in power.
You will notice that the youth that was there are either the students in schools (towed by either teachers or religious administrators of sectarial schools that again puts on stage their usual Machiavellian morality-political play) or those urban poor out-of-school youngsters recruited by the left playing on their frustrations and weaknesses. Have you seen a significant population of young working professionals? no! that’s because we are no longer interested in this game.
Sadly, the media does not seem to have its ear on the ground this time. Its now at the point where it sees and reports only what it wants to see, and turns a blind eye on everything else.

Stop whining! Go to other less democratic countries and you’ll see the difference! Too much time in our hands to post in websites such as this!

WRONG! IF THESE RALLYISTS AND DEMONSTRATORS WERE NOT JEEPED OR BUSSED TO THE SITE THE NUMBER WOULD BE FAR LESS. THE OPPOSITION HAS TO STOP FUNDING ALL THESE RALLIES AND THE CATHOLIC HIERARCHY SHOULD STOP MINGLING IN THE AFFAIRS OF THE STATE. FOR THE CHURCH TO HAUL NUNS, SEMINARIANS, AND STUDENTS APPROVING AND LEADING THEM TO FOLLOW CORRUPT LEADERS (LOSADA, ESTRADA, AQUINO, LACSON, BINAY, ETC.) AND OTHER HOSTS OF QUESTIONABLE CHARACTERS . PARADING THEM AS HEROES IS WRONG. LOSADA IS NO HERO.HE IS DISGRUNTLED WHEELER AND DEALER WHO GOT THE SHORT END OF THE STICK (LIKE JOEY III).

God bless the Phil.

The inter-faith rally was a showcase of democracy at work. The right to free speech has been amply protected. The right to peaceful assembly was guaranteed. Of course, there were cases of harassment but generally, the rallyists were free to air their grievances. Even a convicted plunderer was free to badmouth the president and he was applauded by the throng at Ayala who were there precisely because of perceived plunder by the “conjugal commissioners”. A case of the pot calling the kettle blackn in Erap’s case but where was the decency of the overly righteous rallyists who found themselves unabashly clapping at the convicted plunderer? I almost retched just watching this sordid spectacle.
Anyway, while watching the event unfold before my eyes on TV (I am an OFW), I couldn’t help but feel sad because I have witnessed the same thing happened 22 years back and again seven years ago. Still the same accusations being hurled against a sitting president. It only means one thing: people power removing a sitting president does not achieve anything except a change in the occupant of the palace. Nothing more, nothing less.
People power brings only cosmetic changes simply because the participants are joined collectively by only one thing: hatred and disgust of the president. Remove the president from the scene and these people who seems united under a cause becomes fragmegted and worse will find themselves arguing hoarse against one another at opposite sides of the fence.
We’ve had two people power already and both proved to be dismal failures to solve systemic problems in our body politic. If there will be a third, it will just be no different from the two. Simple. The problem is not limited to the president or her government but equally shared by the governed: we, the people. We have not really changed as a people. We remain undisciplined, apathetic, amoral, corrupt, cynical and worse, materialistic. We only start to get involve when we feel hurt otherwise, to each his own.
Rather than people power bringing down a sitting president, I would rather that our instituions and constitutional processes should work to achieve change. Let us allow our democratic institutions (no matter how faulty and imperfect) to flourish until they mature. Shorcutting processes will only create instability which is the last that we need if we are to play catch up with our neighbors who have already left us shamelessly behind. O Filipinos, what have you done to your country?
People power does not and cannot bring out truths. It does not offer stability either. All it can achieve is boost the egoes of those for whom the exercise is dedicated. Cory Aquino did not find the truth about her husband’s assasin/s. And it was the purer version of the movement compared with the succeeding attempts.
As an OFW, I oppose many of GMAs policies. I am outraged at the many perceived corruptions happening under her watch. I strongly disapprove of her strong arm tactics. However, outrage should never be a reason to oust a President. Only an unadulterated truth can remove a sitting president. And sadly, this truth cannot be found in the rallies no matter how strong the howls of the people. If the people who are so vociferous in accusing the president and her family of unbridled corruption have the good against them, why, bring the case to the streets and not through the courts?
I do not condone shenanigans in government but I also do not tolerate a few hundred thousands of people removing a president based on mere allegations. We have constituional modes of removing a sitting president and so we have to abide by these modes even if these do not favor us. People power is anachronistic way of settling issues. It is the refuge of those who are unable to prove anything under normal processes.
No to GMA after 2010 but no to People Power now and forever.

Interfaith rally, a gathering of the faithful.
The faithfuls gathering in the Makati place of worship was courtesy of Binay. instead of saying amen after lengthy prayer and speeches, to the consternation of makati employees because they
