In addition to that, why aren’t we claiming back Guam and other pacific isalnds from the US? Many of these islands were part of Las Islas Filipinas for 400 years!

Just because Sabah belongs to the sulatn of Sulu does not mean that it “must” be part of the Philippines. You see, the Sabahans voted in favor of Malaysia back then. The issue therefore should be between the Family of the Sultan of Sulu and Malaysia. It should not be politicized by the Philippines.
Granting that the Philippines won the claim over Sabah yet most Sabahans don’t want to be part of the Philippine yet they don’t want to leave Sabah for the Malay Peninsula, what will we do, papalayasin sila? Aapihin sila?
Some say one reason Malaysia doesn’t want to let go of Sabah is because it is rich in natural resources. Isn’t it that is the very same reason why the Philippines is after Sabah! We are hiding in disguise of “it belongs to the sultan of Sulu”. Had Sabah been like Taiwan, Japa or Korea, which are not rich in natural resources, I doubt the Philippines will pursue its claim.

Blame the British for the creation of Malaysia, Blame the Dutch for the creation of Indonesia and Blame the Spaniards for the creation of Philippines, GET OVER IT AND GET REAL Sabah is not worth fighting for unless Filipino is Technologically smart like Japan or Germany. Then we should build first our own Military Industry, make jet fighters, Aircraft Carrier, Submarines, Battleship and spy sattlelites. Look in the 70’s we would have been the third Nuclear power in Asia after Japan and China but the Morong Nuclear plant was corrupted by Marcos cronies. Malaysia is more capable of invading us. They have advanced F-16, New Submarines and Battleship. Diplomacy is not that easy why would a Sovereign country would give up a third of their territoy. How dumb is that, other than some of our Senators.

Sabah was occupied by Malaysia illegally similar to what Iraq have done to Kuwait, our government and the sultanate of Sulu should do everything possible to retake Sabah as it is a legitimate part of Philippine territory. Sabah land area is almost the size of Mindanao and it is rich in oil and mineral resources , that’s why Malaysia would never give up Sabah.
