AS a law dean, this priest from San Beda should stop making comments such as calling senators childish.
First of all, as a law dean he should refrain from making comments unless he speaks for the whole San Beda law school. As a priest, he should reserve his comments to himself unless he wants to go into politics. As a regular reactor to news publications, he should do so but not under the cloak as a priest or as a dean. Then I will welcome his comments.
Please don’t mock your school name or your students. And calling the senators childish reminds me of my teachers in grade school. Yes, we deserved then to be called childish but calling the senators at this time childish for doing their jobs is a behavior that this priest dean has not overcome yet, his being at one time a grade school teacher. If you want to be a regular critic for or against political issues, unless you want to compromise your position as dean, then stop addressing yourself as priest dean.
Meanwhile, the reaction of the senators to the Supreme Court decision is normal since the Senate is a co-equal body under our Constitution. The SC decision drew a lot of reactions from the public as well as private sector. What I have learned from my political science professors is that the SC ’s role is merely to interpret the law and to keep in mind that the rationale behind such law is to protect the Constitution and to protect the interest of all and not one person who in this case is the appellant. The SC decision unless reversed will send signals from hereon that it’s all right to report a crime and then cover it up by invoking executive privilege.
Under our present laws, if you deliberately engage in a cover-up of a crime then you are equally liable for it even though you did not commit it. I rest my case and I hope this priest dean would do the same.

Franklin you dont have to look far to see an example of “childish” personality, your very own Makati City mayor is one perfect example. Although, because of his age I believe its more of second childhood than just being childish. And from time to time the scale tips towards being an Idiot or just a plain stupid clown.

Fr. Aquino is the dean of the San Beda Graduate School of Law and not the College of Law of San Beda. He does not speak for the whole school, but he just speaks out loud what he thinks of things as an individual. Bedans have cleared that anyone can make a stand as an individual because each member of the community has views different from another.
I also call the Senators childish when they reacted violently when the SC decision on the Neri case was handed down. Instead of making the proper action immediately, they resorted to media exposure, crying out lout like children not getting what they wanted. The Senate has the power to investigate in aid of legislation, but they too have the duty to make the concerned laws related to the matter under investigation. And if they receive an adverse decision, they should not complain and insult the Justices. The judiciary is their co-equal branch. The Senators should learn the virtue of respect.

Yes I fully agree with the San Beda law dean calling our senators “childish”. Also, I wish to add that they are not only “childish” but they are also “sore losers” and highly “irresponsible” in wasting their time and billion of pesos budget in conducting mindless and endless investigations instead of doing their main function of formulating laws for the benefit of Filipinos. This they obviously did for their selfish 2010 political ambition.

Franklin, the San Beda law dean calling the senators “childish” is more of a compliment than an insult. The actions of these senators are no near a childs disposition. The senators actions are similar to what we see from monkeys in the zoo, when they are in a pack and being watched behind cages waiting spectators to applaud and have their prize bananas tossed to them after an entertaining (animal) show.

“You think these Senators hounding the current administration are doing it for the “bayan”? Holly sh*t! They’re doing it for their ratings, they’re doing it for the upcoming 2010 elections!” -Tagasubaybay
Tama po kayo dyan. Name recall is the name of the game…and if any member of civil society still think that they, the senators, are searching for the truth, for the sake of ‘the bayan’, they’re sadly mistaken.
Kaya mao-obserba na lang po ako kung sinu-sino sa kanila ang magpapakitang-gilas o di kayay’y
katangahan base sa kanilang mga tanong na pa-ulit-ulit.
