Our garrulous senators

QUESTION: How many Philippine senators does it take to change a light bulb? Answer: 24 plus their assistants.

I can only observe with distress why nothing ever gets resolved in this country. Malacañang says they will not attend Senate hearings unless the Senate publishes the rules.

How many debates will we have over radio and television? How many statements to the press will we hear? How many bombastic and self-righteous remarks are we away from resolving this?

Maybe I just have a simple mind, but if the rules are already there, then just publish it so we can get moving on these investigations. Isn’t that the simplest, most direct step to take? Can these supposedly learned and principled men for once just do things right?

Just publish the damn rules and get it over with! What is so difficult with that?

    To Wilfredo…

GISING KABAYAN.., Like you, I dont like most in the senate. In particular, I dont like Lacson, Legarda, Joker, Pimentel, Gordon to name a few.. But just like college, it is not the professor we select, it the subject we take. If Gloria indeed have nothing to hide, why uses the clauses in legality to supress the investigation. let a free wheel investigation lost it steam if their are not guilty. Yes, most of the people dont trust the Senate, but they abhor more the Malacanang Palace… Well, just the same, Kudos to you.. You are one of the very rare species that still believe with Gloria. Cheers! Life is beautiful.

Pangilinan insists that the Supreme Court “intervenes” with the internal ruling of the Senate? That they also also “supreme” in what they had decided?

The senator forgot the that also “check and balance” in the 3 branches should prevail. The Senate has no outright monopoly of the “Truth” and they can be subjected to corrections also. Pangilinan and the rest of the opposition senators are just licking their wounded bloated egos on the losing battle of their investigations

I wonder how would Gabby feel on his comment?

Philippines is considered one of the most corrupt nation in the world. How sad that this once promising nation has gone down to the hole. When will this country get back up and truly show that you are a great nation? It’s a shame.
